    A1: To allow fun in the classroom, I incorporate a lot of games both with and without technology, as well as music. I tell the Ss that I want them to have fun and laugh because it makes the class and day better. #tlap

    2) #tlap Kids love field trips but that doesn’t mean you have to charter a bus. Sometimes just getting students outside into a field, into the real world, and teaching the same content in the same way, in a new space can bring it to life.

    A2: When I was in the classroom, I used to love organizing and running the Grade 4 Bazaar with my students. They did things like announcements, created posters, made tickets, organized and ran stations. There were so many great skills in there but it was beyond our 4 walls. #tlap

    A3 Leader in Me is a big piece of the culture at my school and there’s a lot of focus on instilling the 7 habits which lends to this. Intention w/ brain friendly teaching (ex. Kagan) is huge too. Intentional Read alouds w/ focuses are helpful too like Stick & Stone #tlap

    I have both. I created a Google slides and made a chart and put in the letters for them and display it on the white board. I also purchased 6 actual games. Sometimes I control the game and other times I allow them to form a group and make it work! #tlap

    A4: My Ss create their own rules (norms) for Game Club. With 40+ Ss staying after school on Friday afternoon with a dozen or so tabletop games out (& the Ss competitive nature), their norms & consequences prevent me from ever needing to put fires. #tlap

    A4: I assign Ss jobs in my classroom whether it is collecting or passing out papers, helping with tech, etc. The Ss like to take ownership of the classroom and in turn that helps keep things running smoothly. SS also have a say in our schoolwide PBIS committee. #tlap

    Yes! This reminds me of when we do "expert" lists when doing a project of some kind involving technology. They sign up for areas they feel comfortable supporting others and then we post it. When students are having a problem, they can find an expert in the class to ask. #tlap

    A4: my students are on teams. Their teams complete tasks together around the room with daily jobs, my Ss are also sorted into houses and they work together to earn points (awards are earned) & it forces them to hold one another accountable for their actions #tlap

    A5: Changed up my math statistics unit in MS to include taking actual statistics from sports, and what better sport than Quidditch? Had 1/2 the Ss play, the other 1/2 record what happened. Used our stats to choose MVPs. They needed to move, so we moved! #tlap

    A5: One of my recent favs was when I visited one of the T I mentored Spanish classes. Talking with Ss after their presentations. They said they didn’t know how 2 engage the audience. Created a tool for Ss inspired by #tlap. Visited 2 days later and the presentations blew me away.

    Thanks Tamara for the good words. I normally give them choice. Writing every day as formative assessment is so important. Voluminous writing and reading and creating the opportunity for students to do both is what I will always fight tooth and nail for. #tlap

    A5: My students were really curious about some castle artwork displayed in the hallway. They had lots of questions. A whole castle exploration/research unit was born from that. They turned our room into a castle museum and invited parents in to teach them about castles. #tlap

    I find that having students write less helps too. I focus on sentences a lot because I can give easier, faster feedback. So before I LET you write a paragraph, show me your topic sentence and let me sign off on that. #tlap #iledchat

    A7: On Monday & Friday morning, our class does “Share Ball”-I got a ball from Dollar Tree & kiddos toss it to each other to share or ask questions-it’s worked for the last 3 yrs to keep everyone listening to & interested in each other! The best part, everyone gets a turn! #TLAP

    A7 Fave class teambuilder is singing a song that says "______ is a friend of mine in my Pre-k class". Another is drawing a heart to add names of those who are absent and wish them well . I also thank them for cleaning up OUR class after center time. #preklikeapirate #tlap

    A7: each day for the first week the Ss come in and have to work together to sit a certain way- ex: day one was by birthday month, day two was alphabetical by first name. It was a fun way for them to meet each other and communicate for an end goal #tlap
