Hello, #TECHtalkGA!
I'm Angela, Dist ITS for MS/HS + French 1 T in Forsyth Co!
I'm pretty sure I'm just in a perpetual state of exhaustedness until comps are over Dec 5!

#TECHtalkGA Roxanne Russell, work with multiple GA districts on Ed Tech reading research project, Director of Digital Learning at Emory’s Candler School.
#TECHtalkGA I ran into a Prof from West GA who had taken the time to give me career advice 10 yrs ago. We had only communicated through email, but I remembered his name & got to thank him in person. He’s doing some neat work on creativity with early age LEGO curriculum.
#TECHtalkGA A2:
I really loved getting to meet/see so many of you face-to-face, but also make new connections like @AskAdam3 & @CristiCSJohnson!
A new tip that I am def using with my EdD research is the idea of a "pool break" in SAMR from @mrhooker
A2: Google Experiments and seeing one of my students today know about this website and incorporating it into his choice board project last week and now I knew what it was! :) #techtalkga
A2: Also saw one of my former band students in my session. Haven't seen her since she graduated in '99. She's a high school media specialist now in Toombs County! #TECHtalkGA
Q2: I loved the Apple sessions. As a new 1:1 iPad school I learned so much that i can bring back to our Ts. And then Leslie Fishers ios12 session was awesome. I now have “no button” envy! #TECHtalkGA
A3-There were a couple!! Minecraftedu, Nearpod, some technology coaching sessions! Im not a coach specifically but want to help others gain alive for tech tools like I have !#TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A3:
I always wish I had a Time Turner during these confs (thanks to @jk_rowling for introducing that VERY NEEDED but very imaginary concept)!
More than anything, I just wish I could have seen MORE sessions. I leave feeling like I didn't see enough.
A3. I had one 12 hr day(!) at #GaETC18. For the first time in YEARS, I didn't get to any of @lesliefisher's session and I MISS them. Bummer.
#TECHtalkGA
A2: Also, forgot to mention putting together a parent education night about digital citzenship and really partnering with them about safe tools. In addition learning about GIFs and ideas from @tonyvincent ! #techtalkga
#TECHtalkGA A2: It was my first GAetc so I was and still am on information overload. One quote that I heard in almost every session was that the TechnoIogy is the vehicle and not the driver in the classroom.
Q3 I wish they had spacesset up in the lobby for impromptu chats. Also the pister sessions were tucked away in a far corner. Maybe consider 30 minute sessions in addition to the hour ones? #TECHtalkGA
#TechTalkGA I am already following up with the teachers who got excited about trying Read Ahead in their classrooms and districts and participating in our research.
A4: the ideas I heard at #GaETC18 re-affirmed that I am doing the right stuff in my classroom and am on the right track to continue learning to help my students
#TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A3: I was planning on going to @hgsisk Google Certification session but it filled up quickly 😁 I also wanted to see what the Apple certification session was all about.
#TECHtalkGA A4:
Just realized I forgot a "you" in there! Oops!! #neverfails
I'm trying to add more bite-size tips to what I do as "hooks" to create engagement from the beginning.
Aww, missed you too! But hopefully for sure next year!
One of my HS Ts said she was in your PD session and it was the best thing she saw all day!
#TECHtalkGA
A3: I listed many of the Tweeps I got to see already. I hope I didn’t miss anyone. As far as sessions, I never feel like I make it to enough!! #TechTalkGA
A4: I can level up my learning by making sure that I provide opportunities where students can share their learning multiples ways by more choice boards. Challenging myself to create a creative tools toolbox. #techtalkga
Kim Hoy, Hart County Charter System A4: I shared information from @apsitjen with other district coaches and started connecting what I have learned with specific teachers based on their interests in previous coaching sessions. #TECHtalkGA
A4: I’d like to help our Ts begin to rethink traditional assignments and assessments, focusing on creation as a learning tool. iPads and iOS apps are incredibly powerful and Ss can learn so much. #TECHtalkGA
AT: #TECHtalkGA I'd love to see more coaching sessions. And I noticed that no one really shared how to start an @EdcampUSA but I think that would be great.
A5: Ways to use technology to improve reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. I saw pieces of it in various sessions, but I would love to see sessions devoted to literacy in content areas. #TECHtalkGA
A5: I hope that close attention is paid to the smaller rooms. If a session fills up quickly, ask the presenter to redeliver again. I know that happened some but I talked to several folks who waited a while for sessions and still didn't get in. #TECHtalkGA
#techtalkga A5
At #gaetc19, we need:
1. a teacher, admin, and tech leader track
2. more on tech and standards
3. research on classroom tech use
4. sessions with less fluff, more real world gold nuggets
5. T&L from the DOE showed up. Would love to have the tech DOE there as well
A5. #GaETC19: I want to join @gabolhuis and have a #coffeeedu session. I want to have more group seating for discussion. I want to show @hgsisk my Google certification :). And, I want leadership sessions that teachers lead.
#TECHtalkGA
A4: As soon as I’m able, I’m going to work on the PD for my staff that they want to attend! Something I got from @maryelenderwest session on PD #TECHtalkGA
Great chat tonight, #TECHtalkGA! Thanks to everyone who participated!
If you want you or your dist tagged for a reminder next week, fill out this form! https://t.co/hoxfaXY6SW
A5. It would be nice to see some sessions developed specifically with the PreK-2 grade kiddos in mind. A lot of sessions are geared towards grades 3 and up. #TECHtalkGA
Obviously, we can do this without them. Just set it for 7:30 am when they set up the coffee on Thursday and we all gather. Never let their proposal opinion win!
#TECHtalkGA
I remember that! It was a blast to share. Easily re-deliverable, definitely!
Brings to mind the argument of whether to recycle presentations or not (updated as necessary, of course), seeing as some topics are relevant year after year. #TECHtalkGA

A5: Happy there were some fresh faces of speakers. Yes, some of the same, but maybe next year we will get some new ones. I was #SuperExcited to see @jmattmiller. @mrhooker and @teach42 were engaging. @thomascmurray was so very inspiring as I help with leadership.
#TECHtalkGA
I would also challenge people with recommendations to submit applications to present your "hope to see" at #GaETC19
There is no better way to learn a topic than to force yourself to present on it.
Seconding @thomascmurray! I would LOVE to see him as the actual keynote or more widely shared as a featured speaker outside the leadership track. EVERYONE needs to hear his message! Technology is more than tools; it's innovation, change management, culture shifting! #TECHtalkGA

Agree 💯with @iamryanwhite here!
Also, don't let fear of being rejected keep you from applying. I've been rejected more times than I've been accepted, but it just pushes me to keep thinking and growing!

#TECHtalkGA A3: I missed sessions by @tonyvincent and @LockhartEdTech. I never miss sessions by those guys, but the schedule just didn't allow for it this time around.
Let's all wish our friend @CHamsClassroom a safe trip to Copenhagen as she embarks on her #GoogleEI trip to #DEN18 this week. Thinking of you. Take it all in! Post lots of pics. #TECHtalkGA
