A1 Equality = equal access to resources and opportunities. Equity = âto level the playing field,â where resources are shared according to need.
#globaledchat#TeachSDGs
A1: Equality is treating everyone the same while equity is making sure everyone gets what they need. Equity takes into account context and history. #GlobalEdChat
Welcome! I love that we have several student Ts on today! We welcome your thoughts on how to make ed exciting & fresh for youth. #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
A1 - Equality means that everyone is treated the same; my understanding equality means that you take into account needs and try to give all people the best that you can. It is a balancing act that needs to be easier in our society. #globaledchat#globaledchat
A1 Equality is the same treatment for everyone without accounting for power and privilege; equity is when everyone has what they need so they can fully and justly access opportunities. #GlobalEdChat
#globaledchat A1 Equality is giving everyone the same opportunity to succeed. In the workforce, giving everyone the opportunity to the same job/income.
A1: Equity is intentionally allocating resources to level a playing field. Equality is where everyone gets the level same resources. Equity is a pathway to hopefully achieving equality. #GlobalEdChat
A1: To me, equality means everyone has equal access and equal opportunity to something, which could include receiving extra supports to get there. Equity means there is no barrier and therefore no need for supports and accommodations (level playing field) #GlobalEdChat
That sounds exciting @klburkinshaw1! Please, share some of your titles. Would love to check out - as a former ELA teacher, I love YA lit! #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
A1: I see equality as everyone being treated in the same way. Equity, on the other hand, is providing each person with what they need in order to succeed. #GlobalEdChat
Recently ran across this link suggesting the term gender equality is preferred, - & gender equity used by many who wish to omit the fight for human rights & that different natures of women should call for different treatment. New idea to me. #Globaledchathttps://t.co/qZMpViknHC
A1- To me equality means that everyone no matter what receives the same support, equity means that you receive what you yourself need to in order to succeed which is different for each person
#GlobalEdChat
A1: To me, equality means everyone has the same exact opportunity to achieve. Equity means everyone gets the supports and accommodations to meet their individual need of achieving those same things. #globaledchat
A2: Every day, our schools model an imbalanced system with a disproportionate number of male leaders over a predominately female workforce. #Globaledchat#TeacheSDGs#WomenEd
Hi Anisha! liked that graphic, too. Then I read this interesting critique arguing that the graphic "is an example of deficit thinking â an ideology that blames victims of oppression for their own situation" https://t.co/KvdOQ85wmC#GlobalEdChat
#GlobalEdChat A2 in the teaching field, the pay is equal based on years of experience/education. Starting to see more men move into the elementary ranks and women into the high school ranks as teachers.
A2 - I see it every day. I know that because I am a large male that people view me differently than women and other men. I travel a lot and I tell people to go to a lot of places and most often I am asked, "Would I be safe there?" I have to often remind myself. #globaledchat
@WomenEd_US I agree! This is very relevant especially ito gender and students with different need. If we do not provide, we neglect! #GlobalEdChat#WomenEd
A1: Equity is giving each of my students what they need to be successful while equality is giving my students equal treatment. Here is one of my favorite images relating to the difference! #differentiation#equityvsequality#globaledchat
Gender inequality is present in many aspects of mine and my studentsâ lives. One example is the lack of male educators in the school system. It has been perceived as a âwomanâsâ job in our society for so long that underepresentation of men gives an unfair picture #globaledchat
A2. As previously mentioned, I have a daughter. So, the inequality, misogyny and sexism that is part of the daily American experience is front & center #globaledchat
A2. As mothers many choose to make their children a priority. With this choice I have seen my male colleagues advance faster and higher in the field #GlobalEdChat@WomenEd_US@WomenEd
A2 as a white male i have advantages that others unfortunately dont. I often look thru my daughterâs eyes & female colleagues experiences to be an ally to fight & protest for their equality. It sickens me that unless thereâs change my daughter will be a #metoo#globaledchat
A2 Gender inequality is present in many aspects of mine and my studentsâ lives. One example is the lack of male educators in the school system. It has been perceived as a âwomanâsâ job in our society for so long that underepresentation of men gives an unfair picture #globaledchat
