Welcome all to tonight's #G2Great chat "Reflect, Refocus, Renew: Refreshing Your Professional Spirit!"
We are so excited to have you here!
@DrMaryHoward@brennanamy@hayhurst3
Welcome to #G2Great friend. I apologize but I'm on a plane now so it’s ROBO MARY pretweets until I land (at least until I board flight #2). But you’re in amazing hands w/co moderators Fran Jenn & Amy until then @franmcveigh@brennanamy@hayhurst3
Hi #g2great friends! I'm Stephanie, a literacy teacher educator from NY looking forward to this topic tonight! I am tagging in @LitCoachConnect because I know they would love this topic too!
A 4 I try to get a good night’s sleep so I am high energy and enthusiastic when learning with students. Listening to their conversations and conferring provide super energy boosts. #g2great
A1: Social media helps me reflect. My reflections are found on:
Twitter
Voxer and
my blog.
Writing and speaking help me understand and reflect.
#G2Great
A1: My morning 'soft-start' helps me ease into the day: a good cup of coffee with my social media feed and customized Bloglovin email to spark reading, writing and inspiration! #g2great
A1 Solitude. I can't survive w/o it and while I couple ALONE by surrounding myself with others, it allows me to process my own thinking 1st. Time alone = personal must! #G2Great
A1: At the end of each quarter, we have a teacher work day in our corp. Great time to reflect and set new goals! Also, OLW (One Little Word) and chats like this help me to think. #G2Great
#g2great New teacher mentoring definitely instilled reflection as a practice for me. Doing it enough made it a habit. I don't really consciously need to remind myself to do it. I think I am always reflecting, refining, revising!
A1 Once I take time to reflect on my thinking alone, sharing those thoughts with others infuses new thinking by verbalizing what's in my head in the company of others. #G2Great
A1 Knowing that I'll intentionally think through an interaction during a coaching session, a lesson I've co-taught with a T or a conference with a student holds me accountable to reflect often. I have some coaching docs that guide my thinking for this kind of reflection #G2Great
Ok #G2Great friends You’ve got real Mary between flights… for a while yet. You have no idea how much I feel the calm comfort of this amazing group! Happy to be here (till the next flight)
A 5 When students have a hand in planning a class, arranging furniture, setting deadlines, choosing books and writing topics, and moving around during class they maintain high energy. Deadliest thing is to have to sit for 45-60 minutes. #g2great
A1 Having my morning coffee and going on Twitter helps me reflect. Also evening Twitter chats help me pause and reflect. It is taking the time, exchanging with other educators and pushing my learning. It is part of my daily schedule. Much needed. #g2great
#g2great (jumping in just in time - it's been a while!)
A1: posted goals and values that are visible help me to both make decisions and reflect on decisions; silence has been a huge help over the last few months to focus on what's already in my brain without adding more.
A1 Reflection is NOT a one-shot proposition for me. It occurs over time so I can come back to it. Also paper notes (yes paper) turns my in-the-head thinking into a visible reference tool. #G2Great
A1c: TOday I blogged while sitting at the desk with the secretary on a prep period, it was crazy al around and I really had to work to focus but it was great haha #G2Great
#G2great Thank you dear Mary. When I try to see the individuals it reminds me of why I’m here. It’s easy to lose sight of that with all we have on our plates as educators.
A1 I don't do it every day, but reflecting at the end of the day helps me to think on that day's work while it's still fresh. When Ss have gone home and Ts are finishing their day, I love to jot down thoughts about what went well, what needs to change. #G2Great
A2: In my teacher education class, we celebrate learning at the start of every seminar, which leads to a strengths-based lens for analyzing student performance and data. #g2great
A2: In PD I bring in what reasearch says, as well as "what are you currently doing?" and "what should you be doing more of?" for reflection. Always understand the WHY! & Focus on Ss!

