#Edtechchat focuses on Education Technology. Co-founder Tom Murray says #edtechchat "connects us professionally with inspiring educators from all over the world, all of who encourage us to be better every day for the children and families we serve.”
A1 Supporting all the activities for CS week in district! Media specialists, tech coaches, STEM academy, everyone is busy! Need to get around and take pictures tomorrow! #edtechchat
A1: We are showing off CS projects all week during lunch - and we are hosting an educational forum for the community where I get to talk about technology in education #edtechchat
A1: Since I’m completing my MSc, I don’t have a classroom of my own. Over the next few weeks, however, I’m volunteering at local K-8 schools in @LimestoneDSB to facilitate coding workshops. #edtechchat
Beyond #HourofCode and #CSWeek My Technology Integration page https://t.co/piRqUi7Xqu Technology makes learning fun and connects students to the world. Students should be taking advantage of tech throughout the school year #edtechchat 3edchat
A1: as a college student during dead week, I'm working on final projects for #EIPT3043 recently learned about coding in Swift Playgrounds, great app for k-12 students! #edtechchat
A2: Honestly, I spent a few hours designing the badges so far, as well as creating a badge tracker through #flippity - still need to plan activities for them to complete in order to become #minigooglemasters for each component of GAFE #edtechchat
A2 The media specialists and STEM teachers have been working super hard to get ready for this week! The students love every minute... so worth it! #edtechchat
Just got the "Elegoo UNO Project Super Starter Kit with Tutorial for Arduino" trying to figure out if it's for me, my students, or my nephew. #EdTechChat
A2 To ensure technology will be incorporated meaningfully, lots of planning and prep was necessary. Just using tech isn't enough, make sure the experience leaves an impact! #edtechchat
A2: Just now learning about #HourOfCode seems like an excellent resource. No classroom yet, but I'll put ample time into designing instructional sequences for CS week next year with the help of you all and https://t.co/OrHm62HGB1! #edtechchat
Yes! I just heard on a FlipGrid webinar, gen z are first true digital natives, but just because they are tech dependent does NOT mean they are tech savvy! That's our responsibility. #edtechchat
So you could compete at Villanova University. Its an amazing experience! We competed there two years, but we are closer to Cape Cod so we go there now. RMS is a fantastic organization! #edtechchat
I enjoy the fun and games portion of hour of code - I work through all the examples myself - lots to play with - star wars - minecraft - wonder woman #edtechchat
Unfortunately I see a lot of that too, but removing individual face emphasis or giving students a choice between utilizing something else (like boring written report or lacking tech) seems to help #edtechchat
Wanting is 1st step towards any creative endeavor. It can feel super overwhelming to do but kids lead the way :) I felt the same w/ my 1st one. Do as you dream! Let us know how we can help :) #edtechchat
A3 Interesting question... most other things were competitions, not necessarily topic centered events. But we could generalize the competitions to make them more accessible! #edtechchat
I always think it's fun to incorporate unplugged coding activities. Many of the Ss I have worked with do not have the necessary resources to do elaborate coding and these activities give them menaingful experiences too. This is a great activity https://t.co/K6XqWI8uSr#edtechchat
A3: I wonder if introducing students to #IFTTT to introduce coding principles in a fun and useful way could be effective. You don't see as much true coding as other methods but it could be a good way to integrate the concept #edtechchat
Twitter is a valuable resource. A professional library open 24/7 filled with motivated edus who grow in the service of learning. #edtechchat#TeachWrite#PLN
A4 Share Share Share. When Ss work is seen and Ts voices are heard by colleagues they begin to ask questions. Look at the work being done in classrooms and ask if you can collaborate next time with #edtech in mind. #edtechchat
A4: How do we take advantage of national Reading Day, or 100th day of school, or national Poetry day - there are so many different types of days to try - how do we partner and get #edtech integrated #edtechchat
A4 If needing to gain momentum offer extension opportunities as clubs. Motivated Ss will join and act as a pilot group. Experiment and share. Interested colleagues will inquire and extend. #edtechchat
A4: NASA has excellent resources for combining other disciplines, especially aerospace engineering, with tech for education! Applicable across K-12 standards #edtechchat
#edtechchat projects like 100 codes or 100 steps. our little kids do a 100 parade where they have to collect 100 of something or the other and display it older kids could do a gallery walk with a coding program

Perhaps disciplines don't know where they fit within the world of education so we could scaffold their entry. Let them see into our world by having students 'ask the expert'questions to clarify inquiries or help with problem solving. This will help get their feet wet
....and we as edus get a "case study" to test out our integration ideas. The club approach was essential as we experimented with #MinecraftEDU. #edtechchat
A5 Open houses & Parent nights could benefit from being more tech inclusive. It not only shows Ps what their kids are learning, but makes them more knowledgeable. When Ps are more aware of tech resources, they are more likely to promote Ss to use them at home. #edtechchat
Great opportunity to make our practice public. If we are carefully integrating #edtech into Ss' learning day Ps should have a chance to see what that is like. #edtechchat

A5 - any school based event is an excellent opportunity to integrate #edtech as long as it's an authentic representation of how #edtech can be used to amplify learning.. #edtechchat
A5 Intrigued by the idea of Ss capturing work in progress using time lapse and then use that video to narrate their decisions regarding the work. Picture in picture or green screen. #edtechchat
That's an awesome idea! Or using creation app like Explain Everything in the place of Word or PowerPoint for research projects. Really can allow students to prove understanding and integrate more technology by compiling visual evidence with their voice #edtechchat
That gets a little dangerous because of TOS for the services and COPPA for the kids, - possible but needs help from your local #techdir to stay safe #edtechchat
A6 Using a #badge system for #gamification allows us to celebrate anything! Wouldn't it be great to have a celebration night once a month to hand out the badges w/ Ss and Ps? #edtechchat
our students in my county did it with the African Americans in the county it was really cool to hear the stories told they termed it living eyewitness to history #edtechchat
A6: I would love to see a Maker week - similar to a service day, but we spend the week identifying, and then fixing a need in the local community #edtechchat
A6: I like celebrating any of the environmental recognition days and would create student scientists with https://t.co/5vXZZMB5Wz projects using tech #edtechchat
That would be fantastic. I don't know if I could swing that during this school year but I'm sure it could be coordinated over the summer... @debschi@njcybrarian#edtechchat
