In the classroom, the teacher has the ability to create assignments that don't always fit a uniform.

Choice is a key factor in creativity! Nothing zaps creative energy more than too many mandates and requirements.

Amazing admin like tell staff that it is okay to try new things, take risks, that failure is part of the process.
I tell my 1st graders all the time listening is the best gift they can give to someone else.
We got rid of a basal reading program this year. Ts have freedom to use any books for lessons & guided reading.Creativity unleashed!
I try to get Ss to realize that I am not an the one with all the answers; by encouraging Ss to think, apply & solve for themselves.
I encourage Ts to try something by offering support. Today I have 25 pies for prizes for Pi Day. I gave Ts Pi Day tshirt rubric.
Who here has done Week of inspirational math via ? My idea is to turn it into a student driven project using chromebooks
Ts need to feel safe to try new things. Standards are still being met through creative ways.

bring ppl who donβt usually collaborate, & have a different set of strengths and weaknesses and who come from different backgrounds.
I just pick a day w/no other meetings and bring in cookies & beverage. I create an invite on & send it out.
Options, observe and GO! Classroom environment goes a long way for a creative space.
We are allowed to fail as Ts. Let's creativity happen when it's ok if something does not work.

Good morning! Edcamp PD is an awesome way to share what we're doing in our classrooms, esp. since we have a big faculty (200+).
Our school is in the process of implementing instructional coaching. Will be up & running for next year!
I have it after school. That way Ts from diff. grade levels can share w/each other.
Idea is to have students extend their inquiry into patterning, paperfolding, Pascal's triangle, Pi,Fibonacci etc into a tech project
