A1: I just spent a beautiful weekend at a yoga retreat in the hill country. It was good to reset things and gain some energy and focus for the upcoming weeks. #txeduchat
A1 My team and I plan a dinner about every 2-4 weeks, chat on a group text often, and schedule in after school laugh sessions. We’re not just supporting our Ss; we’re supporting eachother. #txeduchat

A1 We are lucky to have a pool in the backyard. A quick 30 minute dip is just the right thing after I get home. Water is warming up nicely now! #txeduchat

A2: I find that meal-prepping on Sunday night helps a ton! I always take a snack of cheese, almonds and dried fruit to have mid-morning. I'm easier to get along with if I'm not hungry! Also, taking lunch is key! #txeduchat
A2: #TXEduChat just got done boiling our eggs & cutting up the veggies for our lunches this week! Semi #MealPrep I guess, makes the mornings so much easier!
Eating healthy is hard for sure during Teacher Appreciation Week and the week leading up to Winter Break. I try to balance my breakfast and dinner on those weeks so I can enjoy the "sweets" #txeduchat
Taking my lunch every day has been a game changer for me too. I have more control on what I put into my body to fuel me for the second half of the day. #txeduchat
A3 Sometimes we become addicted to over-working...And we don't even know it...I like to read at least 1 hr before bed to make a point to stop working...Then try to grab 5,6, or 7 hrs hopefully... #txeduchat
A3: Phone is on Do Not Disturb starting at 10pm! Most of my family is in Oregon, and those late night group messages were interrupting my sleep, here in TX. #txeduchat
#txeduchat The “sleep” tracker on my FitBit showed me truly how little sleep I get. I am lucky to get 5 and a half a night...really thought it was more.

Q4: The stronger your lungs are, the deeper breaths you can take. This leads to clarity of thought! I am definitelymore productive when in s regular exercise routine. #workout#txeduchat
#txeduchat A4: I try to walk a brisk mile every day on top of my normal activity. It’s just the boost I need. (On weekends I do 2 miles.) Short enough time to not be able to de-prioritize that walk.
#txeduchat Preparing to send my beloved first-born off to college. Trying to plan to “fill” some of the gaping grief hole I will have with yoga classes or something excercise-related. Better than sobbing and eating ice cream...
#txeduchat A4: Since I began healthier eating and getting back to walking and yoga, I am definitely more energetic. It makes it easier in a pre-k class. Lots of sitting on the floor, jumping up, running here, walking there, bring a tissue here, take a band-aid there, etc. :)

I literally have to make myself not eat at my desk sometimes so I can make sure I have a break. A change of scenery is good for me and re-energizes me. #txeduchat

Having an accountability partner really helped me with this part. Once I was able to establish a solid routine of exercising and meal prepping, I was no longer an obstacle. #txeduchat
A6: Yes! If you aren't happy with you then how can someone else be happy with you? If you don't take care of yourself, how can you expect that you'll be able to take care of someone else? I preach it but I struggle with practicing it! #txeduchat

A6 I disagree. My relationship with God is the most powerful relationship I have. I am human and make so many mistakes, but I am blessed to be able to rely on God for my needs and to guide me daily. #txeduchat

A7 I’m not sure it’s completely practical. I find being with my students the best part of my day. Being tired gives me a time to recharge. Finding a balance may be better than plugged in so to speak. #txeduchat
I am very hard on myself...I tend to be a perfectionist...however...surrounding myself with encouraging and positive people has really helped me with this. #txeduchat
A7 Renergize with those closest to you...At least we should make an effort to give the same energy and passion to our spouses and kiddos...when my kids are begging me to play with them, I shouldn't have to think about that choice...#txeduchat

A8: I think I would say that if they did something that felt selfish, that would be a good indication that they were on the right track. Sounds weird but if you are a giver by nature then doing for yourself feels selfish. In my experience anyway. #txeduchat
A8 Take it one step at a time. So many times folks make a giant list of all the things they must change... Pick one and do it well. Then add something else. It works! #txeduchat
A8: Pick one thing and start there. Make it a habit for 30 days and then add something else. Once it becomes a routine and a natural part of your day...it's easier #txeduchat
