5 minutes! We are excited to have so many new friends on with us tonight! Please remember to check your Twitter accounts. If they are set to private we cannot see your tweets and we won't be able to verify your participation for the give away! #rcstechchat
My students enjoy using playposit, no red ink, common lit and working on figuring out thrivist with my tech coach soon! Looking for ways to blend this classroom up!
#rcstechchat
A1: We like to use https://t.co/uSvXqIIm5R to help graphing equations and inequalities. Also, wabbit is a Ti-89 calculator for free you can use on your computer to help students follow along with new calc steps #rcstechchat
Q1: I find that @Seesaw provides awesome delivery of digits content! We also love @nearpod and @AnnieAndMoby - The platforms serve as great access points to digital content and information! #RCSTechChat
A1 Apple TV as I'm on a cart 2 days at SES and I have one in my room at Campus too. ipads and my projector for powerpoint presentations. I love recording them and showing it for evaluations and feedback. #RCSTechChat
A1 I probably don't use as much digital content in my classroom as I should. At my school, we are fairly limited with our BYOD policy so it limits my ability to use things like kahoot quickly and easily. #RCStechchat
Q1: The digital technology that works best for me is AppleTV that allows me to use both my iPad and awesome music apps and computer interchangeably. #RCSTechChat#worksmarternotharder
A1: I use presentation software a lot. I like to use youtube. I like to gather feedback on schoology, but I'm a bit limited on it. Maybe I need to spend more time learning. lol
#rcstechchat
A1: I use quizlet, pp, and anything I can find to keep them engaged in the learning intention. I also love technology that can track my students progress. #rcstechchat
A1: Digital content that includes a student accountability piece as well as a simple way for me to track that accountability are the types of digital content I prefer to use in my class. Some examples are NearPod, CommonLit, NoRedInk, and MobyMax. #rcstechchat
A1: I use PHET simulations and my document camera and of course PPTs. I like Ed Puzzle as well. I find issues with a lot of science content out there because it needs adobe flash player and for some reason we can't run those on the laptops we have for the students?
#rcstechchat
A1: In our intervention classes, we use digital content that can be adjusted for various lexile levels and programs with text to speech options. #rcstechchat
A1: I like using digital content that enhances student engagement and allows students to verbally show or explain their thinking - we do this a lot through SeeSaw #rcstechchat
A1 I like to use things that are interactive and provide immediate feedback. The kids love Quizizz and Kahoot. While I’m learning SeeSaw and NearPod. Ooh, and Plickers! #rcstechchat
A1 (cont'd) We recently got laptops and I believe we are getting a half class set. This is one of the main reasons I'm here tonight, to learn more about how to integrate them into my classroom. #RCStechchat
My students enjoy using playposit, no red ink, common lit and working on figuring out thrivist with my tech coach soon! Looking for ways to blend this classroom up!
#rcstechchat
A1: I also love ESGI...a super easy online assessment tool that is amazingly efficient. It even has the capability to print reports, parent letters and flash cards to send home
#rcstechchat
A2: Challenges that I face are not being able to use a virtual lab for my students because of the adobe flash player issue. Students staying on task without opening other windows. Time to just research activities that will work.
#rcstechchat
A2: Reliability is the biggest challenge we've faced this year. With several new programs, it took a bit to work there kinks out, but we're sailing now! #rcstechchat
A2. Keeping everyone focused! SO easy to get off task with some things. We are expecting our 2:1 laptops soon - looking forward to incorporating blended learning techniques. #rcstechchat
A2-When you plan to use something digital and it doesn’t work consistently. Access to technology can also be a challenge to use digital content. #rcstechchat
#RCSTechChat there’s always that one kid no matter how often you find their password that still can’t remember it. There’s also some Ss that cannot handle the freedom of being on a device
A2 Losing instructional time for students to log in. I prefer programs that offer a code to simplify things. Also, the hassle of learning a new program can feel overwhelming at times.
#rcstechchat
A2: wifi goes down, not enough laptops to go around. Sometimes have to loan mine out to another teacher so they can get testing and lessons done. Keeps me from using it everyday.
#rcstechchat
Q2 For me, it's just a change in thinking. This is my 19th year (I started teaching when I was 10 so I'm super young ;) ) so I'm geared toward old school methods. It isn't natural for me to go out and find technology related material. I'm getting better though.
