A1: Christmas is the only one I am aware of. I don't hear kids talking about any of the other traditional or non-traditional holiday events. I wonder if I am just not listening enough? #PrinLeaderChat
a1 #PrinLeaderChat mostly the traditional holidays here, but do have a Jehova's Witness community that doesn't celebrate so we have to be mindful of their faith
A1: We are a diverse community and celebrate many! I like to think of it as a great time for #CommUNITY, sharing, giving, and being good to each other...No matter what holidays we celebrate, everyone can subscribe to that ideal! #PrinLeaderChat#ChooseKind#BetterTogether
A1 We honestly try&celebrate everything¬hing- we have all faiths &Jehovahs, and non faith based folks so we celebrate Community days and “break”and just each other’s company! It takes a lot 2bintentionally completely inclusive, and so far I think we rock it! #prinleaderchat
A2: we hold a food drive for our local food bank and also have a giving tree in our entryway, collecting hats, mittens, scarves for those in need #PrinLeaderChat

A2 #PrinLeaderChat One of my favorite groups to watch was actually our yearbook group in my last school. They did lots of hands-on, on-site work at shelters and elder care homes.
A2: One of our most special traditions is our #WishTree. All students & staff write their wishes on tags & hang them on our tree in the Commons Area. Everyone is included, & @CCMSStudentLife & @CCMS_PSP spend the week before break granting wishes from our tree! #PrinLeaderChat

A3 #PrinLeaderChat In our December faculty meeting, I always remind our staff that not everyone is happy during the holidays. Some folks go home to difficult situations. Others have suffered great losses. Sometimes we will see more difficult behaviors as usual.
A3 Try to learn more about other cultures and their celebrations & traditions. It's a great way to show respect towards others in your school and build relationships. #PrinLeaderChat

A3: we need to be mindful that once our students leave our school they might not experience any holiday related customs at home. We have 2 be the 1s 2 show them about traditions & culture all the while respecting all cultures that R represented in our community #PrinLeaderChat

A4 #PrinLeaderChat At @NHSTexans , tomorrow begins the 12 days of holiday cheer! Various groups have signed up to do a fun holiday treat or activity for the staff. Cookie kick-off starts it all off tomorrow!
A4: The week before vacation we have a different them everyday--ugly sweater, favorite snack day, candy exchange, dollar draw and lottery ticket exchange. Just something to take the edge off. #Prinleaderchat
A3. Just like the holidays magnify the perceived sense of happiness in our culture, it can also heighten people’s sense of loss, inequity and loneliness. It’s not all Hallmark movies.
Be mindful.
Be sensitive.

A4 Not take everything so seriously! Laugh! Model happiness! Practice gratitude! Practice mindfulness meditation! Take care of yourself and demand your Ts do too- like eat lunch for example. Dance in the hallways! Be vulnerable! Be happy!

A4: We have a staff holiday breakfast, Secret Santa, staff holiday party, & just take really good care of each other. Oh—& our staff #UglySweaterBand was a huge hit last year! 🤣 I work with amazing people who know how to take care of each other & our #CommUNITY! #PrinLeaderChat
