A1: I still don't do this well, and I'm semi-retired. I often read something just before the book club is going to meet, or when it's due at the library. Just like my other procrastinations. #read4fun
A1 I finish my day reading - even if it is only for a short time. I save the books I really want to get lost in for days with more time available.
#Read4Fun
A1. I usually spend some time during my planning periods. I also try and read with my students if I am not conferencing on during independent reading time. #read4fun
Hi Everyone! Jamie, West L.A. Newbie π΄ East Coast Native βΎοΈ Just got home from a relaxing afternoon in Calabasas by the koi -turtle pond #Read4Fun
A1 I #read4fun every Saturday afternoon/full day of rest that includes #bookdate π This question is good reminder for me to go back & schedule book time(not just newspaper articles on Twitter)during week! New backyard outdoor landscaping almost ready for relaxing reading time π΄
A1. I carry a book with me everywhere so I can always take it out and sneak some reading time in: waiting for meetings to start, doctor's office, hair appointment, etc. #read4fun
A1: One of the main ways I am able to read as much as I do is to utilize audiobooks. This allows me to "read" while completing other tasks around the house, like laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc. I average a book every week or two, depending on the length. #Read4Fun

I could definitely manage my time better! I try to make it a point to read every night before I go to sleep. Some nights I manage to read quite a bit and others I can barely get a sentence read before my eyes are closing. #read4fun
A1: Rita, ES principal from Wisconsin. I carry my Kindle everywhere & I have Audible on my phone and listen every spare minute. Last, I set goals for reading. I make reading a priority. #Read4fun
A1: When I get home after a hard day, I make myself a hot cup of coffee and snuggle up with a book. That way, I can "escape reality" for a little while #read4fun
A2 Before - When I am browsing bookstores I find I am guilty of 'judging a book by its cover'! I question what is important about the illustration that gives me an idea of the story. I have found great authors and stories that way.
#Read4Fun
A2 During - Always questioning to make connections. When I break from reading, I am always reflecting on the story to try to predict what's coming.
#Read4Fun
A2 Wondering ?s always!
Title meaning, author background, book cover art work, characters, setting, content...all may send me to visit places I've read about or research issues, connect me to my next book! #read4fun
I like the idea of scheduling afternoon/full day of rest. Wish we still had outdoor reading weather here in MA, but we won't see that again for a while! #read4fun
A2 After - Sometimes I need to read other material before starting a new book because I dont want the story to end. It is the reflection after that keeps the story going for me. #Read4Fun
A2: I take notes in Google Keep for most "adult" books that I read. It helps me remember things, including ?? I have as I read. Also, if I am reading an ebook, I frequently highlight & add notes that I go over when I'm done. Helps me write my reviews in Goodreads, too. #Read4Fun
A2: I usually read on my IPad so I can look up material on the web if I have questions or need more information. After a good book I like to look up info on the author to see what inspired their writing #Read4Fun
Jaime from NJ 6th ELA/Science. Jumping in late. A1: my son and I read every night, I have a book on my phone and we listen to a book from the library app on tape in the car! #read4fun
A2. Any book with a "cliff hanger" ending. If there is no closure I often think about it for quite a while. OR when reading a series and waiting for the next book. #read4fun
That's a great tip! Especially for people (like me!!) who tend to read several books at the same time - a few notes would help me keep everything straight when I pick the book back up! #Read4Fun
A2: One of the ways I engage with texts that I'm reading is talking with my friend about the literature we are reading. We recommend books to each other, and then meet at least once a week to discuss them together. Basically an informal book club. #Read4Fun
A2 I tell my students all the time to do exactly that--judge a book by its cover. I also take short breaks in between chapters to mentally visualize what just happened. #read4fun#ucolme@ucolme
Not me. My eyesight is failing and the Kindle print can be made HUGE. It is light, can use used anywhere anytime, and the next book is always a click away. I cannot imagine going back to "book" books. #Read4fun

A2: if professional reading I take notes as I read, if with my son we constantly discuss before and after what we read. Recaps and predictions. #read4fun
I also research many topics and background information about the books I read, as well as the author. I feel this brings me closer to the author and their purpose for writing. #Read4Fun

A2a #read4fun I always reflect whether reading non-fiction or fiction, "what did I learn? what was the message(s)? how can I grow? be better? help others? connect?" Some of my favorites...
I like the physical books for going back. I haven't used all of the Kindle features yet. I have started to take notes in a notebook but am starting digital so they don't get misplaced. #Read4Fun
I do the same! There's a Starbucks in town that's all glass on one side and it gets very toasty sitting by the window. It's a good spot to read and warm up! #read4fun
Certain books seem "easier" for me to listen to than others. YA & MG lit are often easier to follow. Something with a lot of detail, and I often get lost! For some reason, I find biographies & memoirs easy to listen to, esp if they have a storytelling feel. #Read4fun

I took a long time to try it, as I felt like you that is wasn't the same as reading an actual book. However, with my busy schedule, this allows me so much greater access to reading material, and I have grown to love audiobooks. #Read4Fun
A2a I don't usually keep think of questions long after I finish book, if I do its probably right after I complete a book then usually forget about them as the day goes on. #read4fun
A3: Reading is akin to breathing for me. If I don't do it I feel sick. I don't think I've gone a day without reading for 40 years. One key? There is not a TV in our house. Hasn't been for over 20 years. #Read4fun
A1: I enjoy reading, but I find it hard to make time for it these days. My day to day schedule includes homework and work. I do find some time on Sundays, where I can relax with some tea and read for a little while. #Read4Fun
A3 Reading always gives me a personal sense of peace and calmness. I find reading a book to be the relaxing end to my day, which leaves me relaxed before I call it a day! #read4fun
I agree that there are some types of books I enjoy as audiobooks, some I enjoy on my Kindle, and some I prefer physical copies of - PD books are definite ones I need to hold in my hands to highlight/revisit/make notes on! #Read4Fun

A3: Many of my good friends are readers as well, and sharing what we read is one way to deepen connections. When I was a school librarian, being able to make those connections with students was such a plus! #Read4Fun
A3: Good reading absorbs you! Much like transcendental meditation, reading block out the stress of the day and focuses you mind on one thing. It a great avenue to mindfulness. #read4fun
A3 #read4fun = pure #mindfulness. takes my mind away from "what's next?" since I'm always ON! This girl needs her down time! Books & fave mags are FUN, relaxing, enjoyable! Currently reading The Library Book. Love @USATODAY newspaper, L.A. Mag & daughter gifted me Real Simple π
I finished reading Daughter of Moloka'i this weekend. Part of the story takes place in a Japanese American internment camp during WWII. I can't stop thinking about why this happened in our country. #read4fun