#rcstechchat
A2 One of the challenges I face is how difficult (or how many steps it takes) for a student to actually get into a digital platform. Example: Log in to the computer, go to this webiste, click on this, re-enter passwords, etc.
#RCSTechChat
A2: From my experience most challenges relate to classroom management. Keeping students on task, practicing good digital citizenship, etc. #rcstechchat
A2: One challenge is the learning curve for some of the students. The majority have cell phones which are user friendly, but with some of the programs students are having a hard time getting used to them. #rcstechchat
A2: For my first graders, logging in individually takes time and practice... Hard for them to actually participate in a program during center time because they are trying to log in for most of the rotation. #rcstechchat
A2- some of the challenges I have are limited time with students to master the content. In Computer Literacy, we only have student for a handful of links. Paying for upgrades can sometimes be difficult. #rcstechchat
A2: I feel like the biggest challenge is student monitoring. With a class of almost 30 students, we have to trust our students to be on task. This is especially so if we are using tech in centers and we are running a teacher small group. #RCSTechChat
A2: Logins are the most challenging part to digital content for me. I am fortunate to have a 1:1 laptop classroom, so access is not an issue. Clever and single sign-on access has almost eliminated the frustration for logins though. Not all programs are there yet. #rcstechchat
A 2: My biggest challenge is lack of exposure to a keyboard and mouse. I teach 1st. Many of my students have tablets at home. We got a class set of laptops again. Thankful for my tech coach coming in and helping them learn the devices immediately! #RCSTechChat
A2: Access is a huge hurdle for elementary. So much material is TOO many clicks away. Instructional designers, districts and LMSs need to be in collaboration to ensure maximum usability. #rcstechchat
A2: computer use at all is tough for PreK students. We need those prek friendly mouses'/mice?...I don't know how to say that correctly...anyway the mouse that only has one click.not rt & lft...computers can be frustrating so we mostly stick to tablets and ipads
#rcstechchat
A2: The challenge for me is having the time to put together good quality digital content. I need the platform to be easy to use and efficient. It needs to be flexible and intuitive so that I'm not fighting technology instead of creating content.
#rcstechchat
A2: My biggest challenge is the management of computers/laptops that do not work properly. Multiple times during small group instruction I am interrupted because of issues with logging in, etc. #rcstechchat
In my kindergarten classroom, the greatest challenge is that most students are not able to correct navigation errors or clicking the wrong links, etc... without my help (which pulls me away from my small group instruction
#RCSTechChat
A2: slow network. Login problems are usually just first couple of weeks. Some students have their own devices for quizizz and Kahoot. Rolling laptop cart works well to fill the gaps #rcstechchat
A2: I think the biggest challenges are often out of our control as classroom teachers, and sometimes even better tech coaches. A big shout out to whomever fixed the whole log-on challenge at the start of the year! #rcstechchat
A2: basic integration of digital content with third graders. Everything takes time to learn the tools and how to utilize them! Luckily @JillHinesRCS is an amazing supporter in our building. Can’t help but also wish for unlimited access to some resources like nearpod #RCSTechChat
A2 I don't have too many challenges with connection. I think with everything else-modeling and comfort is what needs to be practiced. My 3rd graders do amazing with navigating what needs to be done. A great resource is https://t.co/QgBatHTnR3#RCSTechChat
A2- My main challenge is lack of knowledge to incorporate it. OR trying to implement it and then only getting a 30 day trial. like Nearpod and quizzez for examples
#RCSTechChat
A2 since I only have my students for a short time, I would say time is my biggest challenge, especially for the little ones who take so long to log in. #RCSTechChat
A2. Student accountability to be focused on the task and not in another program on another webpage or changing computer settings when I am working with a small group! 🤦♀️
A2: login can be kind of tough for younger students. I know we use things like Clever login to try to make it easier for them. Of course, having enough devices for all of my students can be difficult because most, if not all, of them don't bring devices to school! #RCStechchat
A2: As I mentioned earlier, we need to have permission each time we have students use devices, it can get a bit tricky to make sure you ask far enough in advance. Beyond that, I'm hoping that the additions of the half class set of laptops will make this easier! #RCStechchat
A2: Ss had to change their passwords last year and were allowed to create their own. Now they can't remember what they set them too and we constantly have to reset them! Also, Ss having access to computers can be an issue if you want to use digital content regularly #RCSTechChat
A2 In my kindergarten classroom, the greatest challenge is that most students are not able to correct navigation errors or clicking the wrong links, etc... without my help (which pulls me away from my small group instruction
#RCSTechChat
A2 biggest challenges: availability of devices bc some programs would be best 1:1. Also, one click login would be helpful in saving class time logging in. #rcstechchat
Mr. Spatz came in and helped me teach them how to log on. Most learned within 2 lessons! My kiddos had to use their typical username + @students.rcschools.net until December. #RCSTechChat
A2- My main challenge is lack of knowledge to incorporate it. OR trying to implement it and then only getting a 30 day trial. like Nearpod and quizzez for examples
#RCSTechChat
A2 It can also be challenging if students do not have access to technology at home. Many teachers at my school are transitioning to more and more digital classrooms and it can be hard if students can't access items at home.
