Oh my gosh - haven't had a Cheerio in years-now I'm craving one-LOL!
I'm with you. More disruptive.
My favorite sign of the changing season, for sure. Good morning from KY! https://t.co/MYYzGD0tw5
Hi All! Missy from CT. Love waking up and hearing birds chirping...spring is REALLY here :)
Good morning! Cathy Koos from Melbourne, Florida!
Hello Carl here
Rain has set in hard here in Emerald, Australia
hi Missy... we are heading into Autumn in NZ.. rather be heading into Spring!
In today's day & age being a onesie is a bit easier-We have & other SM to connect us w/ others teaching the same material
Good morning friends Eric in Nj chiming in
Definitely. I find so many ideas here.
Good morning! Looking forward to a great day of learning!
You're the only one in your building/district in a particular subject ex) Only Science T in building/school
We were lucky - didn't have to cancel because my tech admin unlocked the test the day before. *whew*
Thanks Connie https://t.co/xXhYay8kMP
You're the only one in your building/district in a particular subject ex) Only Science T in building/school
good morning Chris... evening in my case!
Hi there, Miriam in DC/VA. Elem vocal music 🎶
Uh oh... trouble with the system ehh?
https://t.co/yAcsBAHkj1
Morning all. Michael from NJ hoping we don't have to cancel for a second day
Isnt that the name for the outfit superheroes wear? One piece?
I had the same thought. I think it is no one else teaches the same course.
good morning from va-Jour de la terre Earthday w my kiddos today
~ although the beginning after Fall in New England is also a favorite of mine! It's mid-winter that I don't love.
Good morning, 4th grade teacher from CA
I'm in that boat. I collaborate through twitter a lot.
Collaborate beyond your content! Cross curricular PLCs or learning walks in other subjects or levels generate excellent ideas!
Not sure I've got this, but collaboration with Twitter (us) and maybe the millions of other resources on the web
good morning! Susan from the Jersey Shore. Honoring a student tonight or being an "Unsung Hero" . Looking forward to it!
Of course in the US there is another meaning: a onesie is also a one piece baby undershirt - LOL!
Agree. So happy our fabulous art teacher, connects with others on Twitter! https://t.co/T7GrLQG4AC
In today's day & age being a onesie is a bit easier-We have & other SM to connect us w/ others teaching the same material
That'd be a good way to approach it. Ideally there'd be some district level support. Meet across schools https://t.co/oyel7SD3fa
I'm in that boat. I collaborate through twitter a lot.
Good morning . Stacey from NJ. My head is swimming this morning. Looking forward to a few moments of focus w friends.
Awesome! Congratulate the S from
Yay! So happy for you guys. We have had summer like temps lately. It's crazy. #
Try May in teh Dandenongs here. The smell of falling eucalyptus. heaven
Ok, didn't know what a onesie was either! 😉
Even if you are the only Ts in an area , still stuff to share about school culture, and tools and techniques. Can't be in a vacuum
Babies wear onesies - the outfit with the little snaps in their crotch that are impossible to fasten!
ooohhh lovely... I am an ex-Aussie myself...love that smell:)
Also rely heavily on subject associations and what support they provide
Good morning fro Virginia Beach!
Not as ideal as having someone right by your side 2 collaborate w/but amazing relationships can still develop!
You can still collaborate across content areas. There are common areas of overlap. Can learn from each other.
Activities..being S-centered. Always something to share.
It looks like conversations w other Ts to align work to other standards- an opp to develop relevancy. https://t.co/NwC2Kq0eIh
And the filtered light. I love May
Twitter has been the door to limitless collaborative possibilities for me and my Ss.
only French T in my school but collab w others in district by sharing curriculum and ideas via email or texting
This is the first year in 14 yrs I am a twosie instead of a onesie, it's great!
Good strategy! https://t.co/J6I0JH6TXn
only French T in my school but collab w others in district by sharing curriculum and ideas via email or texting
Hehe. Onesie Twosie Threesie wheeee https://t.co/1Kjk3qjil7
This is the first year in 14 yrs I am a twosie instead of a onesie, it's great!
my entire middle school is a "onesie" - one of each of the subject areas because we are tiny. Less than 100 kids in 7th and 8th.
