#EduGladiators
A1 It means that we keep up with new ideas, trends, tools, methods everything we need to provide the best possible learning for our Ss and support for our colleagues and #PLN, #EduGladiators
A1) Being a lifelong learner means living with enough humility to know that you don't know it all, and will never know it all.
I don't see any drawbacks to living this way.
#edugladiators
A1: Always living in beta, both personally and professionally. Life and teaching never bore me b/c I'm constantly trying new approaches. Drawback is reminding myself there is no "right" way, just different ways. #EduGladiators
A1: being a life long learner to me is all about being open to feedback and reflective of our practice. Adjusting to what isn’t work or at the very least always looking to improve. Benefits more awesome teaching, drawbacks...time? #EduGladiators
A1: being a lifelong learner means you recognize you’ll never “arrive” with a paradigm. You are just reflecting on what is most salient today. Life is a Journey. #EduGladiators
A1 It means that you were always seeking answers to new questions that cannot be answered with a simple Google search. You’re OK with taking the time to persist though it may be challenging. The only drawback is that there are so many new questions/challenges. #EduGladiators
A1: Being a lifelong learner is having the willingness to be taught new things either in education or in the real world. Benefits of a lifelong learner is that you are always learner and willing to learn drawbacks you do not know how to apply what you learned. #EduGladiators
A1. Life long learning means regardless of your chosen career field you’re working to be better every day. Always researching & connecting w those in your field #edugladiators
A1. Lifelong learning keeps you from living a stagnant life. Learning leads to growth intellectually, personally and professionally. When you stop learning and growing, you can lose your purpose. Don’t see any drawbacks. #EduGladiators

Always trying to expand your knowledge base #growthmindset. Adv-trying new things, feeling accomplished. Dis-never enough time to do it all. #EduGladiators
Drawbacks? Don't see any.
I'm teaching my business students that they MUST be lifelong learners if they want to keep up with the business world.
#EduGladiators
A1: Always seeking to better yourself, even if only incrementally. Benefits are you become a more well rounded, humble, and better read person. The drawbacks are sifting through all the information out there, and finding out you are wrong and have to change. #edugladiators
I could not agree more Angelo! I think the moment we stop learning, we stop growing! Plus we want to model for our students that school is always in session! We should always want to learn about things! #EduGladiators
A1: ok. My thoughts on life long learning and it being a drawback. It limits you from accepting you are an expert on something. Being a life long learner can lead to Imposter Syndrome #EduGladiators
A1: Being a lifelong learners means we’re always hungry to learn more, improve, question/adjust our thinking, and grow. We are open to new ideas and POVs. We understands have knowledge and experience, but know we can always build on it. #EduGladiators
A1) Lifelong learner is always trying to get new tools to enhance your craft. Education is always changing and it helps you to employ cutting edge instruction.#EduGladiators
A1: Be insatiably CURIOUS through one’s life! It’s the most awesome thing because curiosity makes us listen, inspires thought, creates the NEXT IDEA for a lifetime! It’s a challenge because one can never have enough & it can feel like accomplishment is far away #EduGladiators
A1: Being a Lifeling Learner is understandings that we always have room to grow. I have changed SO MUCH since my 1st days in the classroom and I look forward to Learning EVERYDAY. #EduGladiators
A1: Being a lifelong learner to me means I am always seeking out things to learn that help me grow and do better. Drawbacks are the lack of time to keep up with all I want to learn! #EduGladiators
A1. One of my favorite quotes recalls that “eternal vigilance is the price of freedom.”
Or to borrow a line from Spider-Man: “With great power comes great responsibility.”
In other words: once you #GetWoke, it is your moral obligation to #StayWoke.
#NoDaysOff#EduGladiators
A1: Always living in beta, both personally and professionally. Life and teaching never bore me b/c I'm constantly trying new approaches. Drawback is reminding myself there is no "right" way, just different ways. #EduGladiators

