My school is 37% ESOL. We have special programs and classes for them and a process to integrate them into our larger community. Im proud of the work we do for them. #bfc530

We celebrate Black History Month, everyday there are stories shared and history told of the struggles and successes throughout black history, in every school :) #bfc530
#bfc530 There are many Black History celebrations throughout the district but I haven’t heard of any specific to Black Lives Matter. As District support for Library Media I encourage the promotion of diverse books with characters that look like the students.

We are working on a performance for this month. After evaluating the collection in the media center, I am adding more books that reflect our population. Just set them out yesterday. Hoping the kids will like seeing characters like them. Still needs work though. #bfc530
I agree. It's always bothered me when certain populations are only acknowledged during certain times. Inclusivity needs to be year round, 24-7. #bfc530

Indeed. That's my approach at least...in my Advisory to build on honest and open conversations about how policies and actions can and have disadvantaged some of our students. The school to prison pipeline is real. #bfc530

Yes I know! You can do a BSc in it at Charles Sturt and I think Adelaide Uni. The Hunter Valley TAFE offer a Diploma in it. Like a lot of VET courses, it really opens up opportunities. #bfc530https://t.co/FnGHwCkoj4
#bfc530 good morning! My school is amazing. I just retweeted our Student Council’s plan for the week and our admin puts together a celebration with spoken word, symphony, singing, gospel, art, etc...for the community. In the classroom, we do as we see fit.
