A1:first few days are critical. Students, Teachers, Admin are figuring out what kind of year it's going to be. Set the tone & culture from the start and make them excited about your class or about working at your school. Never get a 2nd chance to make a first impression #cuechat

A3: Spend the first two weeks not covering content. Teach strategies, tech tools and team building before diving into content. The pacing guide is for the teacher, not teacher for the pacing guide. Coverng more material doesn't mean more learning. #IllGetOffMySoapbox#cuechat

A3- I started with AP Olympics inspired by @acdcleadership The first week we focused on culture, team building, and the 4 Cs, in a fun way. Students were able to practice soft skills while having fun and getting revved up to start the class. #CUEchat

@edcampOSjr#cuechat I try to use a lot of Team Building and ClassBuilding a la Kagan. Having fun together and learning about each other helps to establish that. Also, having Classroom jobs for everyone helps my students own the class.

A3: Do a lot of team building activities to make your classroom culture completely evident. Use flippity's random grouping to get your kids interacting with as many other kids as possible. @joboaler has some great "Inspirational Math" activities to start the year #cuechat
A3c: Get to know your students and colleagues through the lens of #TrueColors and learn four parts of everyone's personality, their strengths and when to draw upon different parts of personality. #cuechat

#CUEchat. #WeAreCUE I like to use music for the background, and use it while practicing procedures- makes it fun. GoNoodle is a fun tool to get Ss up and dancing and moving.