#rcstechchat
I struggle using technology, as a school counselor who loves technology, I don’t have access to using products I love. Challenges include not having any technology in one school I work at and the other school I am in other Ts rooms and not being able to access it #RCSTechChat
A2 We have a HIGE issue with WiFi access. Some days it’s fantastic. Other days there is almost no connectivity. High school kids are not known for the ‘patience of Job’. #RCSTechChat
A3 I use whatever is easiest and readily available... not all publisher content is really all that great so you need to weed out the junk and find what really works #RCSTechChat
A3: I use OER, mainly because a lot of the things I use to teach my students doesn't come from the textbook (articles, books) which forces me to go out and find my own digital content. There are still some digital resources that are useful from the textbook adoption #RCStechchat
A3 Usually I use a combination of both depending on the needs of the students and the alignment of standards. Really it is just evaluating the resource and making sure it is going to work for your students. #rcstechchat
A3: Both-- it depends on the goal. We use publisher software for instructional and assessment purposes, but other programs for things like online portfolios and communication with families. #rcstechchat
A3 A mix of both. There's a lot of great digital content from the textbook publishers, but I like to supplement with OEM where and when I can. #RCStechchat
A3 I find that I use a combination. I hardly ever find an article/resource that is PERFECT for my students. So I often combine or cut/paste resources to make something I like for my students.
#RCSTechChat
A3- I use both when pulling resources for teachers. It’s just a matter of finding the best content that aligns or will support student understanding. #rcstechchat
A3: Blended! IReady teacher toolbox has magnificent resources that can be accessed digitally. @CurriculumAssoc -but we also search low and high for any means that could help reach our kiddos! #RCSTechChat
A3 a bit of both. Since our system promotes iready it is a go to in my classroom but have to change things up for students to stay engaged! IReady videos are in-depth instructional tools and sometimes a kid just needs a 3 min refresher video. YouTube, Etc. #RCSTechChat
My students are working in creating podcasts to teach next year's students. I PLC'ed with a colleague and he immediately jumped on board for his class to create podcasts for review #rcstechchat
A3: I use YouTube and PowerPoint a lot in my room. I also use several music apps on my iPad. I feel like I would use a lot more things if I could attend an in-service that talked directly about helping in the elementary music classroom.
A3: I may be a bit ignorant on this one. I may use OER quite a bit. Open content is often easy to utilize in the classroom due to its open nature. It often tends to have a lot of experienced users to guide the way for those looking to implement it.
#RCSTechChat
A3. I do more open resources, but I also make sure to use the textbook’s resources because students can following along in class and have a copy in the classroom. #RCStechChat
A3: I use a mix of both. It depends on what I'm looking for and what is available. Many times the Published items have a fee and are not under a school or county purchased contract and I an find similar as an open resource. #RCSTechChat
A3: I mainly use publisher digital content. This is mainly because I have not had time to invest in researching reliable OERs that are beneficial and easily accessible for my students. #rcstechchat
A3: My feed froze...I had to refresh! I am not sure what the difference is between the 2. I do use content provided by our textbook publishers...iReady, etc...
#RCSTechChat
A3: I may be a bit ignorant on this one. I may use OER quite a bit. Open content is often easy to utilize in the classroom due to its open nature. It often tends to have a lot of experienced users to guide the way for those looking to implement it.
