Yes, and Smart Start is awesome as a whole school. Have teachers plan segments and then share, so the work is shared! Some activities are whole school, some in classrooms. #OrEdChat#EduProtocols
Thank you all for being here tonight on #OrEdChat!! Don't forget to finish adding to the shared slide deck and revisit after you try an #EduProtocols this week! See you next week to chat about Chapters 4 & 5 and reflect! Have a great week crew!
A3: I feel like I have set the tone in our classroom, but often I do find myself teaching the kids how to maintain that culture in how they act towards each other. #OrEdChat#EduProtocolshttps://t.co/4QZiIPWTs0
Thanks for the great chat-better get to bed and mentally prep for the week: K-6 field trip, parent program, inservice, state reading test... Have a great week! #OrEdchat
Me, too! Spring is the perfect time to experiment 'cause the kids know you and you know them. (Also great time to re-arrange the furniture! ) #EduProtocols#OrEdChat
A3 I make a big deal of "giving" my Ss 'creative license' at BOY and build on it all year, I give them the freedom to decide what format some of their work takes, it pays big dividends #OrEdChat
Had a principal tell me, we don't have time for tech. So I sat down and showed her Cyber Sandwich, 8 pARTS and Iron Chef. She does not think that anymore! These ARE the curriculum and they don't waste time! #EduProtocols#OrEdChat
I believe its true esp when the task becomes too messy or complicated that instead of students showing understanding of lesson, they are overly focus on making it right (doing the instruction). #EduProtocols#OrEdChat
So true, and we teachers want to push that point with kids. Points off for a name on the wrong side of the paper. Ouch. We must do better! #EduProtocols#OrEdChat
Although it can be a way to give students ownership to their work esp if the task can be presented in the way they feel comfortable. But clarity in instruction and task should be well-thought so that better understand of the lesson be more evident. #EduProtocols#OrEdChat
A2: Starting something new is never easy but we will never know the effects of these to students if we will not try. I guess, we need to be open (1) to try new things, (2) explore, and (3) fail and then reflect and do something even better! #EduProtocols#OrEdChat
A3: The challenge in doing something new is if it fits the culture of your school. There will be resistance and pulling down but I hope we will continue to thrive, one classroom at a time! The effects might not be evident immediately but just do it! #EduProtocols#OrEdChat
Hey #PLF! I created this @Flipgrid for my Ss as they prepare for SBAC testing. We have Ps, educators, & TA's who have left us encouraging & uplifting messages but we could use more! Would you take a second to drop my Ss a message? https://t.co/MeMF85dVHt#OrEdChat#tlap#epsd9