I can only imagine the journey that would be reflected in your journal Yvette- and the incredible things you’ve done to get from there to here! #G2Great
A1 Having my morning coffee and going on Twitter helps me reflect. Also evening Twitter chats help me pause and reflect. It is taking the time, exchanging with other educators and pushing my learning. It is part of my daily schedule. Much needed. #g2great
I have to get into a habit of writing more in order to reflect. I actually spend a lot of time reflecting while I'm running. Often the best time for me to think. #g2great
#g2great Is there such a thing as too much reflection? Sometimes my head gets dizzy with all of my thoughts! Feel like I'm spinning in a rinse cycle of a washing machine!
A2 I don't believe reflection just happens at the end of teaching. If we're present in precious learning moments, rich opportunities tap us on the shoulder at all points in between. #G2Great
#G2Great It's been a while, but I'm glad to be back. Ashley from CT, Instructional Literacy Coach at elem level - and huge believer in reflection of adults and students alike. <3 excited for this topic!
Time glorious time Roman. We make time for what we value and like many others… we value the learning and friendships that rise from the twitter experience #G2Great

A2 I try to use discussions and conferences with my students to reflect on teaching amd learning. It is about them, so I need to involve them in the process. They are amazing learners & leaders. I also love to exchange with close friends/colleagues to have added input. #g2great
A2: Reflection in the class is all about the conversations with my Ss. I need to know what they think is working for them, and them to know what is working for me. We are partners in that place and I think we do an injustice not including their stories in our reflection #g2great
First, NO I don’t believe so and second that has to be the best description I’ve ever seen…. but when it comes out of that spin cycle (even jumbled a bit) somehow good thoughts rise from it all (hi friend) #G2Great
#g2great Is there such a thing as too much reflection? Sometimes my head gets dizzy with all of my thoughts! Feel like I'm spinning in a rinse cycle of a washing machine!
#G2Great
A2: I do work to videotape and then watch myself. I debrief with colleagues. I ask my students to reflect themselves. I constantly am asking, "what am I seeing? why might that be? what comes next?"
A2 After a day of subbing, I’ll take some time to talk to the other teacher about the day. Great insight, great questions and look how things can change if we... #g2great
A2 I don't think that we give ourselves the gift of time. Even a few minutes to reflect after a lesson with quick anecdotal notes can leave a powerful power trail of possibility. #G2Great
A2: Since I don't have one classroom this year, I take observation notes all the time. I look up articles, read research, and chat w/friends like you all! #G2Great
A2: I ask students from time to time if our time learning together seemed to go by fast or slow. If they think it went by fast it’s because they were engaged. If slow, I need to rethink some approaches and make adjustments for the next period. #g2great
A2 My husband and I have been team teaching all week. We debriefed each grade level lesson, made changes and taught the lesson with the changes to the next class. It was awesome. By the third time we had some great changes. #G2Great
I often ask my students to reflect on what we do, or even share with me what they think. Many are more than willing to be honest about it. I learn so much from them. #G2Great

It's not done in a very cohesive manner. Sometimes it's just scribbled on a piece of scrap paper. I've tried to tape them altogether into a journal- all my reflections haven't made it into the journal though. I've also lost 1 or 2 along my journey #g2great
#g2great A2 Reflecting on classroom mostly comes from students' interactions and facial expressions. I also pay attention to how my Ss are acting outside of classroom to see if our culture transfers elsewhere in building.

A2 Kids can be a reflection mirror as we turn thinking outward. Thinking aloud in front of kids helps me make my thinking public & empowers new thinking (mine & theirs). #G2Great
A2 Honestly, I don't do as much of this as I should. We use what worked/didn't work with many things like book clubs, small group work. Need to do more consistently. #g2great

