A1 A mix, school PD and a lot of my own PD through Twitter, Voxer groups, my #4OCFPLN and attending edcamps and other conferences, reading a lot #BookCampPD#prodriven
I’m very fortunate where I am. My principal differentiates PD so it’s applicable to all staff. Very important as a non classroom teacher who used to have to attend T oriented PD’s many years ago. #bookcamppd#prodriven
A1 some is "training" bc mandated by state, but a lot of my own chosen PD is learning bc it is my interest in the topic, or joining in a book study, or learning on my own #BookCampPD#prodriven

A1. I have PD that I must do w/my school of course (which doesn’t always transfer to Media), I have participated in Media PLC. The PD I get the most out of is the stuff I choose: book studies, #EdCamp, & chats right here. #BookCampPD
Yes, I think different states have a greater or lesser emphasis on required PD dependent on their legislature and Dept of Ed. <-- this is what I have observed #BookCampPD
A2 I need time to explore on my own, attend learning events and conferences that I seek out, be able to drive my own learning, just like we want for our Ss #BookCampPD#prodriven
A2. My ideal PD experience is one that is driven by my interests: something that I believe is important, is relevant for what students need to learn (maybe not on a curriculum map, but for their future), or something that I just want to know more about! #BookCampPD
I agree, definitely want it to be something that is focused on my students, and I love learning too, especially learning from them #bookcamppd#ProDriven

A3 It is important to model lifelong learning and the idea of not giving up, to keep looking for the next challenge to overcome, a problem to be solved, #BookCampPD#prodriven
I have a bunch of I wonders. I am working on writing projects, and doing some research in the form of reading and staying current on blog posts, but I also like hearing the ideas of his many Educators from places around the world and with different backgrounds #bookcamppd
A3. So many educators have shared with me what a difference it made in their long term learning that I was modeling/sharing/wondering as their principal. It was life-changing for many of them. #BookCampPD
A3 When we are ProDriven, we are engaged in learning and doing more to bring about more opps for our Ss and colleagues, to be our best selves for others #BookCampPD#prodriven
A3. To keep my teaching skills sharp & to be able to help my kids be successful is first. It also makes me be more reflective, to figure out where I need to focus. There is SO MUCH vying for our attention as educators. Focus is critical! #BookCampPD#prodriven
I was reflecting, just before the chat this morning, about how amazing it is to imagine the different perspectives of those joining a chat on any given day. We are SO fortunate to have Twitter! #BookCampPD

I agree, there is a lot, the survey I created is giving me some other insight into what the issues are that educators believe we need to focus more on #BookCampPD#prodriven
A1- Initially I definitely participated in training. Since I began taking care of my own PD, esp in the last year, I have been actively learning. #prodriven#BookCampPD
A3: Goal of PD=to improve S outcomes & T practice. Being pro driv sets pos. example for our Ss & staff, encourages others, promotes pos. culture, & creates commty. of lifelong intrinsic learners. If we expect this of our Ss, we have to model it ourselves. #bookcamppd#ProDriven
A1) I would say the majority that I give and receive is training. There is very little time devoted to personalized professional development, and until it's recognized for being as imperative as it is, this will probably continue #bookcamppd
A4 I always want to learn more and wish I had a better way to balance my time, or have a little more time to go visit other schools as well #BookCampPD#prodriven
Hey everyone at #bookcamppd, catching up and hopping in while getting the eldest boy going back to college :) Mandy from WI - Director of Innovation & Tech & author of the #firewithinbook
A4 I think sometimes there is a fear of trying something different or taking risks, but we have to get over that and just go for it and learn either way . #BookCampPD#prodriven
Absolutely! When we experience having choices ourselves, it reinforces the importance of giving same types of learning experiences & excitement to our Ss. Adults & children have diff learn styles, preferences, & interests..& should be encouraged to explore #bookcamppd#prodriven
A3: We need to have plans for bringing information back to the classrooms/schools so that our students get the best out of our learning. #bookcamppd#prodriven
This year I'm planning to explore opportunities to have my students collaborate with different classrooms via technology. I'm so excited about all the new kinds of learning this will bring into my classroom for them! #BookCampPD
A4. Getting kids, especially girls, at least exposed to the possibilities presented with computer science, video production, getting better & more consistent with podcasting, professional blogging, & personally blogging about my journey with food. #BookCampPD#prodriven
Terrific! I too have recently connected with FB pages, in addition to sharing #BookCampPD here on Twitter. There have been many more connections with our website https://t.co/S5pzTtgW6A through making the FB links. #BookCampPD

A1: #PD is extremely important to me. Podcasts, reading latest research and especially learning from my ever-growing Twitter #PLN are the best ways for me since Im in Kuwait and far away from most conferences and there is little locally.#BookCampPD