A2) I don't think it's always necessary to point out that I'm the father of daughters, as if that should matter why I care, but that's how it affects my daily life. #GlobalEdChat
Gets at the idea that @ligayabeebe brings up about deficit based thinking and solving the real problem versus just masking it or throwing resources at it. #globaledchat
In reply to
@CarolCampbell4, @elanimcd, @GlobalAnisha, @WomenEd_US, @ligayabeebe
A2-Gender equality to me means that I have the opportunity to be educated where in the past I would not have been allowed to be. Gender inequality means that because I am a woman I may not be treated the same, paid the same, or have the same opportunities
#GlobalEdChat
A1) Equity is an equal opportunity for everyone to have what they want and need. Equality may assume that those wants and needs are much the same. #GlobalEdChat
Interesting, @beccaleech. I'll check out the article. Not sure which term is better. I do want equality but doesn't equity indicate we may need deliberate attention pd to re-framing social constructs, seeing gender on continuum, avoiding stereotypes, etc. #TeachSDGs#globaledchat
Recently ran across this link suggesting the term gender equality is preferred, - & gender equity used by many who wish to omit the fight for human rights & that different natures of women should call for different treatment. New idea to me. #Globaledchathttps://t.co/qZMpViknHC
I teach English and I am one of very few male ELA teachers in the district. It is an imbalance that is sometimes invisible. Oh, that is just one school, but it is a pervasive problem. #globaledchat
#globaledchat#globaledchat A3 We were fortunate yesterday to have a discussion over gender inequality with a class from Buenos Aires, Argentina đŠđ·. Gave our Ss an opportunity to hear the thoughts of these Ss. Lots of similarities to what has been happening in the US.
I think for fathers with daughters this may add a level of beautiful empathy @JeremyDBond The blessings of having daughters keeps growing doesn't it? #GlobalEdChat
A2) I don't think it's always necessary to point out that I'm the father of daughters, as if that should matter why I care, but that's how it affects my daily life. #GlobalEdChat
A3: If not addressed or taught traditionally in the basic curriculum, these will remain. When challenged and discussed (e.g. children gender norms), students begin to understand the system at work and overcome it. #globaledchat#WomenEd
A2: At STEAM, we encourage all students of any gender at our school to pursue their dreams in any STEAM field. When I was a student I was not given this encouragement and I hope to continue to see this change in mindset especially for our young girls! #globaledchat
A2 I am lucky to work in an office where I do not feel the structural or personal ramifications of gender inequality on a daily basis, though I know they are there. I deal with my own gender biases and am subject to those of ppl around me.
#globaledchat#TeachSDGs
A3: Education plays a HUGE role in this! At my teaching placement right now, we have after school programs in place that specifically target girls and new skills in STEAM and athletics just to show that they are ABLE and CAN do whatever they want! đ #globaledchat
A:2 I am far more aware what women experience at work. I do believe women are asked to do tasks that have been deemed stereotypically female such as take minutes at meetings when male colleagues would not be asked #GlobalEdChat
A1- Equality is when all people are equipped with the same tools and resources to meet a similar goal. Equity focuses on the individual - when they have the tools and resources THEY personally need to succeed #globaledchat
A2: At STEAM where I student teach, we encourage ALL students to pursue their dreams in any STEAM field. When I was a student I was not given this encouragement and I hope to continue to see this change in mindset especially for our young girls interesting in STEM! #globaledchat
A3 Adults usually compliment the appearance of girls (âpretty shoesâ), but the aptitude or effort of boys (âgreat idea!â). With every interaction we have w/ students we can dismantle or perpetuate negative expectations for women and girls. #globaledchat
A3: I try dismantling negative expectations for women during class discussions. We may read a book that takes place in the 1800's that mentions that women should not have jobs. I use this as an opportunity to have students discuss why this is so wrong. #globaledchat
Education should seek to dismantle these expectations by showing students examples in all fields where both genders have succeeded. In ELA, teaching novels by both genders can have that impact. However, I often call out bias as I see it as well. #globaledchat
Hi Anisha! liked that graphic, too. Then I read this interesting critique arguing that the graphic "is an example of deficit thinking â an ideology that blames victims of oppression for their own situation" https://t.co/KvdOQ85wmC#GlobalEdChat
#GlobalEdChat Gender inequality is a hot issue in Argentina and the more widespread our concerns about, for example the feminicides which occur in our country, the more chances we'll have of making desired changes. Response from my colleague @rettasil about yesterdayâs talk.
