  • Megan_Cannon Jan 18 @ 9:11 PM EST
A1: the ones I'm using the most at the moment are 6, 8, and 48. The Ts in OK are LOVING them!!! These focus on modeling & productive S talk in the classroom. #ThatTableTentTho #NGSSchat
  • philiplbell Jan 18 @ 9:11 PM EST

  • SciEdHenry Jan 18 @ 9:12 PM EST
A1: I really like STT 48 a lot because it has actionable items and suggestions Ts can use to promote productive talk in their classroom #NGSSchat
  • philiplbell Jan 18 @ 9:13 PM EST
LOL. If you had to chose one to send "off the island" which would it be. Easier? #NGSSchat

  • Ms_RRWhite Jan 18 @ 9:13 PM EST
A1: So far in the classes I've observed, sequencing practices has been an amazing @STEMTeachTools that not only engage students but really create a layering of understanding in the topics that are discussed in the classroom #NGSSchat
  • auntjennoelle Jan 18 @ 9:13 PM EST
If I have to pick just one, this one is the one I’ve used the most: https://t.co/KU9uwh8Dot “Qualities of Good Anchor Phenomenon...” I’ve been helping Ts write lessons and this tool has been great to get them started. #ngsschat
  • MnMColson Jan 18 @ 9:13 PM EST
A1 I like Brief 6 on getting Ss to engage in productive talk WITH EACH OTHER, not just with me! #NGSSchat
  • starrscience Jan 18 @ 9:13 PM EST
I LOVE the imagery of the Cascade of Practices. I have used this idea in PD very often. #NGSSchat

A1 Tool #41 is my go to for helping Ts with using CCCs!!! I ❤️ ❤️ the sentence prompts! #NGSSchat
  • JMNorrisISP Jan 18 @ 9:13 PM EST
A1: I use this one often because it helps me think outside the box and not do the same format over and over again with the SEPs- https://t.co/GkAjoP4s83 #ngsschat
  • kmgill135 Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
A1: I found the one on talk (#35) very helpful when I was having difficulties getting my kids to have rich conversations. #ngsschat
  • SciEdHenry Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
This is especially important when thinking about how to create equitable opportunities for *all* Ss yo participate, especially emerging bilinguals who may need that extra support #NGSSchat
  • tiffanyneill Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
A1) https://t.co/z92UInjIlF is a great way to hook Ts as PD provider. I find that the resource meets immediate needs & feels comfortable to try out. After that, they seek out more on their own! #ngsschat
  • Chemteach201 Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
Agree-many are utilizing that document in curriculum settings!! #NGSSchat
    In reply to @auntjennoelle
  • tjscience Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
A1: Hands down the task formats from @philiplbell @bpenuel & @dizzvh https://t.co/36Jk4Aj1p3 - this has been GOLD in my work with teachers #NGSSchat
  • TdiShelton - Moderator Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
A1 It will be no surprise to @Ted_NSTA that i love Tool 41-- the CCC prompts. We use them a lot to support 3D formative assessment scenarios #NGSSchat
  • flabellinaJG Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
A1: We @K12Alliance have really found #6 (on productive talk) to be very helpful when supporting teachers transitioning to the #NGSS #NGSSChat https://t.co/L93ZrLfKmH

  • starrscience Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
CCC is harder than I thought it would be but the teachers are willing to tackle them! #NGSSchat

Here are links to all the @STEMTeachTools about the practices (https://t.co/9P0iFifqwl) & we have one on sequencing (cascading) as well (https://t.co/C0CWYgMhcz) How do you approach layering them? #NGSSchat
    In reply to @Ms_RRWhite, @STEMTeachTools, @STEMTeachTools
  • Megan_Cannon Jan 18 @ 9:14 PM EST
Just 1? Okay, def. #48 When I present this to Ts, they are blown away by the ease of use of the table tents & they immediately feel ready to get their students talking like a scientist with the help of this tool! #NGSSchat
  • richbacolor Jan 18 @ 9:15 PM EST

A1: Before moving the tri-state area, I was working with @lizette_burks and KS teachers. We've been fortunate to work with @STEMTeachTools and picking 1 or 2 is hard. lol . It depends on what the Ts I'm working with at the time need. #NGSSChat

A1: That being said, I think talk moves are often overlooked but so important, so I appreciate those tools (like #6 I think as one example) #NGSSChat

  • Megan_Cannon Jan 18 @ 9:17 PM EST
That's what I hear from our Ts in OK. They want their students to discuss science in a meaningful way, but many don't know how to get started. This gives them that starting point. #NGSSchat
