Next week is #IETA18 - the Idaho Educational Technology Association Conference - I know that @gcouros will talk about Twitter in his keynote! #IDedchat
I am presenting two sessions that deal with Twitter - 101 (a beginners session) and 201 (an intermediate to advanced session). My goal - to get more Idaho Edus on Twitter! #IDedchat
Yahoo! While that's nice we are more focused on sleep training first and self-soothing. We don't mind the once a night he gets up currently. But I'd be happy with full nights again. #IDedchat
A1: It can increase communication between all stakeholders in the building/district. It also engages students on deeper levels and makes greater connections. #idedchat
R1: social media is a great way to share activities taking place in the classroom in real time with stakeholders of the school. It’s also a great way to share good news. #IDedchat
Crazy! They were calling for measurable snow today/tomorrow, but yet in true St. Louis fashion it was sunny and 60 today and then 30s tomorrow. #IDedchat
It's going well. Will be wrapping up the research portion in the next few months, and then just have to write the last few chapters this summer. Light at the end of the tunnel is near. #idedchat
A1.5 The schools can push notifications to all in a manner they are becoming more accustomed to, instead of hoping parents remember to look at the website. #Idedchat
A2: for parents I actually use Remind, more private. I tell them that is my preferred communication tool, and I can respond quicker than anything else. #IDedchat
It started 7 years ago with our high school. I have been on this journey now for 4 years. Two of which was research and the last two helping implement at the Elementary level. Incredible journey! #idedchat
R2: I post on twitter occasionally. In all seriousness, I send out a weekly email to my Ss and Ps. That way they know what to expect the next week. Use Remind when we have projects or assessments coming up. #IDedchat
A3: District posts scholarship opportunities, upcoming events, school cancellations. Anything that would be sent in a letter or e-mail, it ends up on social media. #idedchat
A3: Important information, newsletter headlines, pictures, with permission, of students enjoying learning, their products, etc. other learning opportunities around the local areas. #IDedchat
A3: get into classroom and show off the learning. Make quick little videos of learners sharing their learning. Share items happening in the district for the week. #IDedchat
Does anybody have a solid replacement for Storify? Great way to capture posts w/ school # and then share w/ parents, but it's going away SOON. #IDedchat
A3: I personally have created a school # to increase student, teacher, and administrator communication. It has also served as my replacement for Remind 101 #idedchat
Amazing how fast it changes isn't it. Most of our Ss wouldn't be caught dead on Facebook. They're there because it's the 21st century phonebook #IDedchat
Very true - my own children correspond and share with me more on Snapchat than Facebook. I have to remind them that FB is where their Grandparents like to see pics of them. :-) #IDedchat
A6: Students can post videos (YouTube) explaining learning of content...or demonstrating a strategy....other students can comment and give feedback. #IDedchat
You know....I do not know the answer to that. I know that other professions (business) host "twitter parties" to launch new ideas, etc. But I'm not sure about learning. #IDedchat
Haha no problem. Clearly I have had some time to think of all of these throughout the year as it's been some of the PD I have provided to my Ts. #idedchat
A7: Connect, Collaborate, Share. All about creating better lessons and classrooms for our Ss. So many great educators out there willing to share. #IDedchat
Taking a class on multicultural education right now, and trying to get more people from the class to check out #edugladiators on Saturday morning. Perfect fit to support topics from class. #IDedchat
I follow several writers...with the intent of becoming a better author. I don't experience the same level of learning amongst authors as I do amongst educators.. #idedchat
A8: As a result of Twitter, I have made connections (virtually and then Face to Face) with educators I would never have had the opportunity to meet. #IDedchat
A8: As a result of Twitter, I have made connections (virtually and then Face to Face) with educators I would never have had the opportunity to meet. #IDedchat
A10: Share my passion with others at #IETA18 AND I am hoping that @gcouros will encourage folks to come and learn about Twitter in my session... (hint) :-) #IDedchat