A3: Education plays a HUGE role in this! At my teaching placement right now, we have after school programs in place that specifically target girls and new skills in STEM and athletics just to show that they are ABLE and CAN do whatever they want! đ #globaledchat
A2. As previously mentioned, I have a daughter. So, the inequality, misogyny and sexism that is part of the daily American experience is front & center #globaledchat
It is likely that we all help perpetuate the status quo, because we are products of our culture. I recommend "The Feminist Fight Club" by Jessica Bennett to help us all be aware. For instance, do we let a man succeed in interrupting a woman? #globaledchat
A3 We can play a big role in dismantling gender stereotypes if we confront bias in ourselves, our programs, and our materials. Who talks? Who is silenced? What does âparticipationâ even mean?#GlobalEdChat
Education plays a huge role in how young people see themselves & their opportunities. When educators model ideas about women that limit their potential, even by calling them âprincesitaâ and saying not to get dirty during recess, we impact girlsâ identity. #globaledchat
4 cops murdered #SaheedVassell in Brooklyn today. Police in this country criminalize our skin color to justify their ceaseless attacks on our community. On a day #MLK50 when we reflect on our history to shape a vision for the future, we are reminded why we refuse to stop fighting
A3: It is our duty as teachers to work at dismantling these expectations and stereotypes through developing a narrative of strong female leaders and show ALL of our students that girls can and will go forward doing great things. #GlobalEdChat
So important for men, esp white men, to be supportive. Do you ever feel like you are not allowed to have a voice in the convo, given your privelege @caranowou? #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
A2 as a white male i have advantages that others unfortunately dont. I often look thru my daughterâs eyes & female colleagues experiences to be an ally to fight & protest for their equality. It sickens me that unless thereâs change my daughter will be a #metoo#globaledchat
A4: Power dynamics in ed most ed systems & political systems. Wealth concentrated mainly jn white males. Principal may be female, but usually super is male. Similar in higher ed, ed tech, etc etc #globaledchat
And what about non-teaching duties like bus duty? Could you imagine if accountants in a firm were required to take turns manning the parking garage? Our time is not respected bc we are seen as caretakers, not professionals #WomenEd#GlobalEdChat
A prof shared that observation with me many years ago, and I feel like I always see adults doing that. Less so with teachers who know better! #globaledchat
A3-When young girls are educated in areas such as STEM they gain confidence and realize that they CAN work in a field that involves science, tech, engineering, or math and they will be just as good as any male who does the same. Their gender will not stop them
#GlobalEdChat
A3: Education plays a significant role in empowering women and giving space to take risks and get out of their comfort zone in a safe space. #GlobalEdChat
A4 - Stereotypes, preconceived notions, and pigeonholing, both by society and by themselves. I was just talking to my wife and she said, "Often I want kids in my science class to be quiet because this is so cool, I want all students to learn it." #globaledchat
A4 - Con't She said that because she wants her female students and her male students to both feel like they can succeed in science. That is so different from what we grew up with and that needs to go away. #globaledchat
A3: without knowing what paradigms need to be re-imagined, itâs hard to advance forward. Cultivating ethical and empathetic citizens means having #honestdialogue about how others experience the world. #GlobalEdChat#TeachSDGs
A1. Equality is providing same opportunity to all...equity is ensuring that opportunity is equally there for everyone to benefit from ... #Globaledchat
Good Q. I commit to being a life-long, global learner, continuously questioning my assumptions and biases, and seeking out advice from women and men of conscience. #globaledchat#SDG5
A2. As previously mentioned, I have a daughter. So, the inequality, misogyny and sexism that is part of the daily American experience is front & center #globaledchat
A:4 there is a glass ceiling women face but for me and I think for many women the ceilings we have made in our own heads block us more. We donât always believe we are worth the position or have all the skills to do the âperfectâ job. #globaledchat
A3: As educators we play a massive role in dismantling negative expectations for girls. The language we use every day, the classroom communities we build, the resources we provide & the encouragement we give these girls can truly alter their futures dreams! #STEM#globaledchat
Yes, it's amazing how teaching, religious instruction, cooking, etc. are a woman's domain as it relates to children, family, but we haven't given same authority/credibility/space in these pro arenas. Aaarrrgggh. #TeachSDGs#globaledchat
A2 Gender inequality is present in many aspects of mine and my studentsâ lives. One example is the lack of male educators in the school system. It has been perceived as a âwomanâsâ job in our society for so long that underepresentation of men gives an unfair picture #globaledchat
A3.2 We also need to include intersectional feminist narratives and imagery from the earliest grades on up. Whose pictures are on our walls? Whose books and histories do we read?
