Most teachers have at least one person who has affected their teaching to some degree.
I can point back to at least 3 of my high school English teachers who had the most influence on me becoming an English teacher.
A1: My role model was my first principal when I was a second grade teacher. She expected nothing but the best.
My professor in Fiction made us read one novel per week. She also made us read one Shakespeare play per week. Encouraging reading.
I also credit my upbringing for my professional practices; worked in family-owned store & learned lots about ppl.
These 3: 5th gr. Ms. Crawford. 7th ELA Mrs. Bussey. 12th Teacher Cadets Mrs. Goodman. Want to be like them https://t.co/5qgephp44C

Moving from "Old School' to a more progressive perspective was more of an evolution than a quick change.
I feel like the sum of many experiences that have had an effect on my practices. Tough to narrow or prioritize impact.
Yes education/learning is a JOURNEY and NOT a Destination.
Similar to changing how we integrate tech in classroom...an evolution
