A1 I use Desmos two ways: as a calculator and the Desmos activities. The activities are discovery based and are written by many different people #octmchat
Hi, I'm Kristen Fouss. I teach Math 3 and PreCalc at Anderson HS. Did a @Desmos activity today in PreCalc and have another one on tap for a Math 3 quiz tomorrow! #octmchat
A1: I've been sharing a lot of @desmos Polygraphs and Activity Builders in the classrooms I'm visiting... I also just created a few Card Sorts for one of the 5th grade teachers @WestCler#WCconnects#octmchat
A1: I haven't used Desmos much in class besides the calculator portion, but I am eager to learn more ideas about how/when to introduce the activities in class. I have used Polygraphs once last year. #octmchat

Hi, everyone! I’m Jodie - math coach @HilliardSchools & President of @ohioctm Hopping in late after a great turnout at our family engagement night. #OCTMCHAT
Working through graphing sys of inequalities. Ss will be using sketch tool, indicating solution on graph, picking the correct representation of a system, etc. Makes the quiz more interactive. #octmchat
A1: I’ve used @Desmos Polygraph a lot. And had the amazing opportunity to build an exploration around lines with the geometry tool with @bstockus at this summer’s #TMC18#OCTMCHAT
A2 The only challenges have occured at the beginning of the year. Students don't believe you can see what they are doing in real time and tend to rush. #octmchat
A2 My biggest challenge is spending too much time building activities. Trying to figure out computation layer is taking me a while. But I'm learning! #octmchat
Just play around with it. Start simple and play. It just takes a little time to get used to it. I took a card sort activity that I made out of paper and put it on DESMOS.

A2: Desmos isn't a problem; It is like they have a mind reader on staff. They GET mathematics as a connected wonderland of conceptual ideas. I struggle with time to create activities, and to schedule the Chrome Books. #UserError#octmchat
A3 I don't have a whole lot of experience with Geo tool. Played with it some at #OhioDesmos this summer. I like that you can pull it into activities now. #octmchat
A4 1. Go through an activity as a student before you use it in class. 2. The program is so intuitive that Ss won't need instruction on how to do things. 3. Try it! You can get such good thinking and conversations going. #octmchat
A4: I love the Power of the Pause feature to bring the class together... gather their thoughts... collect some vocabulary... discuss misconceptions... #octmchat
A4: When using Desmos in class, use the anonymity feature to display student answers. Whether correct or incorrect answers, these make for great class conversations about the different ways students think and misconceptions that may occur. #octmchat
