Thank you for visiting #ksedchat. We welcome all educators to our chat that runs Mondays at 8 p.m. Central. Though many of our educators have their homes in Kansas, all teachers are welcome to pop in and join in on the learning.
Amanda from #usd303. This year I will be teaching 8,10,12 ELA, a few FCS classes, and am the HS literacy coach. Excited for a great year! My fave non-ed app is TWITTER!! Don't know how I taught before becoming a connected edu! #ksedchat
David, 2nd grade in Valley Center. Guilty pleasure non-ed app @PokemonGoApp I do it because of my childhood, students play it with me at recess! #ksedchat we walk a lot! #edchat
I’m upright and finally got solid food besides toast today. I did some prepwork for committee meetings tomorrow’s but no work in my room yet. #ksedchat
A1: I actually don’t have any productivity apps. I mean I live and breathe by my stickies (digital notes) and my Calendar app. Most of my big productivity comes from knowing how to #search . #ksedchat
Jennifer here. 5th grade in Derby! (That’s the first time I’ve used that intro in a chat 😬) my favorite non educational app changes regularly but I like Toy Blast right now. Lol #ksedchat
A1: @LastPass to keep track of all your passwords and have them auto fill. Super secure and allows you to have more complex passwords instead of using the same one #KSedchat
A1: I loved using @asana to keep track of all my tasks. I LOVE checking off my to do list and you even get a cute little character to dance across the screen when you do so. You can use it to collaborate and assign tasks, but I haven't used it for that. #ksedchat

A1) I use my google calendar to help keep up to date on appts. But I have to be honest; I am old school. My paper organizer and lesson plan book are still the best because I remember things better when I wrote them down. #ksedchat
Oh my gosh, absolutely my pleasure! You all are a good group that seem to deeply care about your Ss. Please let me know if I can be of service in helping shift more toward #PBL. #ksedchat@TaborCollege
A1) Google Calendar is a must. And maybe it’s the accounting degree in me, but when I get excited about something I spreadsheet all about it. Excel is an under-appreciated beast. #ksedchat

I'm going to have to go back and reread tonight! There are so many apps I didn't know about, and my BTS brain can't think that fast tonight. Question 2 coming up! #ksedchat
I’ve recently started using Voxer to send myself reminders of things I’ve said I’d follow through on during the day. It’s kinda changing my life. #ksedchat
A2- My co-teacher and I use Brain Pop and Brain Pop Jr. to supplement our social studies lessons (paid for by my district). I also LOVE Epic! because it allows the students access to a wonderful elibrary for FREE #ksedchat
A2: @Newsela and @EpicKidsBooks are my favorites go tos! The older kids love the articles on NEWSela and they can easily change the reading level. #ksedchat
A3) we use Moby Max. But I also loved https://t.co/eBElvWNPwI when I taught upper grades. But I also like Mayh Brain because it’s a little different. Mayh with brain games. #ksedchat
A3 for science I love this app to teach misconceptions about “elements” but also teacher true scientific principles by adding #games4ed Little Alchemy by Jakub Koziol #ksedchat also saw there was a second but have not yet tried https://t.co/mSmZO96MOp
Also forgot about @EmpaticoOrg for global learning and social studies community. This is so meaningful and just what our kids need #empaticofellowshp#ksedchat
I actually love @Seesaw and all the adope spark choices for creativity. Loving @canva, and know that I don't use google draw like I should. People that do..rave! #ksedchat
#ksedchat I absolutley love using Sound Studio for recording purposes in class...It's amazingly easy to use and very inexpensive. Of course, most of you know about Garage Band on Apple. Sound Studio 4 can be found at https://t.co/JkseRPjgkr .
#ksedchat I am SO late - I'll catch up later. From K-State. I'm a #FlipGrid advocate for all ages - PreK to graduate students! Oh, and #Voxer for book studies!
It is really easy to edit the recordings with Sound Studio and is a fun way to "show" the Ss their own personal sound waves per se while they perform, play, etc. #ksedchat
