Q1- My what is to do everything I can to support teachers and students in their path success. My how is the resources and events and programs that I provide to do that. #MOedchat
A1. What - Coach students and teachers on appropriate social/academic behaviors.
How - Teaching, modeling, reinforcing, and providing interventions when needed.
#moedchat
A1: “How”: Relationships “What”: Encouraging others to tap into their strengths & push themselves. Great things can happen when someone believes in you! #MOedchat

R1: My “what” is to create an environment that Ss can find success and have success. My “why” is because if I don’t help out my students, who will? #moedchat
A1 my what is encouraging reading by talking about books and getting teachers to post about books. My way is to spark a passion for reading in my school #MOedchat
A1 what:trying to engage as many as I can in lifelong healthy habits. How: is trying to find activities they are interested in learning about. #MOedchat
So powerful. I felt like I had a calling to be a teacher. I could make connections with Ss and make learning fun. I also wanted to "pay it forward" #moedchat
A1: my what is to lead and learn to ensure we provide the best experiences for students. How...by hopefully creating a culture that is great for student and staff. #MOedchat

A1) I will never understand anyone that doesn't give their absolute best each day. You sleep 8 hours a day... so use the other 16 to Rockstar it!
#MOEDCHAT
A1: my what is striving to create and engaging and encouraging learning environment for my students; my how is by using available resources to promote collaboration, creation, critical thinking, and communication inside and outside of the classroom #MOEdChat
I had a student come to my class today and obviously was upset. I pulled the student aside and asked what was up. Long story and too many details, but the S said, “I know I can come here because you listen to us”. Did not know this kid 4 wks ago... why I do this. #MOedchat
A1: What - Serve every day to “set the table” for learning to happen for our students every day. How - Serve together with a team of all star teachers. #MOedchat
I have several out due to injuries and they feel comfortable telling me how they're progressing and don't want to let me down by not turning in the work the same day as everyone else. #whyIteach#moedchat

