-
Welcome Sheri! Thanks for joining tonight.

A1: Be slow to judge. Be willing to allow new things, but decide ahead-of-time what limits to set, & how to know if it's effective.

-
A1. Having school leaders who are willing to take risks and try new things is a great way to build that culture.

-
A1: there needs to be trust in the learning environment for risk-taking and cognitively challenging learning intentions.

-
A1: The administrator has to be ready to release and trust. The admin sets the tone for everyone's risktaking.

-
A1 Great question- love to have learnings f.mtgs focused on strategies and let staff know it is ok to give it a try!

-
A1 Teach, model, & DF. Out focus is on engagement - I coach using strategies that the T feels comfy with. We don't all try the same

-
Whether teacher or administrator, if you want risk-taking as part of your culture, you must model risk-taking.

-
A1: Team approach. All are working toward the same goals.

-
A1: Build trust with the concept that WE are in this together. Take the lead with risks and learn from the successes and failures

-
A1: Ts and leaders pulling the same direction - shared vision!!

-
A1 I agree- Admin must always model what the expectations they communicate!

-
A1. Celebrate those Ts who do take risks and share their accomplishments with others.

-
I agree Erika! The leaders set the tone in the building.

-
A1: Encourage thinking outside the box to find new approaches.

-
A1 I also believe the WE culture is built by getting in classrooms and active in the Teaching and learning process !

-
A1 Yes! Trust is critical for risk taking and greatness- doing the same over and over will not produce great!

-
A1: I also think teachers need to see value and purpose in the collaboration before they leap.

-
Best part of any day is being in a classroom & being active in the teaching/learning process with kids and teachers.

-
A1: Admin., coaches, and Ts should routinely model the language and behaviors that reflect the value of continuous learning.

-

-
A1: Out with the "No, but..."s & in with the "Yes, and..."s. Embrace

-
A1: con't - embrace differences in strategies and strengths; highlight those who take risks

-
A1: Be willing to reconsider rules, too...why do we have the rules we have? Habit or need?

-
A1 Active engagement! Most of us grew up with compliant engagement- that needs to be the past!

-
A1: transparent in growth, reflect as a practice and share what is working/personal challenges

-
A2: These are AMAZING statistics! I had no idea. Pretty exciting for our ICs.

-
Knowing the why and purpose are extremely critical for me https://t.co/LCY0Q8lRtQ
-
 -
A1: I also think teachers need to see value and purpose in the collaboration before they leap.

-
A2: I'd like to see that invisible wall broken down in every classroom that prevents great collaboration. We can!

-
Q2: Ts need opportunities to observe each other and provide feedback to each other; Ts learning how to provide effective feedback

-
A2: And we have to get to a point where we don't see it as "better if you change" but rather "better together"

-
A2 Like walk-through observations to give quick coaching feedback

-
A2:We benefit from an IC in our bldg each day. T's can go directly to him for training assistance just to meet his/her needs.

-
A1: Professional learning also requires flexible time commitments...too many requirement => checklists.

-
A2: Our T's loved getting in to classrooms to watch someone else teach and then discuss. We need more of that.

-
A2: I'd like to see coaches as lead learners rather than ordained experts. A "we can all learn as we go" - w a lot of co-teach opps

-
A2. Modeling lessons are great if you have the staff. Peer observations and collab are always available...need to maximize these

-
A2: Teachers bring a video to a PLC to review ... I like the description in Transparent Teacher https://t.co/9miQ0qrTD3

-
A2: How about equipping T's with good questioning of lessons so they can help one another improve?

-
A2: Visible everyday to model, give feedback, observe our Ts. They need to see the full cycle.

-
I'm going to get this Q2 and A2 stuff right shortly! Thankfully, I have a growth mindset.

-
A2: Teachers truly learn by watching their peers. Different subjects/content areas. Too often they are stuck in their worlds.

-
A2: Collaborative approaches, team teaching for modeling new strategies, teachers observing teachers.