Have you been able to hook up w/ other French T's on twitter yet Cammie?
. where you start, then move the conversation to . Such an easy way to connect and collaborate.
Rain is good. Hope it's not too much.
hi Miriam... how are you finding it?
exactly, cant isolate yourself, how else do we grow ? https://t.co/tq4ns9xQxC
Activities..being S-centered. Always something to share.
Even onesie Ts share Ss. Important to communicate abt them. Whole child.
How fortunate today's onesie in contrast to 10-20 years ago!!!
Good morning . Elisa from Quito signing in
You do have to determine the curriculum and then make sure you are doing it right. I was audited last year. Passed but scary
Still makes sense, though. Some superheroes are such babies. ^_^
. is where you start, then move the conversation to . Such an easy way to connect and collaborate.
I'm guessing onesie means you're the only one in your department?
yes collaboration doesn't only have to be in your own school or district
Sure it will pass. Just very wet on roads tonight.
I've always found that the hallways seem to work for me when trying to connect with other Ts
Exactly, Craig! Many of my units are based on collaboration with Social Studies, a natural match for ELA. https://t.co/7OZhMrsaGT
You can still collaborate across content areas. There are common areas of overlap. Can learn from each other.
Copy machine. Coffee machine. Any opportunity.
Morning everyone....decided to pop in. Shana from metro Atlanta.
Think it's impt. for those of us already doing this to share it w/ any onesie's we know-prevent isolation! https://t.co/lwqjM2YS8A
. is where you start, then move the conversation to . Such an easy way to connect and collaborate.
It is weird...but I collaborate more with people outside my school than within...
Need to help Ts learn HOW to collaborate.
Agreed, it's wonderful to get insight into Ss as individuals by seeing how they do in other subjects https://t.co/v7L3xtZc01
Collaborate beyond your content! Cross curricular PLCs or learning walks in other subjects or levels generate excellent ideas!
or your school, i.e. ELL, world language. In smaller schools it's hard.
yes can almost be a combined course
Or Friday Eve as my friend has called it:)
Good morning . Running a bit late. Whats r ? this AM?
Makes me think of when my son (now 23) was little....... I could almost get a bit weepy-but... good memories!
Today's : What does teacher collaboration look like if you teach a "onesie?" -
I won't tell Superman you just said that... https://t.co/oeMmleJhq2
Still makes sense, though. Some superheroes are such babies. ^_^
Morning! We provide release time w sub so the singleton can visit another school to meet together as a https://t.co/9PoNBu2jwC
has provided opportunities for wonderful literacy focused collaboration among NZ teachers/classes:)
Hope it was/is a beautiful day in your neighborhood:)
We only have 1 ID classroom so our T has monthly collaboration with other teachers from the district with similar students.
right, getting to know folks surely helps collab
We have "department" meetings w/ area schools in our conference. Lots of online resources incl Twitter & great webinars.
It's amazing, what a great resource
Good morning! I hope you have a terrific day!
You'd be shocked with all the different flavors of cheerios now... https://t.co/m1U3tv3wVY
Makes me think of when my son (now 23) was little....... I could almost get a bit weepy-but... good memories!
We try to pair our onesies w/Ts from other schools who teach the same subject. Try and get them some time together to collar
thanks Ellen ... it was a stunner.. blue sky and sun shining...although getting cooler in the AM
Miss you this morning. Great chat last night.
Good morning. Joe from NC, 1st post here. Collaboration is crucial, whether the Ts are from the same subject or not.
Love Twitter because every teacher can find someone teaching in a similar area even if they are across the country or world!
What? Flavored Cheerios? Isn't that a sin??????
I had this idea to send video messages from Ss thru Skype to countries with big time difference. Still smiling from result
that would be A-MAZ-ING ... and too...my goal!
I think it's key to get off your island and finding your tribe. Being a onesie is hard but collab is even more vital for your growth
Sorry! Swamped this morning! Thanks! We had a great time!
Best practices can be shared across all content area teachers.