A1-A lifelong learner is one who leverages experience to result in growth. Benefits are limitless depending on status of one’s heart and mind. A drawback could be digging too deep for a lesson in every experience. Sometimes, the lesson isn’t revealed immediately. #EduGladiators

I would agree with time being a drawback. We don't just fallback on last year's lesson plans--we always tweak and adjust and sometimes re-create. And that takes time. But it's "fun" work #EduGladiators
A1 Curiosity, reflection, discovery. Looking at old things in new ways. Always Wondering. No drawbacks, There will be critics but that is a learning experience as well. #edugladiators
A1: being a life long learner to me is all about being open to feedback and reflective of our practice. Adjusting to what isn’t work or at the very least always looking to improve. Benefits more awesome teaching, drawbacks...time? #EduGladiators
I couldn't agree more. In a world that is changing this quickly we need to be lifelong learners to keep up. Plus learning keeps us young! #EduGladiators
A1) Being a lifelong learner to me means I actively seek to gain skills, further learning & utilize all formats to stay engaged in learning. Advantages are numerous - brain health for one. Disadvantages - balance, for me becomes an issue. #EduGladiators
A1: open minded, embrace change, challenge yourself, intrinsic motivation to constantly grow...are all characteristics for me as a life long learner, only challenge is finding time to constantly learn & explore to experience growth #edugladiators
A1: Lifelong learning means continuous & ongoing meanspersonal or professional learning. The benefits are improvement. The drawbacks are a lack of application of what is learned or lack of practical knowledge gleaned from offerings out there. #EduGladiators
Yeah I wasn't clear. It's a positive, but it's not easy. Especially when you've devoted a lot of time, training, reading, and the like into a particular way of teaching or being! #edugladiators
A1: #Lifeonglearner-s model learning for others and they assume all the risks and rewards as a result. Modeling is a big deal when talking the talk. To build genuine credibility, we need to be doing and sharing what we're saying. #EduGladiators
I couldn't agree more. In a world that is changing this quickly we need to be lifelong learners to keep up. Plus learning keeps us young! #EduGladiators
A1.2: The benefits of being a Lifeling Learner is that I have an AMAZING book collection. The only drawback is I need more bookshelves!! #EduGladiators
A1 we continue to stretch and evolve our philosophy and ideas, we take risks and use those experiences to create new questions for advanced discovery and innovation. There are no drawbacks to being a lifelong learner. It keeps us strong #EduGladiators
could constantly being the trailblazer cutting down the forest in the front get tiresome? I feel like this is what a lifelong learner is constantly doing because they are so far ahead of others #EduGladiators
A2 I think we are all lifelong learners, but may not refer to it as that, we just keep learning every day, read, try new things, all part of learning #EduGladiators
A2: you have to nourish it or you lose it! It's also mindset dependent - and mindsets can (unfortunately sometimes) change. I nourish it in our staff by giving voice and choice to book study and writing notes to them in the books. #EduGladiators
A1: Being a lifelong learner means that there isn’t a time in your life where you’ve decided you know all you can know. Drawback would be that it can feel exhausting at times, but the benefits are so worth it. #EduGladiators
True, we want to do "all the things" right #4OCFPLN I am reading Balance Like a Pirate now @JessicaCabeen Jessica Johnson and Sarah Johnson, great book #tlap#edugladiators