A2~ I try hard to jot a few notes down at several pints in the lesson. Post -it notes are helpful for me at times and a simple chat w/ support staff for reflection always works for growth 😊#G2Great
A2 I facilitate a west side network held in my classroom for LA and Santa Monica which is sponsored by Cotsen @CotsenAoT#g2great This is a wonderful group of teachers who meet and are able to reflect together. Also this chat is so inspiring for reflection.
A2: Today I asked my students to help me reflect on my writing. What the meaning could be beyond the literal. I knew what I was thinking but it was cool to see what they were interpreting #G2Great
A2 Reflection with my kids comes in 2 ways. I have planned conferences and keep lots of notes (each Ss has a conf. mini notebook) The other is just spontaneous conversations - I try to write those down as well, but it doesn't always happen #g2great
Sometimes those slowing down moments fill us up most. I have to have my morning for reflecting - even if I have to get up REALLY early to do it. #G2Great
How powerful just a couple minutes would be! I think it would be possible too! I need to let myself slow down and I could make this happen at least a few times a day!
A3: Engage Ss in self-reflection: R and W conferences. Checklists and micro-progressions all help Ss self-reflect. Hattie- self-assessment = 1.33 effect size. THIRD of 195 influences!
Critical
Not just "counting" items.
Must be about QUALITY!
#G2Great
Oh ugh… that was too quick. I need to board this second flight (because I’m not walking) and will try to get back on my phone before it takes off. How rude to mess up my precious chat time #G2Great
A3 We become the model for what it means to make our thinking public. When we demonstrate this regularly and invite them to do the same, we are teaching a life skill! #G2Great
A2-I reflect on all aspects of teaching and learning including social emotional and basic needs of students. Some Ss come to school hungry, tired, and not ready to learn. They need Love and connection first. #G2Great
A2 It's so important for us to involve Ss in that reflection process. Asking Ss daily to write or respond in the moment about the ways in which the environment and community are contributing to their learning. Ask them. They will tell you what's working well or not. #G2Great
A3: Still trying to get my students to reflect on their own thinking, still very "Just tell me the answer" I think it will take time to move this thinking but it is worth every moment. #G2Great
I teach 1st but try to regularly check in with my class. I ask them what did you think about that lesson? I teach GT so I get the honest truth. It helps me reflect. #g2great
My students are more willing to reflect when they don't any pressure. They have reflection conversations with one another, and sometimes with me. I can learn a lot from small reflection groups. #G2Great
A3 #g2great Anytime a day has felt hard, or a lesson tricky, I ask them to reflect with me and tell me what felt good, and what felt tricky. We reflect on our schedule, our community, our communication when problems come up.
A3 If I want students to reflect, I need to reflect with them. I need to show them my own ups and downs and how I make sense of them. Then I need to let them feel their own reflections and accompany them in the thought/reflection process. Work on it together. #g2great
Middle schoolers don't really know how to reflect, or even what they really think, without a lot of practice and talking. Show them your process. #G2Great
A3: Still trying to get my students to reflect on their own thinking, still very "Just tell me the answer" I think it will take time to move this thinking but it is worth every moment. #G2Great
A3 Not to simplify it, but above all we SHUT UP! We're so busy talking that we forget to pause, look in their very wise eyes and truly LISTEN! My mouth closed = KID TALK! #G2Great
A3 I have always had my students reflect in a journal but I've just read Hacking The Writing Workshop and I'm going to be more intentional based on what I learned. @AngelaStockman#g2great
A2~ common practice throughout our day we say, sing, chant ( whatever works at the moment)the following-read about it... talk about it... think about it... write about it... #G2Great
A3 in my position I support the teacher and their work with their Sts and whenever it’s appropriate I am that extra ear to listen and support the Sts learning and reflections about their academic and social needs. #g2great
A3 Ss start the year by reflecting on type of reader & writer they are. By 1st p/t conf, Ss check themselves against where they started & are typically amazed at growth. They also do self assessments 2X/yr to take stock. Try to get them to reflect on writing weekly. WIP #g2great
