I'm Danny "Sunshine" Bauer . . . host of the #1 podcast for school leaders "Better Leaders Better Schools" and the "School Leadership Series" available on @ApplePodcasts and @amazonecho#AKedchat#BLBS
Hi @alienearbud thanks for hosting #akedchat Im Sue in Juneau, AK. I love twitter since I started about 2 years ago! Itâs really opened up my world. Have loved connecting with educators from all over!
Alaska is amazing! I especially love our rural district tweeters like @AlaskaTeacher, such a unique teaching experience you canât get anywhere else in the lower 48 ;) #akedchat
A1: I'm a fan of podcasts and know of a lot schools empowering students to tell their story or like @Demetrius_Ball who tells the story of his school for his parents + community #AKedchat
A1: I have separate IG accounts, one for me and one for school. Parents enjoy seeing what we have going on in class, and Ss get to explain things to their parentals. #AKedchat
Hi, I am Audrey Drew in Anchorage, AK. I am an Ed Tech Collaborator with the Anchorage School District and work with 9 schools. My favorite Social Media Platform as of the moment is a close Google+ followed by Twitter. I know Google+ is slower, but I love the focused groups!
People seem to enjoy my quotes, pics of family, or audiograms. Tips would depend on your goals but I would say engage with other accounts just like Twitter and post a few times a day. #AKedchat
Alaska classrooms- save the date! #alaskadinosaurs chat with @BLMAlaska coming May 3, @ 9-11am AKST. Classrooms can also email questions to blmalaska@blm.gov #akedchat#AKLearns
#akedchat A1: @Flipgrid is my favorite social media tool right now. My students enjoy making videos. I loved their self-evaluations that I was able to share with their parents.
A2: My inspiration comes from 3 places ...
1 - My #mastermind members and challenges they face
2 - Questions from my #BLBS tribe
3 - What I'm reading #AKedchat
A2: If I'm being honest, my inspiration is fairly selfish. I want to show off what's happening in my classroom and see if I stack up with other fantastic educators out there! #AKedchat
A2 Inspiration comes from all the great things happening in our school, celebrating students, teachers, lunch chef, operations & maintenance... there is always something positive, people giving, learning, growing to shine a light on . #AKedchat
I began about a year ago. I'm liking it but I don't know if I'm using it "right." Are you looking for tips on how to use it or who to follow or...? #akedchat
Q 1: Prior to this year I was probably more of a Twitter reader; reading, but not contributing that much. I am using Twitter more to learn and share when I find something I feel worth sharing. I share what I learn at this point.
My favorite social media platform for professional use is definitely Twitter. I love how it allows me to connect with and learn from so many people from all over. #akedchat
A1 I don't know how creative it is, but I love to use my Facebook Page to try and promote teachers who are doing a great job integrating tech. I want to tell the story of tech integration in our district by showcasing meaningful use combined with great instruction. #akedchat
A1 I guess another way is to use Twitter to help connect students with people outside the classroom. Always interesting to search #science or #math to find real-world applications of these subjects. #akedchat
#AKedchat A2: My students and my own children inspire me. They provide a lot of material (some could be used in a stand up comedy routine). I am also inspired by other moms who are trying to juggle life as a mom and a teacher.
A4: This is my brand in a nutshell đI help school admin fight isolation and frustration via a leadership community in order to gain clarity and find solutions to their greatest challenges. đŻ#BLBS#AKedchat
I will have to check it out: It was a big job investing into twitter full time for a year, hoping to scale back a little for the 2018-2019 school year @damonhargraves ;) #akedchat

A2 One of the things that inspires me most is when teachers model learning. I love it when teachers step outside their comfort zone and learn alongside students. Or when teachers empower students when they might know more than the teacher. #AKedchat
Lol. I followed the tweets of about 700 Alaskan Educators this year (subscribe to my AK educators list to do the same) Iâm all up in everyoneâs business ;) #akedchat
My Instagram is for my hobbies. I enjoy it but don't use it much at all for teacher stuff. Sometimes I use the #teachersofinstagram hashtag but mostly its all fun at @booksbyrob on IG. #akedchat

A 4: I am still working on my branding. I am new this year to my position and I am yet again a chameleon, possibly changing. I have taken on https://t.co/q6nFSxIDgO and promoting CS Standards for AK. So something with CS for everyone is my brand. #akedchat#code.org
A5: My why = impact. I love seeing people break through their "upper limits." When the special leaders I coach take the next step in their craft, the kids and community greatly benefit and my peeps feel an incredible amount of satisfaction with their work #AKedchat#BLBS
A5: I try to lead by example. I don't see others at my school site posting, so why not me? Also, I love keeping somewhat up on the trends, both educational and pop cultural. #AKedchat
A5: I want to share what I learn with others. I also am looking for more; maybe a comment, extension, or more information that helps with my ability to help others. I learn more with a global sounding board:) #akedchat
A1 I've been assigning more online-housed assignments to showcase on the school's FB which I help admin. It's quite a job to make that happen! We're doing #TEDtalk style #geniushour reports soon and the bold Ss want to use FB live for it. #AKedchat
A6: As an AP I led a group of ~ 100 high school students from the south side of Chicago to run the Chicago Marathon. They finished it and raised $10K for clean water projects. Our social media posting led to the news picking up and spreading our story #AKedchat#BLBS
A5: I am the only 5th Grade teacher on a small island! Twitter is my "imaginary" teachers lounge. I am a nerd, I love to share, I love to connect, and most importantly I love to learn from others. #akedchat
Do you follow @MathDenisNJ (not an Alaskan but hopefully he will come visit sometime soon) love his #makeitreal instant relevance/popculture chat on Wednesday after #KidsDeserveIt#akedchat

That's a great question. I think a myriad of things: Not sure how, don't think it's important, don't want another thing in their to do lists, intimidation. #AKedchat
Also, it gets me to see the good. Gets me out of my office with kids and teachers. Forces me to find the good stuff too. Goal is every classroom everyday. Doesnât happen everyday. But I try. #AKedchat#BLBS
A7 In my experience it is a misunderstanding from a Central Office leadership level as well as fear. Nothing good ever happens when people are afraid. And when you act on that, you miss out on all the good. #AKedchat#BLBS
A6: Connecting with fellow teachers regarding coding, ideas for student engagement tools, and learning opportunities for teachers. Again, newbie with Twitter here and just learning Twitter as a social media tool. Biggest challenge is keeping up.
A7: Biggest challenge is knowing how to share out; so that those that might benefit see a share on social media. How do we communicate with a bigger group and gain participants? How do we get more of our teachers using social media opportunities? PD on social media? #akedchat
Just one from today: The amazing ways teachers engage with kids. A teacher using Linoit to share topics for a Ponder Project. Some cool ideas from kids. https://t.co/IsJvKumTKQ#AKedchat
A4: My brand is a work in progress. I like so many different things! Right now my focus is on place-based learning. Every year I pick one subject area to really focus on and try to improve. #akedchat
A8: I'm launching a @YouTube channel focused on inspiring, motivating, encouraging, challenging, supporting school leaders to live out my mission. #BLBS#AKedchat