A2: fresh out of University I thought I knew it all. I needed the humbling of a classroom to see I needed to keep learning. We can only lead by example as life long learners. Those who do not seek it resent it. You can lead a horse to water... #EduGladiators
A1: Unfortunately, #lifelonglearning is often misrepresented when self-deprication is glorified. Throwing ourselves under the bus and bragging on failure doesn't always translate into celebrations of genuine learning. It's a journey, but it's not all canyons. #EduGladiators
A1: benefits are endless! Learning never gets old! The idea isn't just to read or attend conferences either - it's the practice of daily challenging yourself and others to be better each day #EduGladiators
A2: I believe everyone has the capability to become a lifelong learner but if they are not willingly trying to learn new things they will not be a lifelong learner. It is in our human nature to learn from experience and others so naturally we are lifelong learners #EduGladiators
A2. Many educators embrace life long learning as a natural part of their daily being. Interesting to reflect on how some think their learning stops once they graduate from college. #EduGladiators
A2) Watch an infant and you'll know that we are designed to be learners. Society, however, wants us to "know" more than it wants us to "learn," so that innate drive for continuous improvement is often dimmed within the human spirit. We must learn to learn again.
#edugladiators
A1. It's knowing that the possibilities are endless in knowledge, and it's okay to not know everything yet. It's a powerful thing once you grasp the idea of being a life long learner, but it's difficult to keep that mindset. #EduGladiators
A2. I’m a perfect example of someone who can grow into it. “Lifelong learning” was not something I knew prior to finding my PLN #4OCFplan#edugladiators
A2 I enjoy sharing what I am learning, not everyone has time to take a course, or attend conferences, or read, etc regularly, sometimes just sharing a quick tip #EduGladiators
A1: ok. My thoughts on life long learning and it being a drawback. It limits you from accepting you are an expert on something. Being a life long learner can lead to Imposter Syndrome #EduGladiators
A2 I think that it’s both. Some are just naturally curious while others have to discover the benefit of being a lifelong learner before they become one. It’s our job as educators to show them the benefits. #EduGladiators
A2 I think some people would rather not keep learning. They're comfortable with what they do & resist change. I try to share ideas with them, but rather than being interested, they often just seem annoyed. #EduGladiators
a2 Everyone is born a lifelong learner, whether they/we know it or not. If nothing else, it's happening at the subconscious level, where experiences continually shape us (for good or bad). #EduGladiators
A2: I believe in the power of responding with“I wonder” statements. It encourages active participation and elicits experiences from others when trying to engage someone who seems as if they are not actively learning. #EduGladiators
A1. It is someone who constantly wants to grow & keep pace with the changing times. It allows them to constantly be able to meet the needs of a changing student population. It may cause conflict with ppl with a fixed mindset. #eduGladiators
A2. I think it’s more of an attitude/outlook. We’re all lifelong learners because every event is an opportunity to learn. Sometimes it’s tough to keep that in mind, but it’s true. #EduGladiators
Agreed. And I’m chewing on how the Ego plays into this. Whether we believe we’ve “arrived” or whether we believe we are on a lifelong journey. And what circumstances set that ego up. Thank you for sharing. #edugladiators
A2: you can approach an individual who is not willing to learn and ask them “why” tell them the benefits and help that individual express their mind through learning. #EduGladiators
A2: I think it’s a mindset you develop. We tackle that mindset at the elementary level so that students know and see that learning doesn’t stop when school so out. #EduGladiators
A2: I think so me people think being a lifelong learner means you can’t be considered great or an expert. They think ppl should only learn from them and not vice versa. It takes a lot of time and mindset work to shift that perspective. #edugladiators
A2: We all learn, all day every day. Lifelong learners pursue their own learning rather than just stumbling upon it. The difference with lifelong learners is that we align our learning with our goals and go after it! #EduGladiators#Path2Serendipity
a2: lifelong learning is what we all do. But what we are learning changes over time. We are always growing in some way if not, we are slowly dying personally/professionally. #edugladiators
A2: I don't think life long learning is natural for everyone. What we can do is remain positive, energized, and share our enthusiasm for what we've learned with those in our lives and be as models for those around us. Always be reading. #edugladiators
A2: Everyone is capable--I think it has more to do with passion, or re-igniting the passion.
Basic conversations about teaching, or inviting them to a conference can be good approaches. Keep planting seeds--sometimes it takes a few tries #EduGladiators
A2: I think some people think being a lifelong learner means you can’t be considered great or an expert. They think ppl should only learn from them and not vice versa. It takes a lot of time and mindset work to shift that perspective. #edugladiators
