A1: give them time, and listen to them

A2: when you do have to discipline, conversations about behavior expectations go easier, helps with preventive measures

Q3: What strategies do you use to build teacher capacity for building and supporting positive relationships with students?

A4 Lawson High Schools has a mentoring program called StepUp that pairs upperclassmen with ninth graders at risk.

Q4: we need to work on this. Some have it,some don't & admin needs to provide opportunities to grow here

A1: We have a pizza with the principal every so often. Just to shoot the breeze.

Q5: If you could create the ideal mentoring model, what would it look like?

Counselor started S Ambassador program this year- working on growing them as leaders

A4 Lawson High Schools has a Trading Card Program that features several student who pledge to be drug and alcohol free.

A2 We rely on the student body to help with school improvement. They have helped to focus priorities and allocation of resources.

A5 Ideal mentoring programs would involve a large percentage of peer to peer sharing of information and time.

A5 Students would lead conversations and help develop leadership in others.
