A1: My desk is what stresses me out the most! I must find a better organizational system so that I can serve students and staff more efficiently. #AKEDCHAT
Q1: Picture your classroom* in your mind. What parts of the room make you feel tense, anxious, or exhausted? What parts make you feel calm, happy, or proud?
* Depending on your role in the school, picture your office, your library, or even the school as a whole.
A1: my room felt cluttered which stressed me out so this year, I have been getting rid of furniture! Taking down tacky instructional posters and loving the simple vibe. #akedchat

Blessings to the families of fallen heroes on this Memorial Day! Good evening, #akedchat! I'm Tammy Morris, based in Juneau, but attending ASLI this week, wearing my SSOS Coach hat!
#akedchat A1: The piles on my desk, that eventually get moved to a box on the floor, cause me stress! I need to get better at handling things once and not putting them in a pile to deal with later.
Q2: Reflect on the lessons you taught, the events you led, PD you facilitated, etc. Which give you a feeling of pride or satisfaction? Which make you feel disappointed, irritated, or embarrassed? #AKEDCHAT
#akedchat I’ve been trying to do paperless filing so I love my folders within folders on the computer. I do have a lot of post-it notes as my on-going to-do list but I’ve gotten better at using my online shared calendar
A2: As a librarian, I need to be more proactive in helping teachers integrate a larger variety of technology into lessons to provide more student choice. #AKEDCHAT
A2: Pride-“5th Grade Public Speaking Event”, any lesson involving @Flipgrid or #MysterySkype, my place-based water unit and our class trip to the movie Wonder 😀 #akedchat
Q2: Reflect on the lessons you taught, the events you led, PD you facilitated, etc. Which give you a feeling of pride or satisfaction? Which make you feel disappointed, irritated, or embarrassed? #AKEDCHAT
A2: I was proud of some of the student-designed labs we did this year. I'm going to make a real effort this coming year to eliminate anything like busy work. Every bit of work should have a purpose. #AKEDCHAT
#akedchat A2: During a workshop I feel great sense of satisfaction when I see participants actively engaged in the topic as evidence by interest in what they're doing, the excited comments they make to those next to them, and their unwillingness to stop when it's time to move on!
A2: Disappointment- ran out of time to finish our Native American Projects the way I normally do, dragged out the unit in which students read My Side of the Mountain, and did not spend much time on volume I Math. #akedchat
Q2: Reflect on the lessons you taught, the events you led, PD you facilitated, etc. Which give you a feeling of pride or satisfaction? Which make you feel disappointed, irritated, or embarrassed? #AKEDCHAT
#akedchat A2: I'm disappointed when I see Ts in my workshop checking email, shopping, other activities unrelated to my prompts and suggestions. But those times are when I consider deeply what I need to do differently to engage everyone.
#akedchat I do a lot of online workshops so I’m trying to figure out how to integrate more hands-on components using the limited tools I have access to
Q3: Teachers-Reflect on your students. Support staff-Reflect on your coworkers.
Administrators-Reflect on your faculty.
What do you feel when you see each name? #AKEDCHAT
A2: I want to push the limit of what staff and students see as the libraries role. Librarians can really be part of anything and can add great resources and opportunities. I plan to think outside the box and show how versatile libraries can be. #AKEDCHAT
A3: Our students eat lunch in the library. Sometimes I get busy during lunch and don’t interact with students. Next year I plan to focus 3 out of 5 days to ensure I spend time building a foundational relationships with students during that time. #AKEDCHAT
Next year I will focus on creating ways for students to remember their awesome global library experiences. And teaching students to lead video creations #AKEDCHAT
A3: I need to contact home early with more students, positive as well as the tough conversations. It's easy to get busy & back-burner small things til they're big things. #akedchat
A3: this is a goal I have every year, but I love to work on team building skills and help my students be responsible and contributing members of a group. #akedchat
Q3: Teachers-Reflect on your students. Support staff-Reflect on your coworkers.
Administrators-Reflect on your faculty.
What do you feel when you see each name? #AKEDCHAT
#akedchat A3: I really like this challenge, and it deserves much more time than I'm giving it tonight. Since I just found out Friday that I won't be a SSOS Coach in the sch where I've worked the last 3 yrs, I'm emotional about leaving the staff & students.
#akedchat A3: There are some names that bring an immediate smile to my face and some names that make me think harder. As I consider this, I see that it's all related to relationships. So I need to be more intentional about building stronger relationships with some.
Q4: Mentally travel from classroom to classroom, picturing each teacher in the building. Which coworkers give you a generally positive feeling, which ones are neutral, and which ones make you feel nervous, angry, or annoyed? #akedchat
A4: Each of my coworkers have many positive strengths and we all have things to work on. I am inspired by those who are willing to try new things and take risks. I am proud to work in Wrangell and so happy my kids are growing up here. #akedchat
Q4: Mentally travel from classroom to classroom, picturing each teacher in the building. Which coworkers give you a generally positive feeling, which ones are neutral, and which ones make you feel nervous, angry, or annoyed? #akedchat
A4: As a librarian, I frequently interact with everyone in the building. Next year, I would like to ensure check-in with all teachers monthly. #AKEDCHAT
A4: TBH, I usually struggle w/other tchrs when I think they're bad at their jobs, so I'm going to make an effort to be less judgy & more supportive of all in my bldg. #akedchat
A3: Our students struggled with mental health issues this year more than usual and I would like to focus on that aspect of life. We will have more positivity and outreach coming from the library. More fun programming after school and uplifting messages. #AKEDCHAT
A5: Restorative practices was the word that jumped out to me. I am insecure about how to properly restore a relationship with students when conflict happens. ....and then just today @cultofpedagogy had a Tweet about it. God answered my prayer! #AKEDCHAT
A5: honestly all the “buzzwords” are good, I feel positive when I see the buzzwords in action and I feel annoyed when I ONLY hear them from professionals who say them to look good but lack follow through. #akedchat
#akedchat A4:Much easier 2 bld reltnshps w those who give pos feelings.Intentional focus&effort necessary 2 bld better reltnshps w those who make us nervous angry annoyed.I think I avoided 1 particular T this yr after he had an angry explosive outburst during a conversation w me.
A4: I’m going to brag a bit here. My staff is amazing and extremely supportive. I do want to provide more support for them. Just check in more often with everyone. #AKEDCHAT

#akedchat Q5: I'm very comfortable with many of these buzzwords and fairly comfortable with many more. "Restorative practice" is one I need to study more. I have limited experience to the experts' advice so far. But I'm an eager learner :)