A2: Everybody LEARNS wether they are open to it or not. Life lessons happen. Some appreciate it, some look for it, and some try to avoid it. #EduGladiators
Good point, here. Although failure is an important process function of learning, it's not failure we should herald. It's perseverance through failure that needs to be championed.
A2: I may be a natural LLL bc I constantly want challenge but I don’t ponder it before hand, it’s a natural progression but I know some who have to make an effort to work at growth...sharing a passion & offering support have been my approach to encouraging others #edugladiators
Another part of what I was writing about, thinking about making mistakes and how sometimes we feel like we can't bc there is an expectation of us not making mistakes #edugladiators
Definitely is a feeling of “I have arrived to my best” but we never know if have reached our best in education because it can always be that one student who makes us change up our teaching strategy. #EduGladiators
A2 I think everyone has to model a passion for learning sometimes I'm frustrated that I'm not wringing out enough time for my own learning.
#EduGladiators
A2) Great question. This is definitely something you can grow into, however, it depends on how we define life-long learning. Are we talking learning aligned with our passions or are we aligned with using our influence to change the lives of others 🤔🤔🤔 #EduGladiators
A2: I think it’s a bit of both but more learned than natural. I have no doubt that there’s a crazy chromosome in my brain for this, but the life around me made it come out. Model it, find it, however small, in all. Always be nudging fwd w/ S&T to grab it #EduGladiators
A2: Everyone is NOT a lifelong learner, but part of that may be due to the "I don't know how?" or "Where do I start?" syndromes. The info is now out there so that we can learn w/o spending $$$. The internet has connected us to info like nothing could before now. #EduGladiators
A2) You don't teach people to have a mindset of lifelong learning by telling them to have one. Rather, your example, like so many other things in life, is what makes lifelong learning something others see as a worthy pursuit.
#edugladiators
This is a hard one. I think most people are naturally curious. Maybe when learning is easily accessible and celebrated it helps fuel the love. As for me, I get downright giddy about learning new things. #EduGladiators
A1 Being a lifelong Learner means to be continually learning and working hard. Drawbacks are you are always working on something. Benefits you stay current and have new skills to share 😀 #EduGladiators
Love it! I think the narrative of failure and learning needs to transition to this! Perseverance through the failure should be the focus! #EduGladiators
Something I’m reflecting on: as a lifelong learner, I’ll never “arrive.” The question becomes, when do I let go and accept this and decide to turn my attention and energy to something else? I have a deficit mindset when it comes to learning. Is that healthy? #edugladiators
Q2: I think some people are born life long learners. I know I am, lol. But, at the same time, I think there are people who need to grow into it.
I like to share what I learn or opportunities for PD for others in a non- imposing way. #EduGladiators
A2: When I look at my family, immediate & in-laws, everyone is constantly learning from age 5-78. My nieces are naturally inquisitive, but some content is an acquired taste. Us adults know that some learning is necessary. #EduGladiators
A2: People are not natural lifelong learners. There needs to be a push or drive from somewhere. The intrinsic desire to learn must be intentionally cultivated by many people (parents, teachers, friends) over time. But when done well, it's powerful
#EduGladiators
A2b: Babies and young children seem to want to learn naturally. It’s the continuity to stay explosively curious as we age that seems to be more learned behavior. #EduGladiators
A3 That I did not have to stand in front of the room and teach the whole time, new tools to use and how to use stations and other group collab to let Ss lead .#EduGladiators
This is so true! The traditional form of education focuses on grades rather than learning. It can take perseverance to undo this damage. #EduGladiators
A2) Watch an infant and you'll know that we are designed to be learners. Society, however, wants us to "know" more than it wants us to "learn," so that innate drive for continuous improvement is often dimmed within the human spirit. We must learn to learn again.
#edugladiators
I first looked up Impostor Syndrome a few months ago...it opened my eyes and in a strange way gave me confidence. Recognizing it helps me fight it better #EduGladiators
That is definitely a driver. I’m also reflecting on whether my lifelong learning is held up against yesterday vs tomorrow. What I’ve learned vs what I may not know. #edugladiators
A2b. Surprised to see so many comments biased towards the conscious/analytical/active learning as opposed to subconscious/primal/passive "learning." 🤔 #EduGladiators
A2: I think a lot of us, like me, get hung up on enjoying success and feeling we made it there, forgetting that the joy is in the journey and not in the destination. We need to constantly improve. There’s no such thing as a destination. #edugladiators
In reply to

