A1: As a literacy coach, my goal over the next few weeks is to focus on responsive instruction for middle school teachers. I'm developing a middle school institute, and am doing lots of research! I'm hoping to be finished and ready to vet by SB. #txeduchat

So right now leading to SBk... the focus is to improve persuasive writing skills, specifically idea development/ solid body pars. And cross genre analysis- authors craft, purpose and theme. #txeduchat

A3: In order to be successful, I need to continue talking to middle school teachers and getting into their world. The heavy lifting, for me, is staying relevant, showing teachers what's possible in their classrooms even when I don't have my own anymore. #txeduchat
  • catydear Feb 19 @ 9:25 PM EST

I must truly model the thinking I expect and how to develop and analysis. I must be prepared to offer multiple scaffolds to encourage discourse and drive analysis. #txeduchat

A4: For me, the value of the work I'm trying to do is that it is possible for middle school students to fall in love with reading. If teachers will buy in and be willing to try, I'm excited to see what changes could be possible! #txeduchat
  • catydear Feb 19 @ 9:30 PM EST
When you're providing scaffolded support in your classroom, what does that look like? #txeduchat

  • Lit_Bark Feb 19 @ 9:30 PM EST
I thin we are covering very relevant themes. I want students to be apply to make connections to texts so they can expand how they approach situations. I want them to master skills w/engaging materials so they transfer important skills to other content areas and life. #txeduchat

I love to do assessments throughout the lesson! I ask a lot of probing questions and give encouraging feedback for correct answers. I love this kid of assessment because it creates conversation between students and teacher #Sp19EDFB4338 #txeduchat

I love that you are going above and beyond and learning the vision of the new standards and not just focusing on how you will teach it. I feel Teaching comes natural if you know the meaning of the standards #Sp19EDFB4338 #txeduchat
