You bet!!! Equity is also a cornerstone of our community — keeping geolocation, resources, backgrounds, and so much more at the forefront of our efforts!! #cuechat#WeAreCUE
.@DurrinJoan One idea that I've realised is that it is not just about tools, products or programs, but more about what does it mean for #studentlearning Also, must connect to standards and have learning objective #cuechat#WeAreCUE
Hi @CateTolnai & Jon! Is the submission data on the site live? Noticing the topic of TOSAs/Instructional Coaches is low compared to other topics. Small slice of pie! 🤔 #CUEchat

Q2: For CUE Conference speakers, poor/missing abstracts are one of the main reason folks don’t get a good score - here’s a sample one: Exemplar Abstract https://t.co/p9Ur0LSXj3

I want to present on how adopting a STEAM model has changed our school culture and what it looks like in application on a daily basis (it’s more than just a steam challenge) #Cuechat

A2: The word limits confused me a bit. I wasn't close to the 500 on the draft abstract so I added some research to it. I also added descriptions to the breakdown of the session. I hope its not overly complicated now! #cuechat

That sounds right in the sweet spot! You might consider framing your story in a “lessons learned” format so that attendees get inspired and also fill their tool boxes at the same time!! #cuechat

I did and noticed it wasn't even close to 500 but was wondering why the word limit was so much and if I wasn't explaining myself enough. (my first time submission paranoia I am sure) Hopefully I hit the sweet spot! #cuechat
.@NowaTechie I have the same issue - I now strive for #simplexity Solve complex problems simply...and make it bite sized, so learners get to taste and try it. #cuechat#WeAreCUE
I submitted a panel and it was hard filling in the Demographic info because it just applied to me and as a group we had more depth than just what I have. possibly a branching form for if someone selects "panel" to change the demographic info to be about the group? #CUEchat
.@sarahjteacher I have the same issue...or I write too little and wonder if I should write more... I like the Strunk & Wright advice on writing: "Omit Needless Words" #cuechat#WeAreCUE

Q3: Which topics are most interesting to you? https://t.co/RyT74fV3G4 And: we've added a couple new topics this year: UDL and Student Privacy.
#CUEChat#WeAreCUE
Yes!! Digital for a reason… not to JUST to be digital. If audience, impact, and confidence increases w a digital component, then it’s a no-brainer!!! #cuechat

I have not been on the selection process- but I believe it’s like what we tell our students when they ask “how many words...?”- Enough to get your ideas across. Am I close @jcorippo ? #cuechat
One thing I noticed is there are different topics on the practice submission form than there are on the real one. For instance I believe Model Lessons and Design is not on the actual submission. #cuechat
We are a K-5 school, 75% low SES school that serves our neighborhood population and then about 30% of students are lottery based. We’ve adopted PBL through every grade level, elective cycles 2-5, and NGSS is the driving pillar in our ELA instruction. #CueChat

Worth noting: CUE staff does not do the initial scoring for #FALLCUE or #SPRINGCUE sessions - they are all done by #CUE volunteers without seeing anyone's names =) #cuechat

Q4: All the main topics (not secondary) will be scored against similar topics this year. How does this assist you as a potential speaker? (And check out the live speaker data coming in too at https://t.co/AO8CXXgjf7)

Question. We’d like to present as a team - administrator, k-2 teacher, 3-5 teacher. We haven’t presented as PD - just to parents, community and board members. Is lack of PD presenting going to ding us in our submission. #cuechat

Yes! I kept rereading the abstract and then the rubric going back and forth like - well I need to hit this part, but the exemplar is so short! AHH! Plus I am excited about my topics which of course makes me a little more wordy #cuechat
#CUEchat - Question about applications - How close do we need to have the timeline for the Abstract? I signed up for 2hr sessions, but didn’t time it to exactly 120 minutes. Will this lose points.
Passion takes time to get across so make sure to include the parts that make your session shine!! That said, concise and clear passion is best!!! But #noregrets… get it all out there #cuechat
IMHO I would show that you have a plan for 120 minutes but provide a span of time. IE Intro = 5-10 minutes versus Intro= 5 min. Then add up your outside numbers to 120. Make sense? Just my style :) #cuechat
A4: Looks like there is an opening for more intermediate and intermediate to advanced options. Lots of beginner to intermediate...Time to up my game #cuechat#connectedTL

Q5: We feel that pedagogy leads tech rather than tech leading everything else: On a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high), how do feel about you about this? Why? How does this impact what you present at a CUE Conference?
#CUEChat#WeAreCUE
A5: OK...I have a outlier presentation (for CUE at least) but I think it's needed. We are doing lots of PLC work at my district, but few have really automated it (a la Google). So the Pedagogy is PLC, but the process is tech. Is this a desireable session? #cuechat#WeAreCUE

A5 - I’m at a 10 now. I feel pedagogy should drive the tech. I’ve stopped presenting the “How to use XYZ” and moved into more sessions showing how I changed my thinking to offer cool choices for my students. #CUEchat
A4: Making me think I need to rework my session aimed at TOSAs. #CUERockStar TOSA edition (3 years ago) helped to shape my role as an #edtech TOSA…I hope to return the favor. #CUEchat

A5: 10. Technology doesn’t change instruction. When used optimally, It’s a tool to improve pedagogy and express student creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. #CueChat

♥️ this! I rate that at 11. I want tech to support, enhance, and transform learning for kids, but it starts with pedagogy as the driver. #CUEChat#WeAreCUE

Will there be a second call for Spring later in the year? We are working on a Data Literacy unit that I would love to share but it is infant stage right now and I'm not confident in putting it out there as a session #CUEchat
All the cool tools and shiny new things mean nothing if they aren't used in service of good pedagogy with quality student at the center.

My two submissions are very culture heavy and how technology can positively affect school culture and community. I hope I picked the right topics. I had a harder time seeing where they fit #cuechat
A5: 11… right across the board. The learning objective is always the priority. Tech is just a tool. And, grandpa always said, “Don’t blame your tools.” #CUEchathttps://t.co/g5pbByAVII

My presentation is Graphic Design in Google Slides as a means to communicate ideas - colors emphasize ideas, font choice, etc - for a variety of academic lessons OR to create yearbooks #WeAreCUE#CUEchat

If selected, I would recommend thinking about how to mix up take-aways with narrative. Culture sessions are so powerful when you can share AND arm your audience with resources. Finger crossed for you! #cuechat#WeAreCUE
Check out my website and look out for the presentation! I think it looks pretty awesome! If it is accepted, I will talk to students to see if they want to join me. Seriously love what @EddiesClass does #WeAreCUE#CUEchat
