Matthew in Illinois HS math flipping 6 years, apparently on today's short holiday i spend time wondering if the wind chill tonight will get us out of school tommorrow. #flipclass
A1: Moving my class to a flipped environment. Using standards based grading. Allow retakes to show that there is no deadline in learning. #learnlap#flipclass#flippedlearning. #SBG
I have indeed been to #ilfabcon. and will be attending June 20,21 in Huntley IL. Call for Proposals is open now. (shameless co-founder self promotion)....remember the #flipclass

A1: I really look to Ss for feedback...@GetKahoot@goformative to check for understanding and then asking Ss what what should I Stop Doing, Start Doing & Cont. Doing #flipclass
Powerpoints done, ready to video. Working through example problems so I can screen cast them. Been a while since I've done calculus. Going for done, not perfection. #flipclass
A1 #flipclass on a daily basis I use student reaction and key conversations for in class evaluation of progress and tools like #edpuzzle et. al. for tracking independent work.
Ooops... yes every monday but we took a couple weeks off for the holiday. if you cant join tonigh I would still love your input to help us be better #flipclasshttps://t.co/WjrJuxm27T
A2 Ss feeling successful is a little less measurable than checking student learning. I feel better with formative assessments for really knowing. Both are important to the learning environment. #flipclass
one thing #flipclass has challenged me to do is try and be reflective and examine my methods to see if I am really accomplishing or measuring what I intend.
A2: By having the Ss do more of the work in class I feel like I have a better idea of their understanding level of the material. I can work more closely with those that don't seem to be "getting it" as much #flipclass
Noise....lots and lots of noise - productive noise. Love when other Ts come and check on my room...just listen to what they are talking about is my response #flipclass
#flipclass "Good Noise" is a great indicator. I found myself in my lower level math class moving a smaller group of students from one S produced board example to the next and discuss/arguing about methods...IN LOWER LEVEL!! WIN
So this is first year doing 100% Standards based. Do get some push back but my biggest thing I like is that it is hard to get an A and equally hard to fail my class #flipclass

A3: Sometimes I am just looking for authentic feedback "That lesson was fun". I think another indicator has to be how well they retain the learning objective. #flipclass
A3 Measuring successful learning in a group situation has been a struggle for me. Ask again tomorrow after I try one more thing along with the assignment. https://t.co/1Q3tcK3wIi#flipclass

Thanks! It's a combo of a couple methods for team based learning. There's some math that creates a multiplier for part of the grade on the activity. Could create some honest responses. #flipclass
#flipclass okay so I am using my special moderator powers to skip Q4 as we have already addressed it. and moved to Q5 to use my new matching Q5 graphic i made today
#flipclass is this your own initiative or also part of dist eval process? regardless it looks simple, clear, and easy to communicate progress for both T and S
A5 I haven't done it yet this year but every other flip year I have done a S1 and S2 student survey for their input (and just as often to spark private conversations) to have them check my progress. #flipclass
A5 - I also look for the 4-C's of Flipped Learning in my classroom...Creativity, Collaboration, Choice, and Character #flipclasshttps://t.co/5igC0uaive
A 5 My current baseline for this college course is there's no way I'm going to be the craziest college instructor these Ss will have. I'm hoping for some immediate feedback, after day 1 still have a class. :) #flipclass
@CliffGoodacre just took a peek at your blog, will have to read the full text later. do you post your blogs anywhere else (@flippedlearning network for example)? #flipclass
I did a pilot developmental math at the community college last semester (been there 12-13 years at night...T not S) and had 5 on the roster and 4 started the class..not a lot of room for casualties. #flipclass

We need to remember most Coll. Ss learned via traditional learning...it's a learning curve for them as much as it is for us...Patience is key #flipclass
BTW @CliffGoodacre since we don't have a big group tonight and two #ILfabCon founders on the thread. how did you hear about ILFABN? did you go last year? #flipclass
this was a concurrent 091 098 course in a single room with both courses flipped. I was the guy with the plates on sticks and thankful there were only 4 Ss. #flipclass