A2 I think it is a choice to some extent. Fostering curiosity and not compliance in the early years helps. We have to be careful labeling others as not lifelong learners. Perhaps they are just on a different path. #edugladiators
A2. Some ppl have a fixed mindset & feel that they are the experts on everything. No one can teach them anything. Many are in positions of authority. You have to convert them by concrete examples of success due to continued/lifelong learning. #EduGladiators
A3: It's not about me doing all the cognitive work - it's about the students doing it. This has made me talk less, give more wait time, and shift to a more student centered approach. #edugladiators
A2: I think a lot of us, like me, get hung up on enjoying success and feeling we made it there, forgetting that the joy is in the journey and not in the destination. We need to constantly improve. There’s no such thing as a destination. #edugladiators
A2: I believe in the power of responding with“I wonder” statements. It encourages active participation and elicits experiences from others when trying to engage someone who seems as if they are not actively learning. #EduGladiators
A2: I think that everyone’s naturally curious and that curiosity leads to life long learning. I think this looks different for different people but we all have a desire to be lifelong learners. #EduGladiators
A3: That we have the power to create the culture we desire through proper planning, solid foundational practice, consistent effort, faith, hope and belief. #EduGladiators
A2. I think we are are naturally curious and want to learn, but often times kids lose their love of learning in school for various reasons. This is were teachers step in and help students realize the endless possibilities of learning. #EduGladiators
A2. From the time my three sons were infants I kept repeating to them, "Once you graduate from college you can ......." <-- fill in the blank. Set expectations and never waivered. #EduGladiators
A3 What I've learned over the past years (& am still in the process of learning - it's a long continuum) is that giving up control & trusting my Ts is the most important thing I can do to build a strong team #EduGladiators
Amen to self care! A huge focus of mine this year. Accepting that not everything will get done and instead prioritizing what needs to be done first. #EduGladiators
A3: Brain science with EDU has been a game changer for me. Teaching Ss how to take #sketchnotes , create #tlap experiences , using #EduProtocols , and then showing Ss how failure is just a part of the process, not an end product, has really transformed my teaching. #EduGladiators
A1: If this is really true, @mjjohnson1216, then those of us in opportunistic positions to react have a TON of power! We are not victims of our circumstances. We can rise above and choose how we respond. That's refreshing and empowering. TY for sharing. #EduGladiators
A3) I've learned that success truly doesn't look the same for everyone and that it is our job, as educators, to help students find success by allowing them to focus on their strengths rather than judging them on their ability to pass tests.
#edugladiators
A3 - As a teacher, I don't have to blindly accept information provided doing PD...teachers should be critical consumers. #EduGladiatorshttps://t.co/zUxHBwearF

