Glad you are here Brooke!!!!
Welcome we are glad to have you!
A1: Engaging, interactive, inspiring
Are you using participate?
1. challenging, engaging and tailored
A1: Engaging, Challenging, and leaving with my mind blown. Excited to share it or do it in my classroom
Lurking only. In mtg. Front row. Don't want to get the stank eye from speaker. π
A1- Engaging, INTERACTIVE, PERSONALIZED!
Hey All! It's Jessica from Hooks - finally made it
A1 Relevant β please donβt waste my time, Engaging β please help the day move along, Ongoing β I can always learn something new!
HaHa! I think I know what meeting you are at. ???
A1: interactive, hands-on and of course some FUN
Relevant YES! https://t.co/uF9xSPEcSN
A1 Relevant β please donβt waste my time, Engaging β please help the day move along, Ongoing β I can always learn something new!
A1 Innovation, helpful, interactive.
we wont tell, thanks for lurking!
Welcome Colby, glad you are here!
A1: Interactive, motivating, useful (something to take)
Hey who is paying attention to the kids, if you are both chatting? :)
A1 - relevant, interactive, and creative.
Woo Hoo welcome Alyssa, glad you are able to join tonight!
A1: Engaging, Positive, and I'm going to throw in humor. I want to learn and laugh a little. ππΌ
A2: Engaging, Positive, and I'm going to throw in humor. I want to learn and laugh a little. ππΌ
laughing is overrated, why would you want to let your participant laugh? no I agree
A2: grade level...content area
A2: Teachers should always have a say in prof. dev. Prior polls, teacher facilitators, handouts, access to resources
A2: Definitely giving the Ts a voice, let them pick and choose PD, let them be part of the PD
just say you learned it in one of your classes, I wouldn't know any different!
A2 by subject and grade level.
A2: breakout sessions, not just one level of learning,
so important to closely meet the needs of individuals ... choices
Sorry I'm late! Claire Pennington from Hooks!
A2 give T's options to discover their own learning, instead of mandating it all. Fuel Tβs passions as we want them to do 4 Sβs.
no need to apologize, scroll through we are on Q2 now, glad you are here
A2 -grade lvl/content, but I think it should go beyond that to maybe their skill/comfort level w/ content
We are all adults, we make choices everyday! Should not be different with PD
oh great, let the other customers and waiter keep up with them, brilliant!
Q2: Badges (way to go & ), provide OPTIONS, and know your "learners"
A2-Classes are student driven; why shouldn't PD be teacher driven? Give them choices.
im saving badges for another question, but had it here too at one point!
is doing a rockin' job at this as well! https://t.co/D9x98mipS7
Q2: Badges (way to go & ), provide OPTIONS, and know your "learners"
Man that is brilliant, so true!!!!! Perfect summary! https://t.co/kQVI7qLyKJ
A2-Classes are student driven; why shouldn't PD be teacher driven? Give them choices.
A2 Give Ts time to connect with in-house experts. I repeat: TIME
We are excited to have you tonight!!!!! Hope you enjoy.
I love it when I get a new badge
A3: Some content can be flipped, some teachers prefer less collaboration. Open minded admins listen to teachers' wants/needs!
We are about revamp! Got some new ammo recently :)
wish we could bottle TIME and sell it, we'd be rich
A3: both ways-sometimes it's nice to soak it in on your own, but we NEED collaboration also!
I'm here....late but good. Shelly Brown from DeKalb Middle.
HAHA! No kidding! Haters gonna hate https://t.co/ZyPTK0af13
I giggle a little inside when people make fun of and my badges.
A3 depends on the T but collaboration is best.
Too much to juggle. Just learn ONE new thing at PD and roll with it.
A3 It doesnβt require collaboration, but there is power in groupthink when channeled in the right ways. Energy of a group helps
Late is ok, we are just glad you are able to join us. We are on Q3 now.
A3- Going to play devil's advocate... How can it be fostered individually? I think collaborating & connecting are essential.
A3- if someone has to start the process! Collab. Makes it better, but it can definitely be done on your own!
A3: Both. Sometimes I just need time to soak something new in other times I like bouncing ideas off of others.
A3- Isn't time spent alone more along the lines of reflection as opposed to professional learning?
A3-Both! Individual time is great. Gives us time to think. Multiple teacher brains: fantastic results as well.
Depends....I think that's totally up to the Ts preference
If we are reaching out on Twitter or in other communities aren't we collaborating? Collab does not have to happen face to face.
I did my entire Masters degree individually, is that Prof learning? Either way, we all learn a TON on our own.
always good to share & learn with peers, but digging into content that is individualized to my professional needs at times rocks
A3 Usually one person ignites a spark and it spreads. But if it doesn't, go for it anyway. You know your kids.
It is set up via several of us as TCEA Area 8 members, sharing with other members and non members.
I did mine mostly individually ;) https://t.co/fp7g0Oa5uB
I did my entire Masters degree individually, is that Prof learning? Either way, we all learn a TON on our own.
A3- cont. Teachers get turned off when required to attend more trainings. It should be a blend- some online, some in person
if only introduced to it and need to be able to really concentrate on that one thing-no distractions https://t.co/uow1E5wuq5
A3- Going to play devil's advocate... How can it be fostered individually? I think collaborating & connecting are essential.
Q4 What tools does your district use (or could use) to enhance professional learning and collaboration? https://t.co/gO1VXisrwZ
A3 Too often teachers find GREAT tools and ideas, close their doors, and forget to share. Collaborate.
A4: Badge system, screencasts for tech, video demonstrations, newsletters, afterschool minisessions, conferences, tech in plc
Ain't that the truth! https://t.co/vgmu2rixxV
A3 Too often teachers find GREAT tools and ideas, close their doors, and forget to share. Collaborate.
My people <3 ;) https://t.co/a9LHyYB701
A3 Too often teachers find GREAT tools and ideas, close their doors, and forget to share. Collaborate.
A4: ALL things Google, Badges, Lunch and Learns, Newsletters, Social Media
A4- Badge program, Google, Google.... Did I mention Google?
Sometimes I have to have my time to process how my kids would respond to something. https://t.co/NTp89XOybL
A3- Going to play devil's advocate... How can it be fostered individually? I think collaborating & connecting are essential.
A4 Lunch and Learn. Woot Woot for our 2nd one tomorrow!
Professional learning or reflection? I would consider that reflection. (again playing devil's advocate) https://t.co/nZhukYKMMS
Sometimes I have to have my time to process how my kids would respond to something. https://t.co/NTp89XOybL
A3- Going to play devil's advocate... How can it be fostered individually? I think collaborating & connecting are essential.
Q4: badge system, Google system, YouTube
When there is more choice, there is more buy in.
Lunch&Learn, Badges, Google,
Our school has begun to integrate badges. I think people would be more intentional with more tangible incentives.
A4 - you could use pretty much anything as long as you share it with other who could or are willing to try something new!
LOVE Badges. They have WORKED at DISD!
A4: Incentives, Ss involvement, increase admin involvement & praise, be intentional about if it is relevant, follow ups
