Our mission for our 21st century chat is to create a positive 21st century learning environment for our students by sharing resources and ideas that has worked in our classrooms. Join us every Sunday from 8:00-9:00 PM (EST) on Twitter using the hashtag #21stedchat. All are welcome!
A1. You can have students create ‘book trailers’ or review using iMovie so other students can preview it or see a review! Or you can place codes inside books where you want the S to stop & do a comprehension check or a reading response. #21stedchat
A1. Add QR codes to class work or homework as helpful hints. For example, if the student forgets how to solve a math problem or gets stuck, they can scan the QR code for help. You can put them at the bottom of the page or right next to the problem. #21stedchat
Use @MetaverseApp - designed review games, test questions, lab procedures, S made projects...even made a talking learn your animals for my 3 yr old. #21stedchat
Hey #21stedchat I am in another chat right now and haven't mastered two yet, but I see you are talking about VR/AR in edu. You might like to check out Genius XR in the App store - it's in beta. I like it because you can create your own AR experiences.
A4. MR combines elements of both AR and VR, real-world and digital objects interact. This is still very new and I see it becoming more popular within the next few years as people get more comfortable with AR and VR. #21stedchat
Ok I have done a couple of these, it’s a free app you download, playing is pretty straight forward, creating takes some practice, but it’s kinda of a visual programming language. Here is one of mine ...you need the app to play. #21stedchat
Love your honesty and love you didn't give up and tried again. Maybe the resource like I shared will help. I also love @nearpod resources too. #21stedchat
A4 one of the things I like to do is to use VR as a starter and then QR as a deeper dive into content. I ask students what is something they wanted to learn about what was in the VR that wasn’t there to start #21stedchat
A5: We have to prove how they can be meaningful, memorable, relevant, and student-centered, while still learning standards. I think most educators want BOTH fun AND curriculum-related. They want engaging (if not empowering) AND substantial learning. #21stedchat
Thanks everyone for another great #21stedchat next week we will be discussing: Student Engagement - How Can We Increase It. Tune in next Sunday at 8 PM ET with @Edu_Thompson and I.
TY for your kind words, @Edu_Thompson! Great to hear from you. No shortage of resources to revisit in #21stedchat tonight. TY for sharing. Helps me to hear directly from other educators (& students) how to make teaching and learning better with these resources. Hope all is well.