No sorry. Have a great day.
agree! I found my tribe on Twitter:) was my very first collaborative community:)
I must say as scary as it was being audited made sure I was well prepared and had thought things out
The language we use with students defines their perspectives on education... And sometime themselves https://t.co/6r5ZktMTH8
Yes!!! Jessica will be at too!!! !!
same here ~ 200 students in grades 6-8
Plus especially if we are teaching the same students... Think cross curricular units! Co-plan them. https://t.co/CIaXUs24OO
Best practices can be shared across all content area teachers.
Not knocking Twitter, but also in a FB group for music Ts interested in a specific vocal method. Diff platform, more room to write
hopefully I am not too grey and old when this can happen!
I was once teh only Maths teacher in a school
Don't. Else he will snap a nerve and get grumpy. 😝 He is so touchy these days after watching all those DC movies.
I make a point to do more F2F than email responses. Be in the hall during class changes. I'm an introvert and onesie so it's hard
You're killing me Craig! Also laughing alot right now-usually end up w/ lots of tabs open after but never a Cheerios Tab!
Best collaborator I taught w was Spanish teacher; could collaborate/incorporate stds w the best of them! https://t.co/3Le0wqwtlK
Best practices can be shared across all content area teachers.
welcome Joel, hope to see you more !!
There is always room for more Pons https://t.co/wls1zR81Xq
Not knocking Twitter, but also in a FB group for music Ts interested in a specific vocal method. Diff platform, more room to write
hey Craig!!! Hope you are well!
Such an important way to recognize, value & support those who 'fly solo'..can be a lonely existence!
Have a great day, Friends! Today is the 1st day of the 4th marking period for me. Wow!
It's funny-I don't usually connect w/T's on twitter about my subject area-more general collaboration,resources,sharing
Have a fabulous day everyone!
Yes! Did a collab with art last year, they made "sound suits" in art and choreographed in my room. Ss loved it so much
You are beautiful inside & out Kerri - no amount of grey hair could change that!
There is always room for more PLNs https://t.co/wls1zR81Xq
Not knocking Twitter, but also in a FB group for music Ts interested in a specific vocal method. Diff platform, more room to write
for sure, every day a new day new possibilities ! Enjoy ! https://t.co/48X75mjRzj
So thankful for surprises like this. Hope you guys have a great day. Remember today's a NEW Day too
Thanks. Sometimes I'm lost understanding public school terms.
Since I don't have the art and music Ts in our weekly language arts collab, I need to seek them out to connect. They are amazing!
It's probably easier to get burnt out if a T is isolated. Could see that happening
have a great day Connie...my Thursday was spent in my school library! We are re-vamping!
truly, that's why I spend more time w - a wealth of new perspectives
Have a great day everyone. Math testing school wide today so it will be a busy one, but I will keep positive for the Ts and Ss!
Time for me to jump out friends! Need to hit the rain locker & dream about Cheerios!! Thanks for waking me up this morning friends!
Thanks for a great conversation. It's nice to know we're not alone!
Have a great day everyone. Off to prepare, psychologically speaking, for student led conferences.
Together We're Better!!!!! https://t.co/dAVqwlnxI4
Thanks for a great conversation. It's nice to know we're not alone!
What? Are you kidding me? I'm super excited to hear that. Make sure I'm with you:)
for sure, you can lose perspective in isolation.
yes definitely could happen...I started to feel that way at times...just overwhelming mental/emotional fatigue
I can introduce you to Jessica. We go way back:) to last summer:)
never ever, always have friends !!!
Absolutely! I know I pull energy every day from those I work with!! Love my team!
is going to be a huge twitter reunion! We need to start a list of who is attending!
You won't be. I have a good feeling about this.
When focusing on best practices in general, we're not (or shouldn't) be bound by subject area.Focus on "Why" https://t.co/EzM2gVmF8a
Me me me https://t.co/JOezmUkApd
is going to be a huge twitter reunion! We need to start a list of who is attending!
I agree. is positive and motivating !
As the amazing taught me... :-)
Happy Friday Eve to my favorite Mets fans!
That's right -The man who needs no sleep is going to too!! You have to meet -he also needs no sleep!
Yikes - I really have to run-know I said that before but you all keep drawing me back in - LOL!!! See Ya!