#GlobalEdChat
A3. Of course, education will make a person open minded and self driven , but also global interactions lead to the spirit of Inquiry and then CHANGE #Globaledchat
Q5: Can you share ideas that youâve used with your students to break down gender stereotypes? What resources exist for teaching this topic? #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
A4: Stereotypes about women & positions they hold in society have been absorbed by women for ages. Years of believing that we are the lesser gender have negatively impacted the confidence women around the world have in themselves to achieve the same things as men. #globaledchat
A3.2 We also need to include intersectional feminist narratives and imagery from the earliest grades on up. Whose pictures are on our walls? Whose books and histories do we read?
#GlobalEdChat
A3: Education has the potential to increase female achievement and make greater gains into subject areas they are minorities within such as #stem subjects. #globaledchat#TeachSDGs#WomenEd
A5 - Discussing what a stereotype is can get some change right off the bat. I teach a unit on logical fallacies in my 9th grade English class and just seeing their faces when I explain that this is an example of how not to think, get them on the right track. #globaledchat
Yes yes yes! Global interactions are essential. Seeing the other human (as @mbfxc and @digcitinstitute say) is essential to be able to cultivate our collective goodness. #GlobalEdChat#TeachSDGs
I wonder what you think about paying women for child-rearing, housekeeping, etc. (or whichever parent does this work). Would it help validate the work required, esp for single parents or stay-at-home parents? #globaledchat#TeachSDGs

A5: In my Teacher Education program, we have learned many strategies for disrupting stereotypes in the classroom. Utilizing language that is accommodating to all genders and showing successful people of all genders in all positions are two that are very important #globaledchat
A5 I teach English, so we intentionally choose books with characters who defy and actively confront gender stereotypes. Two great ones in our curriculum: Same Sun Here by @silasdhouse & Neela Vaswani, and Akata Witch by @Nnedi. #GlobalEdChat
A5 I love iEARN's Girl Rising Project, an international film and book club. Ss around the world watch Girl Rising & read I am Malala, then collaborate to create action steps.
https://t.co/lrGTaGmHcs#globaledchat
We explored connection to "Lord of the Flies," looked at early psychological research on boys' and girls' moral development by L Kohlberg and C Gilligan, looked at brain research on gender, and mounted arguments about what might have occurred differently w/girls. #globaledchat
Q5: Can you share ideas that youâve used with your students to break down gender stereotypes? What resources exist for teaching this topic? #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
I love to bring up a satellite pic of a house I re-sided by myself. Personal experiences seem to have the biggest impact. I'm not a rocket scientist but... #GlobalEdChat
A5: I have some great activites from teaching AP psych. The psychology of gender is fascinating for many Ss. Ex: the idea that colors are gendered... I also have my Ss do Project Implicit out of Harvard & reflect on the results #globaledchat
As a single parent, I do it all myself #globaledchat#TeachSDGs However child-rearing, housekeeping, etc. are work, people need to be compensated for the work they do. If they don't it encourages #stereotypes
A5 I also really love this Norwegian ad that went viral a while ago. Kids doing equal amount of work, but then getting unequal amount of candy reward. Such a practical, lived way to illustrate a complex problem.