#RCSTechChat
It's ok if you don't know one of the questions...you guys are doing great and we are all learning from one another! Keep it up! Yall are awesome! #rcstechchat
A2. My biggest challenge this year has been adjusting to the ability of my students as this is my first year teaching 1st and have previously taught 2nd and 4th. It has gotten easier for them as the year has gone on! #rcstechchat
A 3: I have been able to incorporate many parts of our new science series' online content into our R2BR lessons, though! SS is a bit more difficult, since Studies Weekly does not support the 2019-202 TN SS standards. #RCSTechChat
Our BYOD policy at SCHS is actually great. Kids are allowed to have devices out with explicit permission. Students bond better. With phones, even for academic purposes, I can't police what's happening, but with laptops, I should be able to use LANSchool #rcstechchat
A4: whenever I find a digital resource worth sharing with others I bring it up in our weekly PLC before showing other teachers I feel like can use it #rcstechchat
A 4: Our team shares all of our teaching aid FlipCharts weekly. These are archived in our grade level One Drive. We also discuss digital resources to support our lessons in PLC. #RCSTechChat
A4: Yes, specifically to my team! I want to get better at reaching out to other colleagues and their resources that show positive effects in their classroom. #RCSTechChat
A4 we started alternating PLC meeting with digital meeting where we share lessons and ideas on TEAMS. It’s nice having it all in one place #RCSTechChat
For example, have you created lesson or found the perfect LO for a bell ringer before? If so, how have you shared that. Might be dependent on RCS tech infrastructure... #RCSTechChat
A4: I don't know about best practices, but we certainly share resources within my team. As my wife just mentioned OneNote, we might start looking into that for resource sharing. She's smarter than I am. #rcstechchat
A4: yes! In PLC we do! Usually we will discuss a strategy, one teacher will take the lead, and then we all collaborate to make it happen.. and this usually goes down in PLC time. #RCSTechChat
A4. Yes. Caring is sharing. I tend to share a OneDrive folder with my PLC and keep resources there. Best part is that they can add to it as well! #RCSTechChat
#RCSTechChat A4 we do a really great job of this in my plc group we use our one note even though it’s not the best. Best practices would be share everything and let the others sort out what they need
A4 Oakland’s history department uses USA Test Prep religiously so we all have access to each other’s assignments. It really makes reteaching a standard that your own students didn’t ‘get’ with your own strategies a very accessible thing. #RCSTechChat
A4: yes, during weekly PLC my companion teacher and I share ideas and lessons. We both share CFAs through Gradecam and use the reports to curate our data
#RCSTechChat
A4 In my PLC, we mostly share through Outlook and OneDrive. We have used a staff notebook in OneNote in the past for the county SS teachers.
#RCSTechChat
A4: I share as much as I can. I have used some portal but I always forget what it is called, but I put all my links there and share that page.
#rcstechchat
Just a tip- if you are having trouble finding the questions, click on @AndrewMcGarrity and then "Tweets" and then click "Add Column". It will put only his tweets in a column. #RCSTechChat
Q4. #RCStechchat We have great PD sessions at school about technology. This is where we learn about them. Past Thursday, we had a tech speed date about technology.
A3 I tend to use more OER just because it is easier to access and it has a fluidity and freshness as new things are continually being added. #RCSTechChat
A4: I didn't see q4 but I assume it is about sharing discovered digital content etc. I definitely share and want it shared with me. Others shared what works for them with me and it has helped. I welcome suggestions anytime and give them when needed.
#rcstechchat
A4: OneDrive! Files can be easily made/shared and accessible from anywhere you can login! I even save to my OneDrive from my home computer! #nodesktopsearches It keeps it organized! @Office#RCSTechChat
A4: My team rocks with sharing resources through our team mtgs, PLC, Office365 -- honestly, taking time to share & learn from each other makes us ALL awesome!
#RCSTechChat
A4 I do share digital resources with my team when I find one that I feel is effective and worthwhile. However, because I'm still trying to integrate it myself, I don't always feel like I have as much to contribute in this way.
#rcstechchat
A4: I share fun ideas I've found on TpT all the time. We also use onedrive to share a lot of things. I've also really enjoyed seeing fun ideas posted by friends on Twitter! #rcstechchat
A4: We share through one drive...all the resources that are of course legal to share via multi-license purchases (insert sideways smile emoji here cause I am on my laptop and not phone...)
