A1 It has to always put students first. If it is not there to help students be better or deeper learning, I can’t #getonboard Their well-being and happiness is most important. I will always do what it takes for kids. Even go against status wuo. #edtech4good
Q1: Educators are faced with many new initiatives. What are the qualities that stick with you when deciding to #getonboard with a new #edtech4good project or program?
A1 I always ask myself: how is this relevant/beneficial/helpful to my students?
And will it enable everyone to be heard, respected, and acknowledged? #edtech4good
A1. It must make a difference for my learners (adults) & in turn hopefully make a difference for theirs (students). I also want it to be something that's best for my learners - both what they need & what they want. #edtech4good
A1 I always ask how will this help kids, how easy can I incorporate it into our learning, I also look for real world applications, how will using this build skills that will transfer to other learning #edtech4good
Q1: Educators are faced with many new initiatives. What are the qualities that stick with you when deciding to #getonboard with a new #edtech4good project or program?
A1: It needs to be something that will improve, not just change, my current practice. It must be something that will excite and enhance the education of my kids! #edtech4good
Q1: Educators are faced with many new initiatives. What are the qualities that stick with you when deciding to #getonboard with a new #edtech4good project or program?
A1. I also want things to be culturally relevant for my learners, practical and easy to redeliver/implement. It's important that initiatives also promote learner agency! #edtech4good
A1 I look at the benefit for student growth, what is it going to do differently/better, does it promote student choice and is it relevant/authentic, #edtech4good
A1: I am constantly asking “Is it best for my Ss?” I want to believe in something to #getonboard. It needs to have purpose & be something that enhances the learning experience for my Ss for me to completely buy in! #edtech4good
Hello! Phil Wagener, Education Technology Specialist with @ksuiteach. My Top 3 motivators “think outside the box” would have to be @Stephsteph83, @Kristy_Wagener, and my son Colton. Without the love and support from these three, I would be too scared to try anything. #EdTech4Good
Q2: Think back on a time when you decided to take a chance and #getonboard with a new program. What did you try and what were the results? #edtech4good
Thanks Kristin. I feel quite strongly that in #EdTech-privileged contexts we should be sharing, experimenting and modeling ideas and resources. #EdTech4Good
A1: End goal- the students- will it make a difference/ impact them positively. In my role, I try to streamline possibilities so as to not overwhelmTs #edtech4good
Q2: Think back on a time when you decided to take a chance and #getonboard with a new program. What did you try and what were the results? #edtech4good
Q2 is up! Think back on a time when you decided to take a chance and #getonboard with a new program. What did you try and what were the results? #edtech4good
A2 I think that was the time when I tried out G classroom. I tried it out in 1 class, great results. In another class, not so great. Stepped back, reflected and started thinking about how I can make it better #edtech4good
A1 Relevance & longevity. Is the initiative something relevant to the district, curriculum, or Ss and what is the life expectancy of the initiative. Is it a fad or a culture change, will it last a year or two, or will it be something worth our investment over time #edtech4good
@EmpaticoOrg A1 I usually #GetOnBoard with programs that are student/teacher friendly, are easy to navigate, and any free resources are always a plus. Time is of the essence and teachers hardly have any! Ease of use is the biggest thing for me. #Edtech4good
A2: I will never forget what happened when I tried the Flipped Classroom model for the first time! Organic, student-led, authentic learning #EdTech4Good
A2 I needed to get on board with a grammar program for my kids. I knew it was dry, boring & had little positive results. So I used the program to inspire creativity. A bit of grammar songs, games with the grammar police. I did my best to add some fun & engagement. #edtech4good
Q2: Think back on a time when you decided to take a chance and #getonboard with a new program. What did you try and what were the results? #edtech4good
Love this. Not about the success at the end, but instead on the growth that occurred through the process of learning and reflection! And, not all experiences will be the same! Amazing! #edtech4good#getonboard
A1: is authentic? Does it HELP Ss? Is it efficient? Ask ourselves are we already doing it/it’s better to not be redundant. Is this something we can sustain? Or will it fade away? #EdTech4Good
Time is truly what I hear is the biggest barrier! Important to find trusted resources that are ready to put right into ACTION with students! #edtech4good
A2. My colleague & I built out a coaching program this year - we were up against the odds & major time constraints, we produced something that our participants loved. 3 sessions abt soft skills & dispositions of coaching - Coaching Collaborative. Very proud of it. #edtech4good
A2 I decided to #getonboard and flip my classroom. I had to investigate quite a bit about how to get started and I had to make very concrete plans for how I would begin. It took me 4 years to get my flipped classroom to the point where I felt it was truly successful #edtech4good
A2: I was fortunate enough to be handed the reins to develop our STEAM program. I had to try and fail in multiple ways in order to convince others to #Getonboard . The results are mixed, but we now have an increase in STEAM integration without me directing it. #EdTech4Good
@EmpaticoOrg This year, I got on board with @EmpaticoOrg and the results were amazing! My students loved connecting with a partner class and I loved having awesome lessons to implement! We were able to #SparkEmpathy and use #Edtech4good!