https://t.co/H2uKl0rfKJ#globaledchat
A5. #TeachSDGs#Globaledchat the fact that the boys are taught to be superior, laid back ,that they will be stronger , they can go out and night and women mustn't are intrinsically imbibed in our society...these are the everyday challenges I face.i counsel Ss every day on these
Q5: Can you share ideas that youâve used with your students to break down gender stereotypes? What resources exist for teaching this topic? #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
A:3 there certainly has been an increased push to get more females into STEM/STEAM tracks. This is reassuring and necessary. Still male dominated fields tho. #globaledchat
A4: Obstacles that prevent the advancement of #genderequality - the narrative that women are "bossy", the lack of representation of women in STEM fields, the idea that women can't achieve as much success etc. It is the 21st century, let's make a change! #globaledchat
Sounds interesting. I remember in 9th grade, I challenged a lot about "Lord of the Flies" in an essay for English, and as I recall my teacher was impressed. Not sure if I took a gender angle... #GlobalEdChat
I love this! I work in the afterschool sector. There are many programs just for girls, like the ones you mentioned, popping up. #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
Sadly, ladies, my (all female) students consistently came to the conclusion that girls would have been just as bad at surviving on the island but for totally different reasons. #globaledchat
Agreed! This can also help students understand bias based on race, money, location, etc. It can lead to some great discussions about bias in general. #globaledchat
A5: An example of this in my classroom is in a biography unit my students recently finished. Our mentor texts were intentionally chosen to show successful women making gains in fields and positions they aren't societally expected to succeed in or be a part of #GlobalEdChat
One of my best friends is a neuroscientist! Another is a physicist for Sandia. And another is an editor. Iâve been so lucky to always have felt that the world is open to us as females. Shout out to #Louisiana for cultivating talent. #LaEdChat#GlobalEdChat#TeachSDGs
Only some of my students went for that focus, but it was fascinating when they did. I loved teaching that book; it was such an incredible way to help young people recognize and fix elements of their own small societies through an explanation of our worst tendencies #globaledchat
A3: Through equitable teaching and opportunities in education, we empower our female students to rise above the narrative of negative expectations for girls #globaledchat
Ugh - yes! And the "mansplaining." In the workplace this can mean that men get attention for the things that female colleagues or supervisees are doing or for repeating an idea a woman has said. I've experienced that also. #TeachSDGs#globaledchat
A:2 I am far more aware what women experience at work. I do believe women are asked to do tasks that have been deemed stereotypically female such as take minutes at meetings when male colleagues would not be asked #GlobalEdChat
Sadly, this topic has now come across my threads from 3 different sources this week. Been talking a lot about #Pygmalion in the classroom and Stereotype Threat. We have to do better. #globaledchat
Until the accepted view of "masculinity" includes parenting, nurturing, etc & rejects domination, power, etc, it will be a continuing battle. E.g, our culture celebrates violent sports like football. We all need to change the culture in our daily actions #globaledchat
And parents. We can be a check on one another, on behalf of our girls. That's not pointing fingers; we're all working to dismantle what society and the system have established. #GlobalEdChat
A3: As educators we play a massive role in dismantling negative expectations for girls. The language we use every day, the classroom communities we build, the resources we provide & the encouragement we give these girls can truly alter their futures dreams! #STEM#globaledchat
Intentional is such a key word. I think that is @m_drezâs #oneword2018. Itâs essential to have a plan but always be open to listening to the Universe, too, for inspiration. #GlobalEdChat#TeachSDGs
A:6 we hear that if we educate girls particularly in under developed countries we educate the world because the girls stay and share their learning. Women in leadership is similar. Collectively we raise people up. #Globaledchat
I believe my premise was that human beings, particularly children, would not fall into that. I still believe that about kids. I'm not so sure about the grownups. #GlobalEdChat
A4: Stereotypes about women & positions they hold in society have been absorbed by women for ages. Years of believing that we are the lesser gender have negatively impacted the confidence women around the world have in themselves to achieve the same things as men. #globaledchat
A3: through equitable teaching and opportunities that we create for our female students, we empower them to rise above the narrative of negative expectations for girls #globaledchat
A6: New perspectives. New ideas. New focus and understanding. Leadership should be representative of those that are being represented. I just had a conversation about this with a student about Congress. #GlobalEdChat
It was perfect timing when around the tragedy of 9/11 I happen to be teaching a lesson on stereotyping scientists, I was quickly able to adapt that to religious and cultural stereotyping...#GlobalEdChat#TeachSDGs
A6 modeling, mentoring, and representation are great ways to create change. More women in edleadership positions can make this happen. We should elevate and uplift....we must provide our students equitable and equal learning and leadership opportunities #globaledchat#WomenEd
