Technology has allowed students to create or use music in any subject and in any classroom outside of just “music class”. Right now I’m having students create their own “theme song” when they attend my classes! #AppleEDUchat
A1: Garage Band is amazing! Never has music creation been simpler and student friendly. Utilizing Music measures for fractions, creating lyrics for any subject, infusing music to enhance theme. Reviewing lyrics for historical content. #AppleEDUchat
A1: music in the background is great at setting a mood. If I want to calm the students, I play some jazz, if I want there blood and creative juices flowing, I’ll play something more upbeat. Different music has different effects. #AppleEduChat
A2 stream Apple Music everyday from my MacBook Air or iPad to the appleTV to play our class soundtrack. The S’s like to listen to music through YouTube. I find it a very interesting choice.
#EveryoneCanCreate#AppleEDUchat

A1: I use music to listen to, have student create to go along with writing, and to get them motivated and moving. I also use music to teach vocabulary #AppleEDUchat@Flocabulary
The fact that we can turn on youtube and find kids from another town, state, country singing or performing--being able to bring cultural events from other places is so incredible! @EmpaticoOrg is another way to celebrate those differences! #AppleEDUchat

Using GarageBand right now with junior English classes. We aren’t making music but podcasts. Kids are adding background music and sound effects. It’s so cool. @cschillig@jesspike24#appleeduchat
Podcasting is really helping students for speaking and presenting. Some schools have brought back radio stations because of the value the speaking has. #AppleEDUchat

#AppleEDUchat Download MusicNotes especially aspiring musicians... If you need to know the chords that the musicians are playing.. Turn the app on and hold your phone up. It gives you what you need right then. It's amazing.. It could be ground breaking for budding musicians.
Q4: How have you used music apps, programs or simply music in general to teach concepts or enhance your content in your classroom? #AppleEDUchat#EveryoneCanCreate@AppleEDU
A4: @Flocabulary has a video for almost anything. If it doesn’t, I encourage kids to use GarageBand and lyric lab to create their own. See, same answer for everything. Lol #appleeduchat

A5: have music playing when kids enter the room. @Flocabulary has great music. After kids enter have them reflect on what they’ve heard. Then, drop the learning on them. Have them create original content in GarageBand to demonstrate learning! #appleeduchat Did it again! Lol
A5: to this day, I still remember songs I made in school to remember content. One of our teachers from #osd135 tweeted today that she had her students dance to remember content. A great choice for students to create when having them demonstrate what they learned. #AppleEDUChat

A6: I would love to see more students and teachers using GarageBand. It not just allows students to be the lead producer for their own projects, but it is such a great way to express their creativity and give students a voice who may not like to be on camera. #AppleEDUChat
Most definitely. I think it is intimidating at times but once you get in and play around, it's a breeze. Those #EveryoneCanCreate guides should help with that #AppleEduChat
Thank you all so much and I hope you pump up the music and create with some of the ideas that were shared tonight! #AppleEDUchat
Happy #NationaliPodDay to all!!! It changed the music game and we're changing education one creative idea at a time.
A6: Music can also be used to set a tone and create community for professional learning time w Ts as they enter, while they work... I’m going to try to incorporate that... #remembertheADE2018playlist? #AppleEduChat#EveryoneCanCreate
