  • AVEPrincipal Oct 30 @ 8:01 PM EDT
Civic Responsibility is defined as the "responsibility of a citizen" (https://t.co/lGyA5ydLAe). It is comprised of actions and attitudes associated with democratic governance and social participation. #wearewayne

  • jamestotton Oct 30 @ 8:13 PM EDT
A1: My favorite example of Civic Duties in the classroom are voter registration drives....Wayne took part in a statewide drive this fall that registered 2700 students around Indiana and over 77000 people total in the state. #voting #wearewayne
  • Carlino4Council Oct 30 @ 8:15 PM EDT
A1: In our #wearewayne schools there are many ways students can engage in both mock and real life civic opportunities. Examples at #BDU include STUDENT COUNCIL, CLUBS, and NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS like @inbpa Students also work with state, city & township officials every year.
  • jamestotton Oct 30 @ 8:16 PM EDT
A1: A special shoutout to @MrsCarlino @miles7_micheal @BDU_Gemaira and the other interns that worked the voter registration drive for #wearewayne this fall!
  • jamestotton Oct 30 @ 8:19 PM EDT
Student councils are such a great way to get students involved in everything from voting, to community to service, to development of interpersonal communication skills #wearewayne

Q2. What civic responsibilities do you put on your students and how does your staff coach the students? #WeAreWayne
  • educatorbarnes Oct 30 @ 8:24 PM EDT
A1: Students can be seen as citizens of their classroom. I think classroom jobs help students understand what it means to contribute as a citizen. #WeAreWayne
    In reply to @AVEPrincipal
  • jamestotton Oct 30 @ 8:27 PM EDT
Classroom jobs are an outstanding example of being good classroom citizens. It helps to create an environment where all feel responsible for outcomes and take pride in the classroom itself. #WeAreWayne
    In reply to @educatorbarnes, @AVEPrincipal
  • Carlino4Council Oct 30 @ 8:28 PM EDT
A2: As the media specialist and news team leader, I foster the habit of having students tell the story of our school...of their journey...of issues facing us and our world. They listen to the voices. Capture the daily milestones. Then, share it with the world. #wearewayne
