Joining in on #MEMSPAchat - Looking forward to a great collaborative chat late in the school year. Talking about End of the Year Reporting with @donistamour happening NOW!!!
A1: The growth of our learners over the course of the year (not state reporting, but accountability to one another. This reminds us of the amazing work we have done togehter with our Ss all year long. #MEMSPAchat

A1: Definitely staff and student successes...points of pride not just academic growth. We like to share these things at our last staff meeting and celebrate the amazing growth we made as a team! #MEMSPAchat
A1: End of the year staff surveys and PLC data. These to things can drive what you need to focus more on and will give you things to celebrate at the end of the year #MEMSPAchat

Yes! Just got back my EOY community & staff survey results and found alignment w/ what I have suspected needs to be tending too and the feedback. Very powerful. #MEMSPAchat
A2: Reporting isn't always the favorite thing on the to do list. I do however appreciate the opportunity to reflect that reporting creates. #MEMSPAchat
A2: Just re-looking at our SIP with some teachers. Decrease from 22 Activities to 12. Much more focused and intentional going into next year. Going to be positive with fidelity #MEMSPAchat

A2: Using a plan for systematic and continuous school improvement throughout the year has helped our team look at our plan in chunks and in a more practical way. Instead of it being something we have to do, it's something we actually USE. #MEMSPAchat
We had a mid year staff survey and doing a way to turn some negatives into to positives. Need to have a grow mindset. We are fail but we need to looking at it as an opportunity to make it better. #MEMSPAchat
A2: Although sometimes the results are frustrating, unflattering or even "negative", as long as you learn from your results and make correction/adjustments nothing is a total loss!! #MEMSPAchat
A2: We've been together 8 yrs and like a family there has been more tension this year. We are taking the reflection we've done as a staff and using that to power us forward in a positive way. It's hard but good work. #MEMSPAchat
A3: Tough to admit, this isn't done as much as it should be. Looking forward to having a great data piece come next year that will give T's something to look at and build upon to inform instruction (NWEA) #MEMSPAchat

A2: I am going to take a page out of my new favorite author @AllysonApsey! :) Any challenge or frustration can be turned into a "gift" and definitely can be a learning experience. I have really tried, not always successful, to have that mind set this year. #MEMSPAchat
A3: Annual Education Reports, intervention team meetings, data walls, board reports, and celebrations during staff meetings. Future goal - routine data digs with teachers and have them share out progress. #MEMSPAchat
A3: Our Ts reflect on their student data in their SLO at the end of every year. I meet 1:1 with each to reflect on the year and look at this together with them. Ts report data in a management system that is then shared year to year. #MEMSPAchat
A3: We have grade level data meetings, but this is an area I'd like to improve upon moving forward. Data is critical and my dream would be for T's to share more data with each other and learn from each other! #MEMSPAchat
A:3 I have been involved in many instructional rounds with the #HILWMU project, it is exciting to see data shared in ongoing ways much more than in the past We have empowered our Ts #MEMSPAchat
#memspachat A1: I find it uplifting to look back at the year by compiling a "Points of Pride" list. It is most empowering when the entire staff generates the list.
That is such an honor Kathleen!! I am so honored to be your new favorite author!!
Shifting mindset to view frustrations as "gifts" is NOT easy & NOT automatic. It's okay to feel frustrated for a few minutes before you discover the beautiful lessons. #Path2Serendipity#MEMSPAchat

A4: This has been a game changer for us! The immediate feedback is huge for us and has made such a difference in our growth. We can adjust instruction and individualize daily! #lovemydata#MEMSPAchat#mortonchat
#Memspachat I agree, and I find that with new options, we can make better decisions for individual kids, groups of kids as well as trust options for interventions!

