The #educoach hashtag is used by instructional coaches around the world. We chat each Wednesday at 8pm CST on Twitter and use the hashtag throughout the week to share resources, ask questions and collaborate with instructional coaches.
I'm Kathy, a member of the #educoach moderator team. @kennycmckee should be joining in with the moderating in a little bit. I'm an educational consultant, trainer for instructional coaching and a virtual coach for teachers, instructional coaches and school leaders!
My success is on a personal level. Summer has started. Spent the last two days away from the house as it was being reroofed (due to hail damage last year). Great to have that done! #educoach
Kristi- Inst. Facilitator, MO. My success story this is week IS my week! I had 4 appts- GP, annual skin check, dentist and hair (school’s out 😊) & quality time with my kids getting our summer routine down. They are in bed asleep and I’m on my new deck ready for #educoach!
Yes - we need that time to wind down and get things done that are more difficult to do during the school year. (I'm enjoying a glass of wine right now, too! CHEERS) #educoach
I'm Brianne, Instructional Coach in Houston. Today I co-presented @cfisdrrr about the steps to building a positive culture and we had a great group of participants! #educoach
YouTube is a great resource for learning to knit. I learned the old fashioned way (early 2000s faculty meetings), but use YouTube when I can’t remember a stitch. #educoach
Reading for pleasure is on my list too. Have you written any grants. My suggestion is to find smaller ones to get started. I was successful with some local ones. #educoach
A1: Hmmm... outside of education, I am currently learning a lot about building a house! Not with my own hammer and nails, but the whole process has been a lot of fun! #educoach
A1: My personal learning goal this summer is focused on health and wellness. I'm interested in counting macros instead of calories, and eating whole and clean foods. I am starting with this book: #TheObesityCode by J.Fung. Don't let the name fool you-it's for everyone! #educoach
A2 I will be using YouTube, learning with a friend, and taking a class at our local community Makerspace - to learn to knit/crochet. #educoach For exercise I'm using @HeartSoulFit and Yoga by Adriene.
Launching "PD by the Pool" - a hyperdoc filled with podcasts, ebooks, TED Talks, & links to resources to continue learning over the summer in order to recharge and find inspiration for the fall. #RPSLead#educoach#rpscoaching
A2: I have an advisor who mentors me, checks in with me, provides me with feedback. But there’s a lot of alone time just putting in the work. I love to use visual displays and organizers to find and describe connections among themes. #educoach
A2: To read more fiction for pleasure, I may try reading without a pencil in my hand. I’m always marking great mentor sentences to lift for writing instruction. #educoach
A2: I am going to read some books, I've joined a few facebook communities, started a pinterest board for recipes, and have friends who are already successful and knowledgeable who I am going to use as a resource- AND my mom is learning along with me. #educoach
I think this is an awesome goal. My favorite version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow is to Ukulele. You can learn it and bring it school :) Talk about a PD hook! #educoach
A3: Professionally, I want to continue writing! I spoke at a conference today, have another one at the end of July, and have a story being published in a book soon. But my blog has been neglected. I also want to reflect more on my year and set some goals for next year! #educoach
A3 Professionally - I have a lot of writing in my future. Working on two big project along with doing more blogging. We are hitting the road with The #CoachApproach - so pretty excited for that. #educoachhttps://t.co/G9GI6wd60a
A3: It’s all tied in to my research, but I want to explore feedback mechanisms for coaching practices that include both qualitative and quantitative measures. Think about how to improve? What matters? #educoach
A3: This summer I plan to read The Art of Coaching and Never Underestimate Your Teachers. I want to focus on improving as an inst. coach. and create a template for goals & progress that works better for me and T during cycles. #educoach@artofcoaching1@Robyn_Mindsteps
A4: My goal is to have coaching cycles this next year along with the PD I've been facilitating. Going to a 2-day training on Jim Knight strategies in Council Bluffs this summer. And to the TLC summit in August. #educoach
For those of you that want to add blogging to your summer goals we do have an #educoach blogging tribe https://t.co/0BHUH5iqng Feel free to join. You can use twitter and/or join our FB group.
A4: the same way I learn almost everything else... time alone to process and research followed by collaboration with others. Finally, some reflection and revision. And on it goes... #educoach
I have some "to read" selections for the summer, too! One is to review "Student Centered Coaching" by @SweeneyDiane and then dive into "Student-Centered Coaching: The Moves"! #educoach
A5 I will be attending a co-teaching training, presenting at our local elementary literacy symposium, presenting at the Iowa Reading Conference and doing two #coachapproach institutes. Summer learning at its finest. https://t.co/9YNPQ0k0hO#educoach
A5: I have a group who is still reading and meeting about I am Reading by @Mattglover123 and @KathyCollins15. We met once in May and have meet ups this summer at various places like patios for happy hour and Panera for breakfast. We make summer learning fun! #educoach#itlearn
A5: My summer is packed! The point is to never stop growing and learning. We are never finished! So regardless of where you spend your time, reflect on its potential to improve your teaching, coaching, and leadership. #educoach
A5: Iowa has a Teacher Leadership summit in August --- I'm looking forward to hearing from other districts about their teacher leader roles, successes and fails. #educoach
What day is that ... I probably should get there and MEET YOU in person! #educoach (Well - technically I will have already met you at the Reading Conf. right!)
A5: I’m taking a class on the “Ecology of Schools” ... working with teacher leaders to develop an instructional playbook for our district a la @jimknight99, taking a trip to France with my family. Oh and I’m hoping to brush up on my French. Loving Québécoise radio !#educoach
A5: I can’t wait to attend the @R13Coaches Coaching Conference!!! I am so excited about all the learning. They definitely helped me focus some of my own coaching goals! #educoach
A6: I’m reading some books for a course I’m taking in the fall @uvmcess on collaborative consultation. Also reading some French books for the rusty... #educoach
I'd love to, but my husband has softball on Thursdays in the summer and we typically follow it up with @wingstop with a few others on the team. I will add it to my calendar recurring so when I am available on Thursdays, I can join. Thanks! #educoach
A7: I will spend time with my coaching tribe at the workshops we are attending together this summer. When we put our heads together -- things happen! #educoach

A7: I’ll be sharing my work with my dissertation committee, presenting it in August. Hopefully, I’ll get permission to start gathering a database coaches willing to work on developing and testing instruments by fall. #educoach
A7: I plan to make more time to blog and get back to my twitter chats. But just good conversations with coworkers, sharing new ideas is always my favorite! #educoach
A8 I'm looking at how teachers can use coaching techniques to coach students in the classroom. Would love to hear your thoughts. Any resources you've run across? #educoach
A8: I really need help with a document to keep me on track with pre-cycle meetings, goals, tracking, and reflections with coach cycles. I think seeing what others use will help me springboard some new ideas because what I am doing now just isn't working. #educoach
A9 I'm starting out each day with gratitude and a walk with the dog or exercise. No mindless TV! Also spending time on my deck writing - either blog or one of two big projects.Taking time to spend with friends and family. #educoach
