Join in the #HISDAdminChat conversation each Sunday night at 6pm CST as we discuss the challenges we face and the successes we celebrate while learning and leading as an HISD Administrator.
Eric Tingle, Regional Manager @teainfo! When I was a principal, it was usually in the cafeteria or in the front foyer greeting. Good evening everyone! #HISDAdminChat
Hi! I’m Amanda from @Braeburn_HISD. When the first bell rings, I can be found in the cafeteria (right after all kids have been picked up by Ts) taking part in our daily admin huddle to make sure we are all on the same page w/ needed info to have a great day! #HISDAdminChat
All your question responses should be JUST 6 WORDS - the challenge is picking the right ones...but I think that's the game we're always playing. #HISDAdminChat
Evening, I am Michael from@@AltonElementary. You can always find me in the cafeteria each morning talking to the kids and getting ready for Morning Huddle #HISDAdminChat

Big fan of the 6-word game ... Kelli from Bellaire, and I’m usually at my door, encouraging students to put a little pep in their steps and get to class! #HISDAdminChat
Meagan Edwards, Principal of Grissom and most mornings you can find me at the front doors greeting our students and parents then I sweep the cafeteria, halls and classrooms saying “Good Morning”! #HISDAdminChat
Good evening! I am Luis Saenz, Patterson ES. Every morning I can be found on the second floor of my school greeting and supervising students! #HISDAdminChat

A1. This test doesn't define your outcome.
Students need to know that we test as a benchmark to see where we need to support them further. It's not the final outcome. #HISDAdminChat
I really like “trust yourself!” (I wanted to add “You’ve got this!” to mine but ran out of words....) So important for kids not to doubt their own abilities. #HISDAdminChat
You tell them to stay positive, use all the strategies and skills they learned in class. Also tell them that their studying is going to pay off big for them!
Hey everyone! It’s Errica #AP at @MCWSTEM and when the first bell rings I’ll be standing right in the middle of the second floor hallway. 🙋🏽♀️ #HISDAdminChat
I like 'stay connected' - there are so many ways we need parents to connected to what we are doing on campus and to building relationships with their child. #HISDAdminChat
I like that. So often I have to remind parents of that - especially in high school when they can, sometimes, seem so resistant to love. They need it even more at those moments. #HISDAdminChat
That holds true for our little guys as well. They won't start doing it in HS if we don't start helping them develop those skills when they are in ES. #HISDAdminChat
So important to recognize and embrace that adults function differently and that is critical when considering becoming a building leader. #HISDAdminChat