I really admire and appreciate those who 'fly solo' as teachers...it's not easy and some work between/among multiple schools.
it helps to hash it out with someone who has similar job responsibilities so it's a challenge if you're a onesie!
Have an amazing day, BFC!
We were locked out on day 2 of LA testing last week. The kids were thrown off as we tried to work it with Pearson.
We've had issues since Monday :(
My best to all today! Enjoy!
Me too, Ellen. Wait until I send you one more video from another group Still cracking up😂 https://t.co/l2QLNqCh8n
I had this idea to send video messages from Ss thru Skype to countries with big time difference. Still smiling from result
yes I do that via Voxer. I have a small circle I trust. I share, listen, & vent to them often. And pray often too 😀
final thought...I think it is helpful 2 belong to the prof organization associated w/ your discipline /grade level. enjoy the day!
Funny you should mention this - I just joined the International Literacy Association! Anyone else join any? https://t.co/NpwM4O1gH3
final thought...I think it is helpful 2 belong to the prof organization associated w/ your discipline /grade level. enjoy the day!
For myself, I use Twitter & blogs from the to get ideas, build on others' activities, etc. for my "onesie".
In summer school where many Ts have a onesie in their building, I set up course teams at our planning mtg & Gfolders for each team.
there are some great organizations out. gave me my start. Amazing people
Collaboration can happen across time & space thanks to Twitter -teaching does not have to be isolating https://t.co/TEX2rn7m5S
. So very true - and that kind of collaboration helps students connect the dots
Help me out, what's a 'onesie'?
Good Morning! Kathy from CT! I usually attend the earlier but sick day today (dr. appt)
A class where you are the only one of its kind. For example, my onesie was "all boys newspaper journalism".
Hi Kathy.
Wet day here. Do you teach any "onesies"?
I like onesies as I can do things my way
Emily from VA here. New to ! I reach out to teachers at other schools in my division to see what resources they're using
Teacher collaboration is definitely a challenge if you are a onesie. I have to adapt information to suit my own needs.
Hi Emily. I think there is so much talent and resources around, sharing is the best
No I don't think so. We all do things a little different from each other.
Honestly, I find like-minded "onesies" at Twitter chats and we share ideas. I rather enjoy being a onesie at my school.
Good morning Though not a teacher of a onesie, I would recommend find all subject areas that could relate and collaborate.
Ok, wish me luck! 1st field trip today, on a steamboat, thunderstorms forecast all day long...
one of my classes this year is. I share ideas with other Ts on twitter.
haha rain locker. Love it!
How fun. Where's the steamboat?
agreed Carl! Everybody's got some great ideas they love to share around
I got audited for one of my subjects last year. It was scary but made me prepare a good course
good luck! Have a great day everyone
VERY excited to try today in Using docs on etc
I haven't done in a while, but my students really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Great activity! Good luck!
I grew up in a sailing family - shower was always the rain locker!! :-)
Good morning ! I bounce ideas & have ongoing conversation with Ts in school & on Twitter. I reach out & cull info from T websites
You can still collaborate with you Sped T! We love that! Also vertical collab. And collab on Twitter!
Little help w/'onesie,' please... In addition to baby suit, are we talking situation where I'm only teacher of certain offering?
I'm thinking one section of a grade level
Got it, thanks. In local parlance (i.e. my school) that's a 'singleton.' Wouldn't all collab options remain on table?
I would say so, but it's going to look different than a grade level
It is hard to 'jump' into collaboration, but once you get the hang of HOW to collaborate it is awesome!
Variety=spice of collab life? Blend vert/horiz, in subj area & out; learn from both soulmates & 'team of rivals'
I teach at a one-school-school district with t 3 grades-It feels overwhelming when I can't talk to others...
I concur! Unless onesie means one room school house then you are just plain out of luck!
Hi friends! I told my colleague Joe that if he participated in a chat I'd make a push for followers. Thanks! https://t.co/kae9WwGYA3
Good morning. Joe from NC, 1st post here. Collaboration is crucial, whether the Ts are from the same subject or not.
so cool! There's a one room school house on my road! Love rural Wyoming!
I'm thinking that's what it means. You are the only instructor of the course.