A3: Create opportunities for students to reflect on their learning, reading, writing moves, and goals by embedding it in lessons. Check out one student’s reflective blog: https://t.co/vZpHY4Led5#g2great
I work on a lot of SE skills as well. I model how to give feedback so people will listen to them. I teach in a Title I school so I think it is important for them to learn how to give constructive feedback. I told them I want them to always be listened to - always. #g2great
My principal has us respond to a question, then put our response in an envelope and give to her. She hands back each quarter to add to thinking. Great idea! #G2Great
A3 Student reflection isn't something to be scheduled but a reflective culture we create. Reflective talk is the great equalizer of meaning making AND powerful on the spot assessment! #G2Great
#g2great A3 Anytime I make a change or decision based on a reflection, I tell my Ss about it. I say my reflections in the same way that I think aloud. Then, when I ask them to join in, they are totally open to it. We also reflect on growth a lot.
A3 Ss are more willing to reflect when they feel safe and have community in a classroom. I spend a lot of time trying to build that sort of classroom environment. I am lucky bc I loop. I have a lot of kids w disabilities- we learn from them #G2great
#G2Great
A3: My kids use technology a lot to capture their thoughts. I try to keep reflection going through the process and not just the end product (if there is one) - otherwise it is about the answer and not about the work they're doing. I've also done journals and blogs.
A3 Student reflection isn't something to be scheduled but a reflective culture we create. Reflective talk is the great equalizer of meaning making AND powerful on the spot assessment! #G2Great
#g2great I am trying to be very aware of wait time. I have one S in particular who struggles w/proximity issues, yet is not producing work. Challenging to know when to push and when to pull back.
A3. This gave me pause. I wanted to say of course I engage my students (usually adults) in reflection, but I don’t. The work we compose is reflective. That’s part of the design. But I need to incorporate those opportunities. #G2Great
A3-After each round of workshop time I ask Ss to reflect on how they did. What went well, what could they improve next time. I appreciate their honesty. As an Admin I ask Ss to reflect on how their actions made others feel and what they can do differently next time. #G2Great
a4: Learning other non education things that somehow I can always pull into my teaching. Love https://t.co/ls5fmRcAaX. Worth the money - do it as a family. #g2great
Yes. My daughter's school builds in time to talk about projects and written reflection is part of every homework assignment as well. Constantly finding ways to incorporate students' thoughts. #G2Great#LitBankStreet
A3 Student reflection isn't something to be scheduled but a reflective culture we create. Reflective talk is the great equalizer of meaning making AND powerful on the spot assessment! #G2Great
#g2great This! We can help gently nudge in small group settings, like book clubs, so the message doesn't get lost or watered down AND also encourage whole group for extra reinforcement.
A4: Reading a good book, Playing Nintendo, Planning (for real I love it) and spending time that is free oh heavy thinking. In the summer it is all about the sun and a book. In the winter it is all about counting down for SUN AND A BOOK #G2Great
Q4: I am on Spring Break and am being intentional on my time with family and friends. That way on Monday I'll be intentional on my time with my class. I don't want to be tired by Monday morning. #g2great
A4: I go to mini weekend workshops and schedule my summer conferences. Makes me SO HAPPY to be in good company and fire up again! This weekend, book launch party in Kalamazoo, MI. June is almost full, too! #G2Great
A3 I frequently show students their past work so they can reflect on their growth. Using visual learning sequences so they know where they are on the continuum. #G2Great
Q4 Slowing myself down and living in the moment instead of always thinking about the next thing I'm off to do. I've found myself in the past not even being able to listen well to Ss or Ts because I'm living in the "next thing". This year I've really worked on that. #G2Great
That is such an important statement Andy. We have to keep our eyes on that wonderful goal at all time. Sometimes it’s hard to let go… but let go we must! #G2Great