A1- My WHAT is to do everything I can to foster my students learning, support their needs and help them on their path to success. My HOW is the love and passion I have, the resources at my disposal and amazing mentors I have in my corner. #MOedchat
A2: the “why” is the driving force behind the “what” and the “how.” Without the “why” we’re just going through the motions, and our students can see that. “What” and “how” without a strong “why” is like a deflated balloon - it’s there but not serving its purpose! #moedchat
R2: I’m not sure that my “why” and “what” have priority over one another. The “how” is having empathy, teaching life long skills like #4Cs, creating relationships, networking with community. #moedchat
A2 I feel like knowing WHY I’m there each day motivates me to do my best and be my best for my students to bring out the best in them. I want it to be obvious to them why I’m there! #MOedchat
A2)
The "why" is what makes us think about the 7 kids (and 5 teachers) we need to personally thank tomorrow for making us better by expecting more of us. For making the school better by making me better. Ain't no status quo. #moedchat
A2 starting with the why: the students reading helps me to remember that they are like sponges to absorb the what and how. Just have to make sure that the what and how is worth soaking up. #MOedchat
I did the “outside of school” job for two years early in my career. Although I was dealing with HS athletic injuries, I missed the classroom interactions. #MOEdchat
A2 I've learned it helps me be more focused and passionate about what I do. Sometimes the droning on and on about signing out of Chromebooks kills me, but in the end they learn good practice #MOedchat
A2: Because "why" I do what I do drives my motivation every day. Why do I teach? To make the world a better place one student at a time. To ensure students learn beyond the curriculum. #moedchat
A2: My WHY keeps me focused on what matters most-those sweet (mostly) smiling faces in my classroom. They are WHY I commute 106.8 miles everyday!! They keep me striving to be better each and every day! #MOEdChat
A2: My "why" makes me so mindful of every single interaction I have with students. They watch and learn from everything I do. It is my sole purpose to remain calm, not join in the chaos. #moedchat
Haha I hear that...but I gotta get those 8 hours in when I can to make up for the 3 and 4 hours.... I was so much more energetic in college. 9 years later... I can barely make it to this 9:00 chat #moedchat
A3: My why: because I am able to see students "get it" I am the one that fills them up with knowledge not just from a textbook that they can use immediately. #moedchat
A3: When I was in high school people would ask me what I wanted to do with my life. Not truly knowing, I said I wanted to “change the world.” Education allows us to serve others and do our part in changing the world. That’s my “Why”. #MOEdChat
A3- My why is help students be the best version of themselves that they can be and to nurture curiosity, creativity, problem solving and a love for life-long learning! #MOedchat
A3- I believe a school is the most important building we have in our communities. As educators, we have a direct effect on making our community a better place by being a positive influence for kids. #MOEDCHAT
A2 I've learned it helps me be more focused and passionate about what I do. Sometimes the droning on and on about signing out of Chromebooks kills me, but in the end they learn good practice #MOedchat
A3: MY WHY- igniting the fire in my students to become not only productive but prominent members in our communites who will shape our future for the better! 🔥 🌏👫❤️ #moedchat
A2 my why allows me to be better prepared to teach for rainy days, hot days, 108kids in the gym with 3 Ts day, the I’m using the gym for a meeeting day, the I forgot my shoes, and just life days #MOEdChat
A2: Because "why" I do what I do drives my motivation every day. Why do I teach? To make the world a better place one student at a time. To ensure students learn beyond the curriculum. #moedchat
A2: Love the book by @simonsinek! I was an instructional coach when I read it and realized the job wasn’t matching my “why”. It affected what I do and my role in Ed. #moedchat
A2: My WHY keeps me focused on what matters most-those sweet (mostly) smiling faces in my classroom. They are WHY I commute 106.8 miles everyday!! They keep me striving to be better each and every day! #MOEdChat
A3: My why is to make learning fun yet challenging by finding your passion. I share it with my Ss and Ps in a postcard before the year starts. #moedchat
If we change the life of one student for the positive, what we are doing is worth everything. The crazy thing is that we change many students lives for the better EVERY DAY! #MOedchat
A2: Because "why" I do what I do drives my motivation every day. Why do I teach? To make the world a better place one student at a time. To ensure students learn beyond the curriculum. #moedchat
A4 Yes! Let everyone know why you are there, maybe it can help them determine why they are there too. It also might let them know why you do the weird little things that you do! #MOEDCHAT
A4. I’ve tried to share book titles with teachers for the past few years to ignite their passion to read. Book challenges. Book bingos. Book trailers. Read books and share titles trying to find the right book for the right kid means I have to read every day! #MOEDCHAT
R4: ABSOLUTLY. If we don’t share our story, someone else with second hand, third hand, etc will tell the story. It won’t be OUR story and might tell a story that is incorrect. Get your message out there. #ShareThePositives#moedchat
A4 - For me it is. It is my "primary drive" (to borrow from Westworld) . . helps me make sense of everything I do. "Is this best for kids?" Not best for me, or more convenient, or easier, or popular . . is it best for kids? #moedchat
Alycen!! For 3 years in the 90's I commuted 45 minutes each way -- 60 miles roundtrip. 60 is nowhere close to 106.8! Bless you and safe travels each day. #moedchat
I'm working on a solution... a clamping 3D print so they can't pull them out... Either that or a device that provides a small yet annoying shock when you pull too far #toomuch? #MOEDCHAT
A5: They see my passion in how I approach my lessons. They hear me in the halls. They see me talk to Ss. They value my input on committees and overall involvement in my building. #moedchat
a5 I hold family meetings before school begins to explain how HS math is a gateway and how we can work together to improve college success rates. #moedchat
A5: I remind my students everyday during #morningmeeting that they are LOVED and that I wish for them to be successful. I constantly tweet and post all sorts of brags in social media too! #moedchat
A5. I think I have to work on sharing the why. Not sure I’ve done a good job about that. Bc it’s not just about test scores and that’s the only why the teachers have heard #moedchat
A5: Our district tech committee members are always thinking about purposes/goals for themselves, their colleagues, their students, and our committee. Keeps us focused and driven. #moedchat
A5: You can’t just stand on a soapbox shouting your “Why” for anyone who walks by... you have to live it first and thorough building relationships you can begin to articulate it. #MOedchat
A5 - I hope my attitude & actions reflect & model my WHY to my library patrons every day. For my colleagues, as Future Ready Project Manager for my district, I challenged them all on day 1 to find their why so that their what would have more impact. #MOedchat
A5: Build the family, stand for the family for S's to T's to Parents. We're in this together. Trying to build the family in my new building. We may end in May but we're still fam. #moedchat
Love it!!!! Making yourself better is easy, it's instilling that in others, especially kids, that's hard to do... bring on the #moedchatchallenge#moedchat
A5 - I lead by example with the attitude/actions I bring to school to everyday. Our PBIS team provides as much meaningful PD as we can find time for. And we are telling our story on social media. I am personally sharing one positive school tweet a day! #moedchat
A5 I support my students in conversations with colleagues. Dig a little deeper, folks. Don't react to the behavior. Look for the student's "why". Build community. #moedchat
A6- I feel my why has changed after key events in my life whether it’s a professional move or the births of my boys. Priorities change when life comes at you. #MOEDCHAT
A6. If my why is getting students and adults to read continually then I have to say no. My Why will always have to be the gentle nudge to always read one more book #moedchat
A6 - I’ve been a librarian for 16 years, and while some of my why has changed as the library has changed, the central heart of why I’m there will never change - I’m there for the kids!I’ve always wanted to inspire passion for learning! #MOedchat
A6 - As my career has evolved, so has my "why. Used to be about helping students access my math curriculum and use the skills they learned for a successful life. Now my focus is broader. #moedchat