A3: Game changer was learning that I didn’t have to fit in a certain mold. That helped me gain the confidence I needed to go into my classroom and teach and develop relationships with my kids the way that I wanted to. #TLAP reaffirmed a lot of this for me! #edugladiators
A2 I think to be alive means you are continually learning however some pursue learning with a passion. Approaching those that aren’t lifelong learners is sharing your enthusiasm for your new learning 😀 It’s contagious #edugladiators
A3: Due to myself being a student-teacher I have learned many things. Recently, technology in the classrooom. Prof @mltolin introduced the SAMR model&the steps on implementing technology even into a PE setting, Mrs. Tobin has opened my eyes about technology. #EduGladiators
Always questioning, wondering, and looking for answers. Consuming information constantly and applying the new information to life situations. Is there a better/different way to get the same or better results? #EduGladiators

A3: Something I have learned that was truly game changing was EFFECTIVE differentiated instruction. It impacted my practice as an ICS teacher because I was able to meet students needs and help them become more confident in their abiliites. #EduGladiators
A1: ok. My thoughts on life long learning and it being a drawback. It limits you from accepting you are an expert on something. Being a life long learner can lead to Imposter Syndrome #EduGladiators
A3: I learned that when people ask for help, they often don’t want an answer but support/a thought partner. This has helped me to reflect on how I help/interact with people, and given me the confidence to rely on my experience and step up into leadership roles. #EduGladiators
A3: I’ve learned through my in-person and online PLNs that there are many educators in my same situation, with the same fears and needs. Learning from them has been life changing!! #EduGladiators
A3: Is it cost effective? Time, research, team building, visionary, investment, commitment & yes $. As a Supt & bldg leader asking this game changing Q impacts PD & Instructional leading always! Time is always my #1 priority for Ts breaking ranks for great! #EduGladiators
A3: technology integration...I had a passion for it & open to trying anything but quickly learned not everyone is open to changing pedagogy & game changer was shifting my mindset to support others in their comfort zone even if it was behind or out of my zone #edugladiators
A3: Through gameful learning, I gave students power to self-pace and have more choice. That led to flex seating, standards-based grading, more personalized learning. #dominoeffect#EduGladiators
A3 I think I learned that playing a long rather than short game matters as a school leader. People need time to learn who you are, what you can do, and how you can help? #EduGladiators
A3: implementing technology in my classroom is going to help my role in the classroom because it something different that many children have not seen done before. So it is enhancing my self-portfolio and changing my game of education up! #EduGladiators
The experiences & exposures that shape you & your mental models. Big in the news lately is Implicit Bias & how they may have come about. I'll argue they are passively learned. #EduGladiators
A3. I’m reading Essentialism and it is pushing me to consider what is most essential, then cut out the other stuff and focus on what is most important. Excited about this learning experience. #edugladiators
A2: I think this is more about getting to know fellow learners, and selecting strategies to align natural curiosity and interests to learning opportunities. Some may call it "Unleashing Talent." @karaknollmeyer#EduGladiators
The experiences & exposures that shape you & your mental models. Big in the news lately is Implicit Bias & how they may have come about. I'll argue they are passively learned. #EduGladiators

A3: Learning Glasser’s Choice Theory & Reality Therapy saved both my early teaching career and my marriage years ago. Knowing that all behavior is purposeful and that others’ behavior typically has nothing to do with me is life-changing. #EduGladiators#Path2Serendipity
A2) Both. During our early years, we are learning every moment. It gets stunted in school unfortunately when it becomes about testing knowledge rather than acquiring. We need to keep learning appealing & interesting #edugladiators

A4 working on writing books now, hoping to share what I have done and the stories of other educators, and to keep learning together, always learning from #4OCPLN#my53s#edumatch and #EduGladiators :)
Many people in my opinion are stuck in their ways because they feel a sense of relief after a couple years of teaching and feel the strategy/methods they are doing now are the only way and the old saying “if it isn’t broke why fix it” comes to play #EduGladiators
A4. I adore the #bookCampPD#PLN as we learn together about the books we are reading. During Sunday PM chat at 7:30 we are "bouncing back" to review the 33 books we have reviewed thus far https://t.co/Dr2swQh1C2#EduGladiators

A4 I'm lucky to work with an incredible group of Ts who love learning & constantly experiment in their classrooms. I share what we're working on in my blog:
https://t.co/v8o2i7gJYv#edugladiators
A3. I learned that every student is not going to college/wants to. Early in my career I was putting my aspirations on Ss. I learned to ask them to see what they want to do & not to judge their choices. (Ss should be college ready though) #EduGladiators
A2: Hello, @mjjohnson1216. That's interesting. I'm thinking on this one, and I'd argue that those with whom we surround ourselves have the most effect and impact on our individual learning journeys. Would you agree? #EduGladiators
A3: The Capturing Kids’ Hearts process, Crucial Conversations, Crucial Accountability are all professional learning I’ve participated in & they’ve affected my interactions w/students and peers to improve student achievement. #EduGladiators
A3 Breathe, Think, Breathe, Respond with questions not answers. Slowing down and allowing the process to be organic not carefully manicured every second. There is a difference between planning and designing. #edugladiators
A3: Reading Teach Like A Pirate @burgessdave was a game changer for me. I read it last year as a 19 year veteran teacher. It reignited my teaching and really made me reflect on my own practice. I was reminded of my WHY so many times throughout the book. #tlap#EduGladiators
A4: Modeling daily & EVERYWHERE! Goal for 2018 is still to start a blog- it’s coming soon! Always asking good Qs & really dreaming small - it allows the bigger ones to flourish & inspire #EduGladiators
A3: Share to gain feedback and support. Share with those who have earned it. Some people will be negative about everything and will tear people down. Don't get pulled into anyone's negativity. Share to grow and to help others to grow.

