A5 sometimes teachers face tech that is not updated

A1: Definitely. In math, for example, it has saved time when Ss watch vids/take notes at home + work on problems in class.

A1: I like the idea of flipping the classroom because I think it eliminates so much front loading.
I was thinking the same thing. We are going to flip one of our classes this year.
A1: Haven't had much success & my HS student didn't learn much doing it last year for chem. I still try though. I use edPuzzle
A1 I am still a big believer in direct instruction done by a deft facilitator. Not mere input but equal interaction & exchange.

. Ss access to the flipped aspects of the classroom should be the first and foremost consideration.
A2: Consider device availability on the part of Ss. Consider bldg. admin guidance on device use.

A3: Access and lack of student interest and engagement.
A3: They will rely on a wider variety of tech that might be BYOT (phones). Willingness to learn on the fly is gonna be maxxed!
totally!! Lessons become like that tv show "Flip or Flop"...some will succeed, others not so much!
A3: Change from the traditional model will take time for Ss. However the biggest challenge if a T has low expectations for Ss.
So true. Some Ts spend so much time "teching" that they lose focus on "teaching."
What are some of the low expectations that some Ts my have?
You have to keep your "eyes on the prize" Tech is a tool, instructional purpose is primary.

A3. It can be difficult for a T to break the technology barrier even with free resources such as a public library.

Ts get a lot of shiny, new tech toys + it can be overwhelming at times. But hey, a pencil is tech to someone.

A4: can get you into chunking your instruction. That might be a good transition to the flipped model.
A4 In all things edu, Ts must trust their intuition, honor their experience, & truly know the needs of Ss. Don't follow fads.