#rcstechchat
A 4. Yes, we attend weekly PLC meeting where we outline and share all resources that we are using for the following week. My team is also really great at emailing any additional resources found that we think would benefit each other
#rcstechchat
A4: I think you have to be careful not to overwhelm others with things that excite you. It's easy to go a little crazy sharing resorces, which is why I try to put them on one drive in a team folder. #rcstechchat
a4 I tend to share concepts with other teachers and mention the resources that I use to create things, but like to leave space for others to construct what they need #RCSTechChat
A4 Forgot to mention, I place a lot of my resources and project ideas/directions on my teacher website. For the project we are working on this week, all 7th grade students are using my site whether they have me or not.
#RCSTechChat
Q4 I am always wanting to share and find other who want to share. I don't find one note or sharepoint too friendly. Am getting ready to learn teams
#RCSTechChat
A4 Yes! All. The. Time! 😊 We share via OneDrive, email, SharePoint, text, etc... We all want our kids to have the same advantages next year, so we share resources. #rcstechchat
A4: I have used OneNote and Google documents. That was easiest when our mini school would decide who got what students or to keep up with students progress as a whole. #rcstechchat
A4. YES, YES, YES! I share everything that works well in my classroom! SCE prides itself on sharing what works. Also as a @ProdigyGame Ambassador I love to share new knowledge with my colleagues. #rcstechchat
A5: I had students do digital movies, those came out really neat and were a lot of fun. Students made up songs or did plays, puppet shows, it was all recorded and presented.
#rcstechchat
#rcstechchat A5 Lately I've really fallen in love with letting students express themselves using @AdobeSpark They've made some really beautiful things.
#Rcstechchat A4 Sharing looks a little bit different for a School Counselor, but yes we share resources with each other through the counseling groups and onedrive. Plus email and akign for tips on specific topics is common.
A5 I recently had students create infomercials to "sell" inventions that were made in Medieval China. The students use Seesaw to create the videos and I brought in props!
#RCSTechChat
A4: Yes, I share digital resources all of the time! Through OneDrive, Delve, Teams, Our school has a Tech Page in Teams to share such resources and I have a Teams page that was shared at the Middle School Winter Conference in a PD that I co-taught. #RCSTechChat
#RCSTechChat a5 I’d love to have my students making podcasts but I’ve also used @Flipgrid to have my students compile a soundtrack for the crucible this year. I love having them get creative so I can really get their voice in a project
A5: Having a platform where students can access articles and websites on a topic and then do some research on their own to determine their own views on the topic and create some product, whether a video, an essay, an infographic to share their perspective. #RCSTechChat
A5: One project we do in my classroom involves pulling evidence from a variety of sources such as music, TEDTalks, and articles. I know that's probably not the most creative use of digital content, but they enjoy researching from more than just the textbook. #RCStechchat
A5: Our @besboro 4th grade team has done green screen projects in SS for the past two years that have been amazing! We've also done Sways that are tied to science content, requiring research and notes in class notebook. #RCSTechChat
A 5: With a high ESL population, writing is a struggle. My class has used Flipgrid to record themselves speaking, in order to help with their writing. #RCSTechChat
A5: Anything that has the student be creative and learn. I love to have the students create a presentation or project on something they are passionate about. It is very easy to keep them on task that way. Have them make a how to video over something they like .
#rcstechchat
A5 - I would love to hear more about digital projects. @Tibbstechcoach did a sway with my students last year involving the planets, and they seemed to really enjoy it! #rcstechchat
A5 #rcstechchat and my latest efforts involve students currating a portfolio of their work on googlesites. I want them to be able to share their learning growth at their March Student led conferences by sharing their learning hubs.
A4 Yes! I love sharing and collaborating with others. Using Sway and powerpoints were great to share as a team. I also share via email and Twitter #RCSTechChat
A5: I do a really fun lesson about music in the movies and music in video games. I also love using digital content to show fun things about instrument families. There are also some excellent PowerPoint assessments that my kids love.
A5-we are able to use the iPad and Apple TV to let the students film their groups and demonstrate different the progress they have made during each unit #rcstechchat
A4 my team shares when we PLC and plan together. The teachers at my school are wonderful collaborators and our tech coach @JillHinesRCS does a great job of teaching us how to use digital and technology resources! #RCSTechChat
A5: Besides them creating basic PP slide projects, this is where I really need to grow! I'm wanting to get in to doing Flipgrid. Any teachers wanna school me? 5th grade ELA/SS teacher here!
