We use a lot of peer tutoring, flashcards, ESOL resource teacher, paraeducator, Rosetta Stone, and translation apps

Seeing the words helps them. I start with a simple/catchy one (ie ABC by the Jackson 5). :)

It varies. I will find a popular English song, print the lyrics & play a snip of the song & kids follow along.
