A1 - ELA activities that focus on authentic purposes and audiences. Students working together rather than alone. Revision and improvement is the focus. Choice. Using technology to broadcast or record or share & connect globally. #5thchat
A2: I love intetgrating my lessons, so my students are currently working on ecosystem proposals that we are going to send to the Governor of Michigan. #5thchat

Q3: Q3: What role does the integration of technology have on the 21st Century ELA classroom? And more specifically, how does technology impact student writing? #5thchat
A2- Annotating is a big part of this quarter. My Ss are building annotation makers. They will then write persuasive essays about why their machine is the best.#5thchat
A3 - Technology has allowed my students to work with their classmates while at home, talk to students around the globe, and get feedback from teacher & students throughout the world. It also allows revisions to be made to their work throughout the whole year! #5thchat
A3- Using Google has helped many of my students with writing and having the ability to send me their rough drafts before printing a final copy #5thchat
Q5: How do you balance traditional modes of reading & writing with technological modes? Do you use tech tools like podcasts, videos, vlogs, blogs, eReaders, etc.? #5thchat
A4: Global Read Aloud!! My class loves it and we get to connect with schools around the world. Making connections through learning with people they would have never had the chance to meet before. #5thchat
Q6: How can we move students from traditional group work to true collaboration? How do you get students collaborating while reading and/or writing? #5thchat
A5:I usually start with old school, writing drafts before the typing and technology. I feel the old school, gives the students more to be proud of because they can see the transformation from writing to typing. Also, use newsela for some reading articles. #5thchat
Q6: My Ss collaborate a lot through GoogleDocs. Last year my Ss wrote commercials and shared the document so that each person could type in lines or directions. #5thchat
A6b: So that collaboration is a give and take with feedback and discussion. Real conversations. Docs & Classroom are great tech tools for this. #5thchat
A6: Literary letters. I have students write to one another and they are truly amazing. They write a summary and critique on the book. They offer their opinion, genre, questions, connections, predictions and why the reader should read the book. #5thchat
A7: Real time feedback. I can assess writing while Ss write. Reading I changed from assessing knowing the story to knowing the skills that built the story. #5thchat
Q7- @Seesaw does have the ability to let you attach standards and grades to work submitted to the teacher. The teacher can also give instant feedback. #5thchat