A4: Technology allows data to be available almost immediately, which allows us to use the data to adjust instruction right away. Makes it all that more important to have accurate, actionable data aligned with curriculum goals. #memspachat
A4: I mean... it's amazing. Tech allow collaboration, data collection and desegregation at your finger tips.
And I have one word... Google! #MEMSPAchat
It has made it easier for us to break down the data for individual students and break it down by our power standards. Easier to find our strengths and weaknesses.
A5: I'm afraid to answer this one honestly... I am not a fan of the layout of the current SIP. I love the idea of a road map but often have to make my own to make it more functional for staff. Spending time typing and not doing will not drive growth. #MEMSPAchat
A5: Being my first year in admin, I feel overwhelmed with the AMOUNT of reports. I also feel the Program Evaluation Tool is a bit redundant. We feel as though we're evaluating ALL programs while working on our school improvement plan and the PET seems unnecessary. #MEMSPAchat
I am not in a building leadership position, as you all know right now, but I always wondered why we had to send information that the state has from all of our testing documents, attendance reports and other items that we must keep updated???? #MEMSPAchat
A5: I think some of the compliance form/reporting are redundant. I often find myself thinking, "how does help me improve the lives of my Ss and their families....????" And if there's no benefit for them, I have to ask why... #MEMSPAchat
Research supports building principals as instructional leaders, in fact this is on the list as MOST important, in class rooms and support teacher development tops this list as activities, less reporting would help #MEMSPAchat

A5: I concur w/ @MrDomagalski the state reporting is redundant. Especially the school systems review (ED Yes!) few (if any changes) annually. #MEMSPAchat

Especially when we are writing plans for students with IEP's and goals for reading... I just want to SCREAM no kidding... why do you think they are on an IEP. Also, writing IRIP's for Kindergarten students (especially in the fall when they are just starting school) #MEMSPAchat
A6: You need to celebrate with them. Teacher Appreciation Week is a good time to get that started and continue to the end of the year. The end of the year if so busy and stressful need to find time to lift everyone's spirits. #MEMSPAchat
A6. Celebrate successes and team building opportunities. We will be serving at Ronald McDonald House as a staff as our off campus end of year retreat. Super excited to serve together and be together outside of the school setting. #MEMSPAchat

A6: Model not being too visibly overwhelmed/frustrated with the processes involved with year-end reporting (something I'm reminding myself of frequently!). I give handwritten thank yous to team members that are working on the various reports, as well. #MEMSPAchat

A6: First, I do the hoop-jumping work myself and try not to waste staff time. Second, be present. We are busy too, but need to be there for our people. Three, SMILE and have fun! This is an exciting time! #memspachat
A6:Keep smiling!Don't let your frustration with "end of year reporting" etc. show. As the leader you must model what you want from your Ss.If you are fussy and creating "count downs" so will they. So stay positive, continue to set achievable goals and finish strong! #MEMSPAchat

A7: All reports made into one document. Drops down and quick entries. It's do-able.
Would love to lead a committee to propse this to @mieducation#MEMSPAchat
A7: Checklists for completing each aspect of reports and what I should do, when, so it's not so "much" at the end of the year. My brain works better that way :) I'm kind of building them as I go to help in the future - but it'd be nice if they were done already! #MEMSPAchat
Q7: ONE report without all the crazy requirements. Data is great but we get most of it from the state website why do we have to restate it?? #memspachat
A6. It’s important to be grateful for the joys in our work. Especially during times when we can get bogged down with the things that can lead to complaining. Be positive, get the “stuff” done and focus on what is important...the people you serve. #MEMSPAchat
A7: 1 document, no repetition of questions, response. Stop the layer upon layer of outlining format. Too much, not usable and doesn't improve learning for our Ss. #MEMSPAchat

Dont' let the whirlwind get you! Focus on what is important for sure and MODEL, MODEL , MODEL! Treat others how you want to be treated! So important and a life lesson for sure! #MEMSPAchat

A8: Without a doubt, I have to thank and give a shout out to both @btenniswood and @cwoolman06 for showing me the way to complete the reports and how to make them intentional and real. #MEMSPAchat
A8: Shout out to our new curriculum director this year Ann Bingham. She has done a great job of finding new and simpler ways to break down data that makes it more meaningful for our T's and S's. She is a blessing. #MEMSPAchat
A8: It's no surprise that I'm going to pay it forward to my friend and colleague @KatQuain From teaching together to leading together, I've always been able to count on her in and out of the school house!! #MEMSPAchat
A8 I have to say a BIG Thanks to #MEMSPA office space business, #MAC I learned more than ever attending a data series last year and part of this year #MEMSPAchat