Epic chat today #EduGladiators & special thanks to @mlarson_nj for leading us in the arena! Be sure to follow those in today's chat that you "liked" or "retweeted"! Build you PLN with incredible #eduwarriors from this morning!
A4: We have staff book studies, I have a stretch partner who is awesome @BlairHicks6 who I can share my learning with, and Twitter! Love tweeting things I see and learn on a daily basis to help connect with others #edugladiators
A3. I am in an Ed Media Tech course, and I have learned more about the world or Google. I have spent hours outside of the classroom playing with different chrome extension and it has changed my outlook on technology. So many tools for HLT and differentiation #EduGladiators
A3) So many in the last decade! Each lead to becoming colleagues w/ young adults. This week young adults lead our learning several times. We learn from & with each other. Changes the dynamic in such a positive way. #EduGladiators
Absolutely!! I think the key words there are “applying the new information”. It’s not about possessing a lot of information anymore; it’s more about what we do with the information we have. #EduGladiators

I would certainly agree with your statement. Having a critical friend included in "those we surround ourselves with" can be a huge game changer. #EduGladiators
A2: Hello, @mjjohnson1216. That's interesting. I'm thinking on this one, and I'd argue that those with whom we surround ourselves have the most effect and impact on our individual learning journeys. Would you agree? #EduGladiators
A4: now in a CTE role & instructional technology is still part of me, I share techniques & put my spin on tasks & I share my passion while still offering to support others as they grow, especially when I see a stagnant practice or randomly think of a way to engage #edugladiators
A4) Through Twitter, GDrive, at meetings, invitations to join & revamping the blog. That is on my bucket list - becoming a better blogger. #EduGLadiators
Yep yep yep. I've also followed a lot of Penny Kittle's writing ideas, too. Every year I get more and more amazed at what the students can do! #EduGladiators

a4: started a cookingblog with my daughters a year ago and now seem to want to share my edu experiences and grow how I can. Twitter has helped. Plan on writing some articles when possible. Ready to share #EduGladiators
A3: I learned that when people ask for help, they often don’t want an answer but support/a thought partner. This has helped me to reflect on how I help/interact with people, and given me the confidence to rely on my experience and step up into leadership roles. #EduGladiators
A4.2: nothing seems to be more powerful than to share what I’m learning with those in my sphere. I shared an #EduGladiators tweet with my staff just a few moments ago!
#EduGladiators A3 different professionals have different outcomes for a learner but the end goal is the same. Seeing the different priorities that speech therapy, OT and PT have was a great learning experience. #CEduAD
"Life is full of ups and downs. How you recover from failure and move forward is important to how you learn and how you live." @gcouros#InnovatorsMindset
I'd possibly add risk taking (within participating)
It's easy to participate in what's comfortable. It's life changing to go out of your comfort zone (whether that be the idea of time holding a person back or speaking your own truths, whatever...). #EduGladiators

I have not shared what I learn on social media but I do communicate w/other education majors, sharing ideas learning from them (lifelong learner in progress) I am going to begin twitting our what I have learned. #EduGladiators
Now Now. We are one to one with chrome books but I need my lab for my #Gamers to use @Unity3d to develop video games. Sometime you do need the actual software.
Just sayin'...

