Q1) How do you describe “college readiness?” Are there issues related to *online* learning specifically?

Online readiness of Ss should precede enrollment and may be acquired through experience or dedicated training.

I think the "precede enrollment" piece is critical here.

Is there usually time (or resources) built in between application/acceptance and enrollment, to assess students and prepare?

Throw Ss in and let them sink-or-swim may not be effective or smart for online learning when it can be avoided with preparation.

AP classes may prepare Ss for online experience and Summer Boot Camp may be another venue to prepare for online ed.

Like the summer boot camp idea! Sort of a more detailed, hands-on Orientation, perhaps.

I can also see where added preparation time might be a tough sell, however, for students. Could be time well spent though!

Yes, Summer Boot Camp can be a bridge program with a dedicated training in online education.

There's an focus on academics when we refer to "readiness" usually, but the tech side is so important, too. Expectations!
