A1 My students all improved in a reading diagnostic assessment that we do. The positive was their pride in accomplishment that they felt more confident. #5thChat
A2 A fixed mindset can be limiting- people give up before they even try something new. Our self-talk influences our beliefs, behaviors, goals, etc. #5thchat
A1 my second is that we started working on @Flipgrid this week, and oh my goodness did it open a door to so many possibilities and opportunities for all learners! #5thChat
A3. A growth mindset sees challenges and finds ways to make them manageable. They are the people who find ways to continue to grow, and change the way the think and learn. #5thchat
A4: I was born premature, and I learned to overcome obstacles. I think the same is true with a growth mindset. I am not afraid to make mistakes because I know that I can improve. #5thchat
A4: It allows you to realize a potential you never knew you had. Powerful stuff, especially if it happens on a widespread level within our society. #5thchat
A4. Our mindset should change as we learn. We take in new information as life-long learners, and we should be wanting to achieve the best for ourselves so that we can help others achieve their best. #5thchat
A4 So that when things don't come easy to you, you'll dig in and work through the struggle because you know that eventually you will get there. #5thChat

A5: I teach my students to have a growth mindset by using the power of yet if they tell me that they do not understand something. I add "...yet" to the end of their statements. #5thchat
#5thchat A3 A growth mindset = the concept of #BELIEVING that your potential is not limited. That if you #Believe ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! I have done this for 28 years. The stories I can tell. #Believe in your students and watch them learn.
A5 I talk it up when they mastered a challenging skill that they thought was "too hard" to master. We conference about their growth. Our counselor does a great lesson on it and then we build from there. #5thChat
#5thchat A4 A #growthmindset IS ESSENTIAL for ALL educators. NEVER view your students as limited. #BELIEVE in them AT ALL TIMES! Tell them they are AWE_some They will see themselves as the way you speak of them. #BeenThereDoneThat
A5: Embrace failure in the classroom. Celebrate 1st tries and encourage redos. Always ask students to reflect and extend their understanding to consider the potential for improvement #5thchat
A7 I am going through this now with my class. Several are challenged by long division and started shutting down. I had to pull them back onto the flight to greatness with me today Lol. #5thChat
#5thchat A7 My greatest success story is teaching an 8th grade girl that never passed math and came in with a 7th grade 38% state assessment score. She soaked in ALL my #Believe sayings. That spring she scored an 86% on the state exam, 1 away from commended. #Believe
A8 I make it a point to share new information that I learned and my growth when I conquer a challenge. I also make sure to show them when I struggle with things and when it's not pretty, but I won't give up on myself. #5thChat
#5thchat My goal is an educator is for my Ss to describe me with the #FruitsOfTheSpirit in the end of the year. WALK THE TALK AND LOVE YOUR STUDENTS! You will change who they are.
