A1: I try to deliver my math lesson in two small groups so I can differentiate what is needed for the lesson and stations/rotations, and then we switch. #4thchat
A2: Students are more apt to participate. You can really work with the kids more one-on-one and see strengths/weaknesses. You can also fix misconceptions easier. The list goes on and on! #4thchat
A2: Differentiated instruction, time to meet with small groups who need extra help, building math independence in Ss some of the benefits of #MathWorkshop. #4thchat
A3 Some weeks it takes longer than others. I love anything with dice or cards. That simplies things. I'm curious what rotations other teacher use. #4thchat
My Math pages https://t.co/L3T1z1eh8o I know what you will say it "figures" that Cybrary Man would keep "adding" or "multiplying" to his pages as well as "subtracting" the old links. #4thchat
A5: Mine are stored in the wooden shelf provided by the school. Extras are on top of the shelf and bins are all around the classroom being used. They are even found in my pockets most often! #4thchat
A3. It does take time to organize, but once you establish a routine, and an organization that works for your teaching style, it does not seem like a lot of extra work. #4thchat
A5. Tubs are great. I have a whole caddy filled with tubs with all sorts of tools that the Ss can access. Make sure to set expectations that they keep it organized. It helps. #4thchat
And this is what is so great about teaching math in small group, I have time for games. Math games are so important for not only building math skills, but building all the character and communication skills it takes to play a game with another person. #4thchat
I do. I have an independent station that is the game. I usually will introduce a game on Monday, let them play it for a day or two, then adapt and change rules as needed through the week. #4thchat.
Most times I do not, because of time, but I do a group intro at the beginning to put students back in the context of where we were the last time we met. #4thchat
Hey everyone! @plnauge has having trouble with Tweetdeck and wanted me to thank everyone for tonight’s #4thchat. Until next week, go forth and be fabulous!