#g2great
"I don't need help"
"I know what I'm doing"
mutters, mutters, mutters, makes faces, then mutters
Home life is messy. So hard to reach unapproachable Ss sometimes.
A3: What does this make you think? Wonder? Realize? It’s part of our discussions every single day in all areas of the curriculum. The students naturally use those stems to drive reflective conversations. Collaborative reflection yards deep learning. #G2Great
A4 My husband and yoga help me to renew myself. I also spend a lot of time writing fiction and creating visual art. I love fine arts! Museums, films, reading great literature- all help me to transcend. #g2great
A4 I have to disconnect from my day or what I have to do the next day when I get home. The mindset that a better me is a better teacher helps subside the teacher guilt for not working at night. Also 1-2x week leave when it is light out! Make time for self care
#g2great
A4 I go to the gym to help find balance, to reflect and to reconnect with me. It is tough to always find time to do so regularly, but the benefits are huge. I also have a great accountability friend. When he goes and I haven’t, I kick my butt into gear. #g2great
A4 I know some would argue but social media IS one way that I refresh my energy. I love thinking in the company of others as it allows me to have those meaningful conversations. #G2Great

A4 Friends & family for sure. I need to be surrounded by those I love & admire. I'm very lucky to have both in my life and they add so much to my personal refresh potential. #G2Great
#G2Great
A4: also: actually leave my room to each lunch in the teachers room, take a walk around the parking lot on sunny days, do a quick 5-10 minute meditation
A4: The BEST way I refresh and maintain my energy to teach is by surrounding myself with colleagues that encourage me as they push my thinking. Some of my best encouragers are here on #g2great; within my #TeachWrite tribe; and Voxer friends.
I am the biggest PEN snob in the world (pencil snob too). It depends on my mood and my thinking. I wish we’d give kids that freedom as well and not insist on pens over pencils. Let them choose! #G2Great
#g2great A4 I need to make self-care a priority - getting enough sleep, eating healthy and not too late, walking Leo in the fresh air no matter the weather, and a mix of exercising, both individual at home, and in classes to be social and motivated to push myself.
A4 Ways to refresh ourselves to give students 100%: engage in our passions, be positive, be patient with self, listen to student voices. #G2great. (Carol here from Long Island - just popped in)

@brennanamy, @DrMaryHoward, @hayhurst3, @franmcveigh
A5 Create classrooms that OOZE with joyful learning. More time to collaborate and engage in self-selected talk & reading. I consider joy a professional responsibility. PERIOD! #G2Great

A5: It can't always be about work. We recharge lately talking Fortnight ? Some game they love and the value of a bitcoin. We explore what they want to do some of the time and what we need to do the other. Some days we just read because well...we do #G2Great
A5 Sandwich unstructured and structured activities on our schedule. Reading Teach Like Finland and they do 15 min breaks for every 45 min of content in older grades. #G2Great
I agree!!! I am always so energized by others on Twitter (although must admit, can feel overwhelmed by trying to keep up). Overall though, it inspires me to do a better job tomorrow.
A4-I love to swim, walk my dogs, go to conferences, spend time with family & friends, read, listen to music, connect with awesome #G2great friends, voxer , twitter. Reflect on what matters most in life....Relationships and spreading kindness! #G2Great
A4: This will probably sound antithetical to the question, but, for me, it's about period "stoppage." No reading. No documentary. No making. Just for a moment. I'll zone out and come back to myself and think, "That was just the silence I needed." Then, back to it all. #g2great
A5 Kids have got to have time where they can read quietly in books they've chosen. I see the magic when they get extended time to read daily. Rarely do I see a S excited that IR time is over. They always protest when it ends. #G2Great
A5 I love giving brain breaks sometimes it's gonoodle, sometimes it's a puzzle or something I find in a book, sometimes it's jumping on a mini trampoline, sometimes I let Ss choose #g2great
#G2Great
A5: I ask them! They help make decisions. Keep routines and expectations consistent so energy isn't used up wondering/worrying about what is coming next. Learn their body language (and my own) and model that type of thinking.
.@NowakRo thank you for always having a view that is community minded, uplifting and inspirational. I look forward to your tweets, always. Thanks for lifting me up. #G2Great#litbankstreet
A5~ we dance to @GoNoodle, sing loud for breaks, quiet zones, and the most fabulous "curbside" learning chair the littles just ❤️& comfort blankets just because, #G2Great
A5 Stretch breaks are so important! We also do "mental flosses." Imagine a piece of dental floss going in one ear and out the other, then moving your arms back and forth by your ears like windshield wipers. It works! #G2great
A5 Refresh begins w/a positive and supportive learning environment grounded in caring relationships. W/o that we're just sucking the very life energy from the learning air. #G2Great
Sorry I am late to the conversation. Full school day followed by Dual Credit PD with coordinating college followed by a board meeting. Just getting home. Take that, Betsy (wink). #g2great