#RCSTechChat
A5: My students love to record themselves reading one of our shared readng books in the iPad center. Then, they watch their video and try to fix their fluency errors. I can also go back and check their fluency and share it with their parents. #RCSTechChat
A5: I haven't had any projects assigned to use this yet, but a colleague is doing podcasts and I'm thinking about having student teams compete to create Kahoot quizzes We just finished an in-class activity focusing on reliable research with a Zombie theme. #RCSTechChat
A5: Hard one for me. At my last school, I had a fully interactive board and had really started integrating a lot of activities using it into my daily lessons. I'm still learning to do things without it. I'd love to have a Promethean or another smart board in my room! #RCStechchat
A5 Since I’m an ELA teacher, I allow my students to do book reviews on FlipGrid. It’s so neat to see the shy/quiet kid on there talking away! #rcstechchat
A5: We use EPIC books to research different informational topics. Recently we searched for informational books about hibernating animals then created habitats for them based on our new knowledge
#rcstechchat
A5: I have had students use PlayPosit when I was in the classroom. Also, they made up a song or rap and then created a music video to go along with their song. #rcstechchat
A5. I have one iPad and one computer in my music room to use, I would love ideas on how to do projects with technology that would allow me to just use these resources. #RCSTechChat
A5 today my 2nd graders used PPT to create a collaborative animation project - the Red ball challenge - it bounced from one computer to the next #rcstechchat THEY LOVED IT
A5 As a school counselor with no tech readily available I don’t have any current projects but I can’t wait for next year! I will be implementing Flipgrid and Sway to create projects during Red Ribbon Week and Kindness Week and with our schools ambassadors #RCSTechChat
A5 My kids have also used Sway with their math teacher and have asked to use it to create presentations in SS. Not familiar, but from their interest, I guess it’s good..?? #rcstechchat
#RCSTechChat a6 don’t be afraid to try something new! I think we tend to get stuck in a rut of what works and we need to be willing to branch out more. Can’t wait to get my laptops so I can do some station rotation in my classes!
A6 I always have at least one tech center when I do reading rotations, whether it's iReady or a quizizz on our reading skill. I also like to use a kahoot with most of our grammar skills. It's a quick review and the kids love it.
#rcstechchat
A6: Prepare for it not to work. Technology is great until the internet or site goes down right when class starts. Have a backup plan just in case the tech isn't working that day. #rcstechchat
A6 what helps me is to have some students that are willing to be “guinea pigs” and work with me to help others. It’s a nice way to push the higher as they are now teaching too and it helps me with more hands on deck #RCSTechChat
A6: having a place they go to every time they log in has been a game changer this year. My mini school team decided to all you Microsoft TEAMS so it makes it faster to get the kids where we want them with fewer questions. #rcstechchat
A6: I do a lot of research, I try to go to conferences and see what other teachers are using. You just have to google, talk to other teachers and get as much information as you can. I love snipit!!! I can not snip the graphs from ACT questions to helps students.
#rcstechchat
A5-I've seen a Spanish teacher use Sway to have her students add pics of things they saw on Spring Break, then write sentences in the present tense of one of the verb tenses (spanish) and then presented their presentations.
#RCSTechChat
A6 The "Snipping Tool" from Microsoft has saved my life numerous times... I would also say don't give up on digital content or platforms on the first day... The first day can be crazy, but the students figure it out quickly!
#RCSTechChat
A6 anything that helps keeps the students on task. Teacher controlled nearpod is awesome. Teaching expectations and guidelines of technology is essential! #rcstechchat
A6. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Good content is out there but it’s important to make sure it’s aligned to standards! Great SeeSaw activities readily available, same with forms etc. You don’t have to start from scratch with everything! #RCSTechChat
A6: In PE we have utilized QR Codes to show the students a demonstration, tell them how many reps, or allow them to read the document with the guidelins for the Presidential Fitness Challenge. #rcstechchat
A6- I think getting feedback from the students as well as effectiveness to drive the decision in technology is beneficial. Also- I say go for trying something new. Change is good #RCSTechChat
A6: always have a back up, but don't let the tech hiccups dissuade you from trying the new stuff out there. I've already made a list of things to check out from tonight's chat, so thanks all!
