A1: The complete idiots guide to chemistry. I let them know that if they read it fast enough, they will know more that do.
A1: it depends on the student. Unwind, Elenaor and Park, Timeline. Every reader has different interests.
A1: I start off with The Dot. I love the message it gives the kids.
I love that book. It is focused and tangential all at the same time.

Some books speak to some classes more than others. Fairly Fairy Tales taught us that we all can read.

For reluctant readers, I try books that everyone is talking about in the moment: Maze Runner, John Green, etc. Changes often.
I love to hear my Ks talk while in the library. Their conversations are snapshots into their learning about books.

And sometimes the movie is a good hook for some of the reluctant kiddos. They come in asking for what they saw.