A2: Biggest risk was leaving classroom for admin and getting on board with that major change. I fe always tried to be a student first and teacher-centered admin. #edtech4good
A2 #PBL and also stations and blended learning, definitely had to prep and learn as much as I could, be flexible, reflect, keep on learning #edtech4good
A2 I used Google classroom last year when I had one to one tech and it was amazing. I was able to do so much and share quickly with all S’s, all Google products have been amazing, during our #TheEmpathyChallenge our S’s collaborated w/ S’s in Memphis on Google Slides #edtech4good
A2: I think doing my first @Skype last year w/ @sdtitmas paved the way to developing a #globalcollaboration learning project for this year! And today, we officially colored in our last state! We’ve connected with ALL 59 states this year! Woohoo! 🎉 #edtech4good
A2 I tried out more apps like Padlet, Flipgrid, and Edpuzzle. I pushed myself to find apps that had collab features. The results, more student-driven PTCs and stories than teacher talk #edtech4good
Q3: As your students are preparing to leave your class this year, what skills, competencies and memories do you hope they take with them based on a new project you did? #edtech4good
A2 Let 4th graders navigate their own research and facilitated discretion versus handing them the research on a topic. Result- deeper understanding of topic, multimedia research instead of just print articles &Ss vested in the work and left with real 🌎 skills in #edtech4good
A2: I decided to trust & try PBL 5 years ago and it opened up an entirely new way of teaching and learning for me. All about failing forward! #EdTech4Good
Q3: As your students are preparing to leave your class this year, what skills, competencies and memories do you hope they take with them based on a new project you did? #edtech4good
A1: when jumping into trying a new initiative, I always ask myself "How is this changing the learning and engagement for my students?" " How am I going to grow as an educator implementing this program in my class?" Potential growth is a the selling point for me! #EdTech4Good
A2 loving taking on #TheEmpathyChallenge with @Empatico because I have seen the positive impact on my 1st graders in such a short time! They have learned so much! ❤️️ #edtech4good
TY! It was. Unfortunately, we didn't secure funding to continue it, but we're hoping to find other outlets to keep it going. Capacity building in coaching is so important! #edtech4good
A3 As I don’t have Ss this year, for those I have connected with for virtual lessons, I hope they took away the importance of being themselves and spreading kindness and positivity. If I can plant seeds of hope and impact, I know I did a good job. #edtech4good
Q3: As your students are preparing to leave your class this year, what skills, competencies and memories do you hope they take with them based on a new project you did? #edtech4good
A2 This year, we started the traveling innovation and exploration lab at three of our Title 1 schools. We explored robotics, design thinking, 3D printing and more. The most important result was access to innovation for many students. #getonboard#edtech4good
Q2: Think back on a time when you decided to take a chance and #getonboard with a new program. What did you try and what were the results? #edtech4good
A3: I hope our #globalcollaboration journey taught my Ss empathy & that they leave with a 💙 of connecting & learning from others! Beyond content, each connection allowed my Ss to travel the 🌎 and meet new friends! #edtech4good
A3 I hope my students try out the apps and use them to collaborate more effectively, to manage deadlines better, and to create content they feel happy and proud to show #edtech4good
#getonboard A1 #EdTech4Good I always look for what's going to push the Ss , egg them on to ask questions , to look at themselves as stakeholders in their learning process and something that adds value to their existing experience of learning
A3: my students our the art teachers I work with and I hope they leave feeling like they can take deep dive into inquiry & essential questions in the art room #EdTech4Good
A1. Inclusive and innovative. As a 1stGen growing up, I struggled with the idea of price tags limiting opportunities for furthering my education. Creativity and ongoing innovation is a given. #edtech4good
A4 when I was a science teacher I taught units on insects and birds I was so excited when students told me how they could recognize the birds in their backyards based on our lessons and how they collected various insects over the summer to show me in the fall #edtech4good
A3. My hope is that our learners left the program feeling more confident in their ability to serve their colleagues. I also hope they left encouraged, inspired and enthusiastic about sharing, learning & growing alongside the colleagues they coach! #edtech4good

Q3: As your students are preparing to leave your class this year, what skills, competencies and memories do you hope they take with them based on a new project you did? #edtech4good
A3: I want the students to leave the school year being better people, better readers, better learners than they were on day one. If they don’t, we must think about what we can do better! #edtech4good
#getonboard A2. #EdTech4Good@PenpalSchools this academic year what really worked well for me was Ss participating in the project and what came out of it was such a vast learning. I saw a perceptive change in a few students thought process and that got transferred into actions
A3: my students our the art teachers I work with and I hope they leave feeling like they can take deep dive into inquiry & essential questions in the art room #EdTech4Good
We’re building community improvement prototypes with @littleBits, so for me, I hope they come away with the sense that they can successfully build what they imagine. #edtech4good
A3: This year was a formative year w/ K-5 Ts as we started to scratch the surface late fall tinkering with the meaning of effective edtech. My hope is that #WO2World Ts can front load the upcoming yr with foundational skills and 🚀 #edtech4good
A3: I hope that students continue to grow their skills in empathy and know without a doubt that ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference in the lives of others. And that impact does not have an age restriction. #edtech4good
A3 I hope that they are more globally aware, have a growth mindset, take more risks and feel more confident and develop more self-advocacy and student agency, #edtech4good