A5: I have seen awesome after-school clubs & summer programs in schools that are in place specifically for encouraging girls to learning coding - @GirlsWhoCode. As teachers we can encourage this & even bring it into our own classroom in similar ways! #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
Agreed. When I started teaching I often referred to all my students as "guys," then tried to shift to "ladies and gentlemen," but now will be trying to use "folks" as non gender-binary form of address. #globaledchat
A6: Increased women's leadership in education will hopefully develop the disruption of gender stereotypes at school that kids see and hear about in the world every day--showing women as successful leaders teaches girls that you can do & be who/whatever you want :) #globaledchat
We canât ignore structural and systemic inequity. Throwing resources at something without truly addressing the problem will never solve it. #globaledchat
I agree. We need more perspectives, new ideas and most of all we need to listen to each other and not just wait to talk or take credit for the ideas. #globaledchat
YES!!! And, let's stop with the marketing of toys for specific genders. My 6yo nephew doesn't like pink b/c he thinks it's for girls. It's in the atmosphere; we pick it up. Time to change the cues in marketing, toys, clothes, chores, etc. #TeachSDGs#globaledchat
A6: Seeing a woman in the role of leadership sets an example for all students (both boys and girls) that women are more than capable of being leaders too! #GlobalEdChat
A7: Something I'm trying to work on is avoiding language such as "guys" or "boys and girls" and using more gender neutral terms such as "friends" or "writers" or "scientists" or "geniuses" etc. which heightens all of them in the same way, regardless of gender! #globaledchat
It's tricky to break down cultural norms when I'm the foreigner here. I try to navigate a healthy balance between lightly questioning norms that are only marginally problematic (pet names) and challenging those that matter more (unwanted touching of girls by peers). #globaledchat
And really think about who is in the room and who is not. Why are certain voices being amplified? When you are in a meeting really look around and see who is missing at the table and ask why. #globaledchat
A6: As a teacher, I lead by example. Women in leadership positions in education (or any field) set an example for young girls - they show them that it is possible to achieve this success. Seeing someone in these positions they can relate to is key. #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
Hmm. W/ white male privilege, I don't think it's that I'm sometimes not allowed in the convo. It's more that I think there's defnitely times a female voice is much more important, insightful & valuable than mine in the convo & I need to be quiet & listen #globaledchat
A7 - Not tolerate bias when we see it. I speak to students who do not treat all genders with respect. Sometimes it is a simple, "That is not cool." to sometimes I have a large discussion. Once I gave an entire group of boys a lecture on misogyny. #globaledchat
I love it! Share personal stories of how gender roles & stereotypes have been combated. This shows that it can be done & gives credibility when it comes from real people in Ss lives & not someone "exceptional" over there. #globaledchat#TeachSDGs
I love to bring up a satellite pic of a house I re-sided by myself. Personal experiences seem to have the biggest impact. I'm not a rocket scientist but... #GlobalEdChat
A7: We need to think consciously about the ways we speak to our female students so we don't perpetuate gender stereotypes! Positively acknowledging what the girls in our classroom are doing and saying. Talking about who they are rather than what they are wearing. #GlobalEdChat
This particular one is so hard! because 1) T usually has some gender bias and calls on girls more frequently and 2) many boys are raised to blurt (confidence) or speak out. #GlobalEdChat
A7 - Not tolerate bias when we see it. I speak to students who do not treat all genders with respect. Sometimes it is a simple, "That is not cool." to sometimes I have a large discussion. Once I gave an entire group of boys a lecture on misogyny. #globaledchat
A7. One of the paradoxes of Twitter is that it can be a cesspool & brutal to women, but also empower thru chats like #SDG5#globaledchat & #Metoo. Important to model to (& learn from) students how to use it to #Bethechange
A7 disrupt the current narrative. Resist the stereotypes.
Use language that empowers self and others âI am, I will, yet, scholars.â
Iâm mindful of the way Iâm perceived by my students, especially female students. They are watching and listening! #Globaledchat#womenEd
Constant opp to see things from multiple perspectives when you work in an org/school dominated by folks who don't look, sound like you. This is what most women and people of color have to deal with when breaking into fields. What have you learned so far? #TeachSDGs#globaledchat
'As the thousands of children come through our doors to learn, the subliminal lesson is there â women are teachers and men are leaders' @keziah70https://t.co/udYlc7wul8
Oh, ok, I need to check myself! I do call them future CEOs and young professionals, but I do say âladies and gentlemen.â Good to think about. Thank you! #GlobalEdChat#TeachSDGs
A:7 a very small thing I have been trying to do when I am working with kids is avoiding using âmy dearâ with girls and âbuddyâ with the boys. Sadly I am not always successful but the language we use is crucial. #globaledchat
Sadly, ladies, my (all female) students consistently came to the conclusion that girls would have been just as bad at surviving on the island but for totally different reasons. #globaledchat