-
A2: a better understanding of the types of coaching/purpose... So that there can be a partnership... Not perceived as hierarchy

-
A2. Planning to enhance our instructional rounds process with a little coaching through praise and specific feedback.

-
A2 Peer observation is a great way to improve- let it be teacher to teacher with no reporting to admin

-
A2:T's visiting classrooms then time to meet with that teacher and IC= collaborative approach to improved istruction.

-
Thanks for bringing the teacher AND coach perspective tonight https://t.co/x3YoayiAGz
-
 -
A2: Collaborative approaches, team teaching for modeling new strategies, teachers observing teachers.

-
A2: Finding time for peer observation and feedback is sometimes the barrier until this becomes the culture

-
A2: I love having peers trained in coaching in the same hallway. Immediate coaching during hallway chat vs. random talk...

-

-
A2: I think we could do more with the peer obs process. Maybe I need to do more. More AFTER that's meaningful

-
A3: Looking forward to seeing our great coaches' answers.

-
A3: I've learned to stay away from those that start with "Why" as it puts others on the defensive ... It's something I'm working on

-
That's what I need to focus on too. Need to give some more guidance in this area to make peer obs more about learning.

-
My Ts love peer observations. Need to use a google doc to highlight strategies learned. Need to encourage more

-
"Students need Ts who have the time...to work together and craft engaging, rigorous lessons." https://t.co/zHJo4V3lJb

-
A2 I hear this too-- but teaching can be quite isolating- if there is a will-we can find ways to support peer eval

-

-
A3 talk to me about..... I noticed.....

-
I think we can get there! Just don't change the eval system again, KY!!

-
A2: "Ss need Ts who have the time...to work together and craft engaging, rigorous lessons." https://t.co/zHJo4V3lJb …

-
I also like receiving feedback on the job I'm doing. Scary but truthful. Makes me know how things are perceived

-
Started doing "flycloser days" every Tues - a different group of Ts go on a "school visit" in our own school each week.

-
A3: What are some possible outcomes you expect from the lesson your planned?

-
A3 honestly I have them run the meeting- what went well? What do you want my help with? We leave every session w/ an action plan!

-
A3 This is a great chat
If you had a do over- what would you do different?
How would you define the engagement?

-
A3: We have really been working on letting the T's take the lead with Q's through reflection.

-
A3: Tell me more about that... Did you notice... I think those are my go-tos.

-
No worries!! I'm forgetting to tonight!

-
Though I'm not an admin, I love following along the action of - always a good conversation! Wish more from took part.

-
A3: What might it look/sound like if students can (insert learning target)?

-
yep https://t.co/lwHlFss0iv
-
 -
A3 honestly I have them run the meeting- what went well? What do you want my help with? We leave every session w/ an action plan!

-
A3: "How did the students respond to that?" or "Was the result what you expected? Why do think that was the outcome?"

-
A3: Tell me about; how do you; give me an example; what if; what are your ideas....

-
A3: share an 'aha' moment . . .

-
A3: Did you get the results you hoped for during your lesson? What might be some reasons that lead to those results?

-
A3: what about an invitation instead of a ?....or just listening? Then they can generate their own questions...

-
A3 How might we be sure this lesson aligns with your product, purpose and authentic audience?

-

-
A3: I agree with I'm more of a leading statement kinda gal rather than a questioner.

-

-
A3 Love student friendly learning targets instead of a number for a standard!

-
As we all answer Audrey's last question, I want to take the opportunity to thank her for moderating tonight!

-
A3: Questions should get teachers to think deeply about their practice and the impact of that practice on their students' success

-

-
A3 I like... When students were done- what was available to stretch their learning?

-
But you sure would make an awesome admin! Nudge nudge....

-
A2: Our English Ts have various teams exploring different educational pedagogy and becoming experts in order to share their exps

-
A4: I make sure they know they are the experts in that class and we are here to support that expertise.

-
A4: Norm ... We are in this conversation together. I am not the expert, but I will join you on the journey!