Yes! And also as kids get older, I also give them just a little quiet time to read, write, tinker after lunch. Even with breaks, sometimes they need space from each other. #g2great
A3: (I think) We have 8 2nd grade Ts In an hour, our principal had 4 of us go in & observe another teacher for 20 minutes and then meet in the hall to debrief. Discussed what we loved, what we wondered about, and one practice that we want to try. Then we switched. 💕#G2Great

.@DrLMaucione I feel the same way. Any morning I can move my body I feel better. Running, yoga, the gym. The body helps the brain work. Hope you get a run tomorrow morning! #G2Great#litbankstreet
A6: This next week, checking in on some learners (Ss & Ts). Are they ready for the final sprint of the year? Well-rested, firing on all cylinders, engaged, active?
#G2Great
Morning meeting is one of my favorite times of the day. Closing meeting too, I use to have students shout out other students in the room that did something to make them feel special - so much love #g2great
A5 OK so you mayhave guessed by my name that St. P’s Day is big for me- let’s just say one fun refresher for kids is the green leprechaun footprints all over desks followed by a rollicking funpacked day (still can’t get green off my hand!) #g2great
A6 I always say I'll take in a movie each weekend but I've been remiss of late. I think this is a good weekend for a movie. It FORCES me to close the computer & rest my brain. #G2Great
A6: My goal this week? To finish my 'Instagram Project' article: a piece on using Instagram to better connect with children's literature and our students as readers. #g2great
A5 I taught all of the “accelerated” students (1st-6th grades) yesterday during their WIN time. I I ntroduced BHH from Disrupting Thinking...it was like Christmas. They kept giving me gifts of their thinking! 💖#G2Great
A5 Get to know them, give them more leadership in their learning, trust them to take a break when needed. If we want students to learn how to be reflective/responsible leaerners, we need to let them learn and try. Be there to support them with their learning needs. #g2great
a6: In my writer’s notebook, I am interested lately in comparing two unrelated things in my entries. My goal is to do more of this and see where it takes me. #g2great.
A6: Real talk...get my marking done...But FUN goal to get back to writing a book...lol It is so hard to feel like your thoughts might be of use to others haha #G2Great
We had a foot of snow so I've been unable to run for a few days, but enough has melted that it's in the plan for tomorrow. I've already got my running clothes ready! #G2Great
.@cvarsalona@MermelsteinLeah I totally believe this and it's totally difficult for me. So much better when I have a compatriot. I'll never let down a friend who wants to explore a passion or take a break. #G2Great#litbankstreet
Q6: This week is Spring Break - so we will be doing a lot of revisiting of our goals and behaviors. I want to encourage them to be ready to head toward the finish line of 1st grade to be ready for 2nd. #g2great
#g2great I used to love Morning Meeting - we are in a bit of a rut lately, especially with all of the missed days due to snow! Need to re-boot our MM! May turn it over to Ss once a week to see how that goes - used to do that in 5th. Think my 4s can manage well.
Okay, I’m not happy about this but the flight door just closed and I don’t want to be on YouTube tonight because they had to rip this computer from my hands mid air. Thank you for warming my #G2Great soul wonderful friends!
I have handed over the reigns to my 5th grade ss to plan and execute our new Student Book Ambassadors Program. They are on fire! We even have subcommittees now! #G2Great#LitBankStreet

