TNedchat is a way for educators in Tennessee to share thoughts, resources, and information. The weekly chat is moderated by Jessica Warner (@jessawarner) and Samantha Bates (@sjsbates).
A1: I would want to learn more about differing county requirements, creative and effective teaching strategies, and the biggest issues affecting specific counties. #tnedchat
A1) a)Building VR experiences for students b) Coding/ Programming with script c) How to disrupt the digital divide so that students and teachers are using the tech as tools that enhances learning. #TnEdChat
A1: I would like to learn more about the use of technology in the classroom, how to grow my professional learning network, and how to implement flexible seating in the classroom. #tnedchat
A1: A few things I would like to learn about are the best way to set goals for your classroom, how to break bad habits, and how to manage stress #tnedchat
A1: A few things I would like to learn about are the best way to set goals for your classroom, how to break bad habits, and how to manage stress #tnedchat
I would also like to learn more about how to set goals in the classroom! I think it is important to set attainable goals for the students individually and the classroom as a whole! #tnedchat
A1) 1. Deep delve into Google G-Suite 2. Learn more coding (suck at this!) 3. Develop more quality fun maths lessons in @DeckToys to teach my kids & share to other educators worldwide #tnedchat
A1: As a diversity club advisor, I'd like to learn more about cultural responsiveness, integrating more race/culture into subjects, & how to keep low-economic families involved #tnedchat
Differentiated learning is my sticking point too. I know how to do it, but it definitely takes work. A lot of my students NEED more of it for sure! #TNEdchat
I like that you mentioned "technology purpose." For me, this is briefly mentioned when new tech is being rolled out but perhaps not always long-term purpose. #tnedchat
For sure! I have a few that have mastered or almost mastered a lot of our standards. I occasionally have behavior issues so I need to start getting them started on other higher level thinking projects. #TNEdchat
A2 personally I struggle with time availability! I have a large family and a lot of things going on on a daily basis. I need to work on my prioritizing and maximizing educational success although I feel as if I have already improved immensely #TNEdchat
A2: The feeling of having to place my needs and wants on hold in order to control behaviors of Ss and not allow those behaviors to impact others #tnedchat
A2: Personally, laziness. I know that I have the capability of doing things well by the last minute, so I tend to procrastinate instead of using all the time I have to make something the best that I can. But when I do use all the time I have, I knock it out of the park! #tnedchat
A2: Work, lack of time, and as much as I work on it and try to fix it, poor prioritization sometimes get in the way of me meeting my own learning goals #tnedchat
A2: I think lack of time will be the biggest road block that I will face as a teacher. Before becoming an educator, I hope to expand my time management skills and discover new ways to combat this issue! #tnedchat
A lot of "new" ways are hard for my students at times. They are not very independent and I have been trying to figure out ways to lead them slowly to independent learning so they will enjoy more project based style lessons and learning. #runonsentence#TNEdchat
Kayla your "students first" attitude and drive for your students is inspiring. Your desire to show the importance of relationships is to be showcased!#tnedchat