#EduGladiators A4. I keep a blog. No shortage of skeptics, critics, supporters, shapers who help me refine my thinking & keep me learning: https://t.co/o5Q1utZvwk
This 3-dimensional framework helps me visualize issues that come up w/:
- supervision,
- learning & training,
- decision-making,
- policy development,
- & more.
I end this thread w/ a short post on #TheIllinoisModel: https://t.co/OwjOxp8vIq
A4 I’ve lent some of my books out to my friends Innovators Mindset and Lead Like a Pirate. Don’t know if they finished reading them yet 😀#EduGladiators
A4: I have the opportunity to share learning with my students. They grow from my learning. I want to share my learning with peers. Twitter chats are a great forum for me to share. #leadupchat#edchatPH#wcpsschat#FlipBookStudy#EduGladiators
A4. Through PLCs both actual and virtual. I also conduct presentations at conferences & write articles. Most learn and I do as well through feedback. I also participate in chats such as this one. #BMEsTalk is another excellent chat. #EduGladiators
people often say our system is broken but the opposite is true. it works PERFECTLY for what it was designed to do...produce non-thinking sameness #edugladiators
Thank you @mlarson_nj & @EduGLadiators for a chat that had so much information & insight I was behind from hello!! This is a topic near & dear so I will be reading everything I have missed over the weekend!! TY!! #EduGladiators
A4 #EduGladiators Connecting is my new learning. Working with #ecglobal, I was awakened to the full potential of a message and passing it on. Working now on #CEduAD and see such a wealth of skills and experience. Can't wait to see what happens 20 October. https://t.co/9Ouvo3wM8d
A4. The main ways I am sharing my learning with others is in class or on twitter. I do believe my senior class as a whole are learning from each other and we are growing together! #EduGladiators#teacherbytrine
Your comment is truer than I would like it to be.
I think Twitter chats like #edugladiators can help turn the tide against "homebrew" education and help love it towards research informed education by exposing info and engaging with other teachers
A4: Joining late! Yikes. My blog is https://t.co/EgfRozo4ZK. I also publish a smore every Tuesday with tips and tricks. I follow so many folks who give me great ideas & resources. #EduGladiators
A4: Huge emphasis on sharing. If we're not sharing with the world our why, what, and how we're learning in this journey together, then we can't expect to shift any negative narratives in education. What if every educator shared one thing every day? #EduGladiators#RebrandNCed
Books certainly are critical component to ignite/grow our learning. We can’t diminish the impact reading has on building our capacity. We have to be mindful to always pair action with our resolve or reading/listening to friends won’t effect change. #EduGladiators
A3: I don't know of any one thing that has been a game-changer. It's more like a culmination of things I'm learning, reading, seeing in classrooms bc, as a coach, what I can do differs depending on those students in that classroom. #EduGladiators
"Pairing action with our resolve" is one of the reasons why we added 'Bounce Back' to our chat rotation. Reflecting back on the 33 books we have reviewed and discussing what was implemented from our reading or what still needs tweaking will hopefully help w/ this. #EduGladiators
I think it's the biggest game changer for me. Learning is social, and those in whom we personally invest and those with whom we surround ourselves F2F and online directly correlate to our growing perspectives in #lifelonglearning. #EduGladiators
I think Twitter chats can just fly by or wash over us. Actually thinking about writing a goal we hope to accomplished at the end of the chat kicks in a part of our brains to act. #EduGladiators
A2: I think everyone has the potential to be a lifelong learner, esp when we see learning more broadly. My mom learned to scuba dive when she was 65. That became a passion. When Ts model being learners, Ss see learning differently. #EduGladiators
Agreed! Even just asking ourselves what is something we’ve learned in Twitter chats this past week that we plan to implement next week can be a difference maker! #EduGladiators
Listen to all these adults coaching these kids. What might learning look like in our classrooms if we coached our learners with the same passion? The same immediate and specific feedback? The same enthusiasm?#EduGladiators#Path2Serendipity#TLAP
