#aussieED was founded on the belief that all teachers, and students, should have unlimited access to Professional Development, on their own terms, to improve their teaching, their schools and change the lives of the students they encounter. Since then, we have embarked on a mission to reach educators, not only in Australia but, all around the globe. We want to smash the barriers that prevent teachers from easily connecting and learning with each other. To that end, we have developed a regular Ed-chat each Sunday on twitter at #aussieED. The chat allows all teachers, leaders, administrators and all those connected with education to meet on an unbiased platform and discuss the real issues that effect what happens in classrooms everywhere. Our chats are authentic because we are real teachers walking the same walk that so many do everyday.
Using contemporary models of teaching... images... voice to text... videos.. flipped learning and above all respecting and valuing every child in your care... #AussieEd
A7- clearly displayed & explicitly taught Success Criteria so that all Ss experience successful learning. My expectation is that they will succeed, their expectation is that I will enable them to succeed #aussieEd
A3 - my favourite way to teach anyway, include music, songs, rhymes, group work and peer teaching to assist her understanding! Tech has amazing resources these days to assist #AussieED

Your girl is a perfect example of why the system needs to be remodelled. Look at her now, but look at what she (and you) had to go through to get there. #aussieED
A7: All my recipes are the same (white on black) and are displayed on a screen at the front of classroom. At times, though, text size is an issue. We also dem recipes (on screen) prior to students cooking them. #aussieED
I take my 8 students with Autism to the kitchen. One of them in particular finds it difficult and last week independently asked for "outside please" and came back really calm. Might be an option? I also use a visual schedule with each and more sign than verbal #aussieED

Learning is not always linear so different ways to get to next step is helpful. Choice of content can only help in certain circumstances though. #aussieEd
Is it just the 8 students? Or are they in a bigger group? Students always have the opportunity to go outside for some ‘quiet’ time, a drink or some space. I know I need it too! #aussieED
Is this a true scenario? Do student's have to make a request? Surely the school sorts this out. Surely a soution is sought so requests are not denied. #AussieED
A3-adjust, adjust, adjust. Adjust the delivery, adjust the scaffolding, adjust the tasks, adjust what success means until the Ss experiences that success #aussieEd

From what I read, no matter where we teach, the challenges we face supporting our Ss remains the same. It’s a struggles for us all to have real inclusion. #aussieED
Just the 8, which makes up my class. Sometimes it feels like a much bigger group! All have significant developmental delays, sensory issues etc. I love that you offer them that opportunity! Me too! #aussieED

Think my brain is broken post report writing/marking/planning weekend. I’ll give it a better shot next time! 😂 Thankyou for the great questions @Marg2511#AussieED
Some of the benefits to inclusion include building friendships, acceptance and ensuring every child feels valued as a member of society. It all begins in our classrooms...#aussieED
If school documents adjustments in PLP over the years / typing for Naplan/ assessments/exams it’s ok, should get considered. No documentation, then can be denied. #aussieED
If Student doesn’t want scribe/type for Naplan, encourage to do so, so then it’s in the system. Then adjustments for yr 12 exams is so much easier to organise. #aussieED