#RCSTechChat
A6 A tip that I have is to start small. There are so many different resources and programs to use it can feel overwhelming. Find one that you really like and get comfortable with it, then start to explore other programs. #rcstechchat
A5 in the past I have had my 5th grade students create digital movies to tell their immigrant stories. They had to research, write, and create, and narrate the movie. #RCSTechChat
A6-Start small with something small. We are starting to use PPT recording to audio record the leveled readers for science centers in the younger grades. This gives them easier access & teacher instruction through the content. #rcstechchat
A6. I love finding short videos and embedding them in my daily/semester ppts. Putting the lesson "meat" into my continuing BellWork ppt has helped me with organization tremendously! #rcstechchat
Quizizz is great! It works a lot like kahoot, but you can assign it as "homework" for them to do during class. They just don't all have to do it at the same time.
#rcstechchat
Edulastic! If examview and zipgrade had a baby, we would call it Edulatic. It grades assessments and gives immediate date to the students and to you.
#rcstechchat
Make sure yall don't log off before completing the form at the end and before the winner is announced. Must be "present" to win....digitally anyways..lol #rcstechchat
A6: Explicit instruction and repeatative modeling of how to appropriately use the technology and what to do if things go wrong! Always have a back up especially if incorporating technology into your centers. It will save your small group instruction! #rcstechchat
A 6: The biggest trick I have learned is to save all passwords to their device to save time. As long as the kids are signing on to the same device, it saves the passwords. #RCSTechChat
A6: I use one class to test out new sources. For example when I started using one note I started with just one class period and slowly built up to where I am now using it every day all day for everything. #rcstechchat
A6: I think it would be great to see immediate feedback from my students in the middle of a lesson. That way I'd know if it was time to move on or if we needed to spend more time on something. #RCStechchat
A6 I also will often create a "dummy" student account before I try something new with my students. I need to be able to understand how both MY side of the technology works and the STUDENT side works... That way I can make edits 1st!

A6 - I have a computer rotation in my reading small groups. I try to keep it engaging & different but it can get tricky. Can't wait till elementary classes are 2/1 tech at least.

A6 to help engage students in the class. Students love anything that is dealing with technology. They are better at technology than we are. #RCSTechChat
A6. Yes. Allowing students to be interactive at the beginning of class either through reflection questions or questionairres or online polls allow students to get involved in class from the beginning. #RCSTechChat
A6: Students log in each day for bellwork on either NoRedInk or MobyMax for whatever the assigned skill is for the week, This enables me to keep track on skill progress data and ensures that everyone is logged in and ready for the digital lesson for the day. #RCSTechChat
A6 I tend to have student look up how they can use whatever math skill we are learning in real life and then they discuss it on seesaw and share with with their classmate

A6: I have my Exit Tickets in a discussion forum format. I think it helps students to see each others responses and get a better feel for how others are taking in the material. They may not share vocally , but they sometimes will digitally.

A6: There have been a few things I've learned as far as making sure youtube videos don't have weird ads or automatically bring up the next video. The looping feature is nice, especially when replaying the same video for 6 class periods a day. #RCStechchat
A6: From a coaching perspective, the best the we can do is create opportunities for collaboration and discussion. One-off trainings have little to no impact. #rcstechchat
A6: Start Small and always be on the lookout for colleagues and others who are in this with you! Mistakes happen, technology happens, just try! #RCSTechChat
A 6: Also, I have all links we use in the classroom on my school website. I have it set to pull this page up automatically when they open Chrome. #RCSTechChat
A6-anything that can keep the students on task! We love it because the students look forward to using the iPad to record their friends during each lesson... we always give them a task when they use it #rcstechchat
A6 -boring but organizing in folder and storing content in OneDrive has helped me so much! And use your tech coaches often! They are so helpful! Thanks @mylifeasatechie for helping me over the past years. #RCSTechChat
A1: Sorry, late to the party, but answering to learn from y'all! I'm beginning to use Nearpod more and more. I used to use YouTube and TedEd, Powerpoints for intruction most days. I use https://t.co/X1W8erVVbJ twice a week to reinforce math facts for 6th graders. #rcstechchat
A5 I thought I answered but maybe I forgot the #? I use iReady or Quizizz almost every week for reading rotations. I also use Kahoot as a grammar review pretty often and Brain Pop Jr. as a reteaching method when needed with the leveled quizzes.

If you teach younger students, creating a class page in Clever has been a big help in getting students to certain resources faster with less clicks. #rcstechchat
A6-I constantly pick up ideas from my peers at our trainings and like to try them out on students or teachers during PD sessions!

A6 The more exposer and practice the students have with their digital content the better they will be with it. There is always a huge learning curve for all of us when I implement something new. #RCSTechChat
