We are at the brink of a global crisis in mental health, climate change, environment. Sustainability & conscious capitalism are issues to be addressed for our own survival. Measures of success and wealth need to be defined. #rethink_learning #sdg
  • Shapiro_WTHS Feb 18 @ 7:14 PM EST
A1b - Part of the issue is getting others to have a global vision outside of just typical core content. Many educators find that time is lacking to explore areas outside of what they specifically teach. I think it needs to be woven in gradually, not forced. #rethink_learning
  • Music4All_WISS Feb 18 @ 7:15 PM EST
A1: My students have been interested in issues around the world. They ask "Why does that country feel that way?" and from there they take off into their own personal inquiries. It is important to be aware of the world around you & be globally minded. #rethink_learning #TeachSDGs

  • Shapiro_WTHS Feb 18 @ 7:20 PM EST
A2 - For me it’s about helping teens to see the bigger picture. I’ve mentioned before that we are talking about a shift in not only what’s taught, but how it relates to the greater good of society. I try to introduce new ideas and topics slowly. #rethink_learning