YES! We could have quite a bit of extra time if we can get them in high gear at times. That is a huge part of teaching I am learning (2nd year) we do get things done, just at a snail's pace mostly! #TNEdchat
A3: I want to get a huge planner and write down EVERYTHING to the smallest details. I've read that writing down your tasks makes you more likely to complete them.
#tnedchat
A3 I think I can make school more of a priority. Of course it is important to me but sometimes I feel my drive slipping and I have to tighten it up #TNEdchat
A3. The limitation of time to spend on interests can only be helped by making good use of the time I have. Boring answer, but it’s true. Like choosing which chats to join. 😉 #TnEdChat
I’ve noticed the more people I can surround myself with that have similar goals the better I do with my pursuit of education #TnEdChat gotta love some friendly competition
A3 last week I took a lot of time away from Twitter because had first book's draft due, it was tough to break away from the learning, but also tough to stay up till 2 every night #tnedchat
A3: I can overcome my limitations of allowing S behaviors having an impact by scheduling time for me at a certain point during the day (probably at the end would be best!) #TnEdChat
Definitely have to master the multi-task! I now have my phone read to me anytime I can. Dishes done and info gained from blogsnkr emails at same time. #TnEdChat
A4: Team/PLN/District can help with goals by being willing to collaborate/connect/communicate for a common goal...guess what that is...#WhatsBestForKids#tnedchat
A4) My Squad pushes me to do great things. They hold me accountable for the things I need to do and drag me through the tough times... thanks @juliedavisEDU#TnEdChat
A4: My team can help me by offering their ideas, experience, and resources. For example, I highly doubt I will know what to do in every situation, but I can easily ask someone what they would do/should do.
#tnedchat
A4: Be open to my PLN on what I intend to achieve. Then garner as much support as needed, whether just a little 'hey, how u doin'?' pep talk. Or getting tips from them. It starts with me to reach out! #tnedchat
A4 with support and constructive criticism. Sometimes somebody has to be brutally honest and that is ok it is vital to development and improvement! #TNEdchat
So thankful that my pln is full of highly motivated edus. Just interacting with them helps me focus on goals to improve myself and my practice. #TnEdChat

A4 Professional development days spent on time to grow not just mostly information. Different opportunities to learn from different people and about multiple topics. More opportunities to present content to others (helps you make sure you know it!) #tnedchat
This is similar to what I said but better stated! We need to have more professional development days spent growing together with and from one another! #tnedchat
Yes! Check out @breakoutEDU! I kicked off Staff Development w/it. I just made the challenges from things my admin wanted Ts to know. It beat reading through a binder!

A5: I have a myriad of feelings on this. I am google certified 1 & 2 because I felt it help me to understand but to just be a brander of companies isn't what I want to be. If you don't truly believe in it, don't do it. You are what you support. #tnedchat
A5: Personally, I love an ambassador or certification learning environment. i love the virtual/real-life swag, but mostly love connecting to other educators who are passionate as I am!

A5: I think it depends on the company. I know Google has many certification levels, but Coca Cola has brand ambassadors that need to know their stuff. Either way, the benefit is better knowing a product you believe in.
#tnedchat
A5 I think certifications are a great motivator for those like myself that like to reach a goal and a way of feeling accomplished. Technology is never completely mastered but growing skills with a tool can be achieved and should be acknowledged! #tnedchat
A5 I think no matter what #edtech certification you seek, the biggest benefit is the people you encounter along the way. All the different companies compliment each other most of the time. #TnEdChat#googleet
A5: while I think there might be agendas, what i find with the people working for those companies in those capacities are people genuinely passionate about bettering education and improving educators. The “badging” does give extrinsic rewards & recognition to devoted Ts #tnedchat
A6: Twitter chats, attending/presenting at conferences to make connections and learn, following trends via educational blogs, etc, #chaedu coffeeedu and #edcampgigcity#tnedchat
A6: I love watching TED Talks and listening to stories about types of lifestyles. Doing this, I taught myself not to worry about things that have already happened and that I have no control over their outcomes.
#tnedchat
A6: My best resource for ersonal growth and learning for me is the @DiscoveryEd Network. I'm a better person all around (professionally and personally) because of my DEN Family!
#denchat#tnedchat
A6: I know it may be pandering, but twitter chats are great! I also have found Ted talks to be inspiring and Pocket to have worthwhile readings. #tnedchat

#tnedchat
A5: Some inevitably do, but the beauty of it is that you get to choose what you support. Pour time and energy into what you believe in! I'm also beginning to see the value of pouring some of that time and energy into making connections along the way! #tnedchat
A6 Never thought I would say Twitter :) But yes, and also @voxer with #my53s and #4OCFPLN and #EduGladiators , I learn a lot by being involved with ISTE, currently taking a course on AI and it is amazing!! #tnedchat
A6 There’s no question that my twitter connections have made me a better edu. Also rely on podcasts, YouTube channels, and blogs to keep me in the know. #youdontknowhatyoudontknow#TnEdChat