Q6: Next 2 weeks I want to do one book talk per day before spring break; continue MarchBookMadness voting; have Ss check out books again. Testing is over ! (For now) #g2great
#G2Great
A6: 1) Revisit and modify my reflection routines as a coach. 2) Revise my professional learning plan (aka stack of books) in an order that meets my goals and needs. 3) Enjoy Saturday and Sunday without thinking of either of those things.
Good evening #G2great friends. Does anyone know of software or online programs to give layout suggestions based on your classroom and furniture dimensions? If not, I guess I just gave someone a new idea...
A6 My goal is to have a bit more time to read my various professional books, to recharge and prioritize. On Spring Break, so it is great to unwind and put work aside a bit. #g2great
A6 I've been reading some research this week (our spring break, so I've got lots of time) and I want to go back to the bits I've marked and really think about the implications. During the school year, I don't often get to read at that level. #G2Great
A5: This will sound like I am just building off of Question 4, but this is the whole air mask thing, right? I have to have this time for students to realize this feel in the room. Kids will follow the energy. Or the lack thereof. Law of the Lid: I'm down; we're down. #g2great
@franmcveigh I am guessing by your retweet and surname that you love St. P’s Day too! I used to sing ballads in my dad’s Irish pub. #KissMeImIrish#g2great
A6 Now that the weather is getting nicer it's time to start back to daily walks. Music nature and my thoughts makes for a perfect refresh opportunity. Yep time to get back to joyful walks! #G2Great
A6: Share my thinking in two presentations at the @michiganreading conference this weekend. Continue #SOL18. Read. Finish a poem I am revising. #g2great
A6 I have many projects I am working on to extend my professional curiosity, Wonder, and learning and my love for writing (am working on designing my winter gallery of artistic expressions, #WinterWonderland18). #G2Great

Okay, I’m not happy about this but the flight door just closed and I don’t want to be on YouTube tonight because they had to rip this computer from my hands mid air. Thank you for warming my #G2Great soul wonderful friends!
.@DrMaryHoward You are the BEST! You should see us here....all typos are the fault of the potholes!!! Happy to join in. I was sad I couldn't join in last week. #G2Great#Friends
A6 In a little over a week @pennykittle@KellyGToGo will be in DFW for a day long training. I cannot wait for that day of learning. They always inspire and challenge. #G2Great
A6 My goal now that I am off again...write another section of my book. The struggle is real. I also look forward to encouraging my graduate students by preparing them for the RICA. Love my life. #G2Great
A6 I'm not sure REFRESHING energy is always planned. I love spontaneous moments that cry for me to shut the world off and go inward. In the moment refresh ROCKS! #G2Great

I'm reading Hacking The Writing Workshop @AngelaStockman I actually finished it already but each chapter comes with loads of additional information (docs, pics, etc) so I'm finishing reading all the additional materials #g2great
A7 When I'm w/kids I want them to know by my actions that there's NOWHERE else I'd rather be in the world than w/them. If they feel MY curiosity energy it elevates theirs! #G2Great
A7: I am going to start using @colbysharp Creativity Project, letting my students explore their thoughts while following the thoughts of artists of creation. #G2Great
A7 Two classes where I support will be starting a new round of book clubs. It's always so fun to see Ss get started in new books and hear their discussions. Love watching kids fall in love with new books. #G2Great
Q6: I have a three-day work week next week heading into Spring Break. The family is going in different directions leaving Mr. Hankins at home for about a week. Home Alone. Let the reading and the writing and the making. . .continue (only in more quiet surroundings). #g2great

A7 I don't know we can refresh Std curiosity/optimism if it's not what also resides deep w/in US. That's not an activity but a way of life -the only way I know how to live. #G2Great

Mary I had a strange joyful walk at the beach - sun shining but winds were whipping. I wrote about it because it was a mix of being at my happiness place & freezing. LOL #G2Great
#g2great That was going to be my answer to 7 - get them excited about new books! I set up a Donor's Choose and am more than half-way to my goal due to first project matching! New books will soon be in the classroom! So there you go - A7!

A7 If I was in a classroom next week I would continue using BHH and then let them research what they wondered about. Yesterday was magical letting them “wonder”. #G2Great
A7 Always use an inspiring quote and thought to start the day. Together see how we can make our learning have impact on others. To have kids be optimistic, we must be right there with them. Spread the joy. Be the sunshine. Radiate for them. #g2great
A7 Our classrooms can only be as positive and curious as we are. Our joyful curiosity & optimism is the gift we give kids - and we cheat them if we withhold either one! #G2Great
#g2great We will be starting new ones soon as well...timing is always tricky - one group is completely finished, another with one meeting to go...the third has a few more meetings til end of book...may do short books with 2 groups mixed until the third is ready...ugh!
