Hey #cuechat Nicole from Campbell, CA. In & out of the chat, trying to get my kids in bed but do NOT want to miss a @TosasTalkinTech takeover & Manic Minutes!!
Mike here from La Puente, Ca Tech TOSA for a K-12 district and co-host of @TosasTalkinTech#PodcastEDU The Jetsons for fav. Saturday Morning Cartoon. Still waiting on my own flying saucer! #cuechat
A0: Good evening all! #ConnectedTL co-mod Stephanie tweeting from St Louis. I teach computer science and work with teachers to take the scary out of tech by day...and watched no cartoons on Saturday mornings because I liked to sleep in! #sorrynotsorry#cuechat
A1: First comp I learned on was a system80 educational machine. It had 5 buttons on front and your answers would come out of a tape-punch drive! #cuechat
A1: I got an off-brand in the 80's that was before everything. We still have it in our cottage in Michigan. I wonder if it still works!? #connectedtl#CUEchat
A1: Didn't get my first computer until 2nd semester of Freshman year in college...a Dell desktop! I was so proud that I figured out how to connect everything myself. #cuechat
Rocky Logue 7th SS and Tech TOSA in Nipomo waiting for Goobric to attach my rubric first comp was a hand me down from my dad. A PC in college...I was 25 or something. #CUEchat
A2: My favorite teacher is failure. Love it or hate it, she always teaches me to get up, give up, or get back in line. Seriously though, you can’t make me choose! #cuechat
A2: Ms. Sales, 6th grade. Put me in charge of this brand new device to figure out Oregon Trail and then train others. Guess you could say it my first tech SOSA position! #cuechat
My favorite teacher & inspiration to become a T was @Nanceac60 in 3rd grade. She brought learning to life & made it fun, connected w/ us & built real relationships, & let us play Paula Abdul and Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" cassettes during work time. #cuechat
A2: Without a doubt it was Chuck Lindholm my 7th grade English Teacher at MVCDS: https://t.co/ao0fW4bSXo when I was struggling with my parents divorce....and losing my way...for never giving up on me #cuechat#connectedtl
A2 Gentmann because he ruined my handwriting!! I had to write so many sentences. I will not...I will not... He was always funny though. I was kind of a knucklehead in school...Yes @KarlyMoura@lhighfill can you believe it? #CUEchat.
A3: The best lessons I teach are in teachable moments. I’d like to think one of the best is “If they aren’t in the room we aren’t taking about them. If they are in the room, we talk to them.” Respect goes a long way for me. #cuechat
A3: Geometry attributes lesson with 1st graders over 2 days. Completely abandoned assigned curr. for model making, collaboration, and an awesome tech integration with new app at the time https://t.co/EK4PHF8yYv The engagement and energy from Ss was off the charts. #cuechat
A3: Virtual Vacation, a webquest where kids had a $10k budget to plan the ultimate vacation. They needed to look up airfare, hotels, rental cars, and activities for everywhere they wanted to go. Then organize it in a sheet and present to the class! #cuechat
The best lessons I ever taught were whenever we were Real Talking. @Flocabulary Week In Rap always took up an entire period of discussion & my Ss asking questions and seeking more info. I happily threw the lesson plan out the window on days like those. #cuechat
A3 they come and go. I don't like to think this was my fav lesson because it skews my expectations. There are lessons I thought were the best with one class then wah wah wah with the next. I just go at all of the with the thought they will be the best!! #CUEchat
A3: My first year with Chromebooks, my Juniors recorded literary term examples and definitions in pairs/threes. They worked so hard to live up to PEERs expectations. #powerofpeers#connectedtl#CUEchat
A3: Not exactly a lesson, but the best, most impactful activity I've ever done was "I Wish My Teacher Knew." I learned so much about my students and it allowed me to connect with them personally and academically #cuechat
A3: (out of classroom for 6 years) Relate the body systems to another object ..so some kids related it to a motorhome...all the systems and parts...metaphor for the body systems #cuechat
I do like doing the Gold for Salt Trade, Chasquis runners, Monastery day, African Drum Presentation, @creativeedtech 's faux Twitter accounts, Mini plays, even document analysis can be fun...#CUEchat

A3: I loved teaching the constitutional convention. Changing the class into Independence Hall with green table@cloths, candles and quill pens. #cuechat
That also doesn't mean I forget the good ones but sometimes you get that one class, or you're a bit off that day, or...I just love education because of how much it constantly changes. #CUEchat
A4: My iPad Pro is my go-to creative device, for sketchnoting, podcasting, video editing, photo editing, digital soundboard and even taking photos. It is an all-around creative powerhouse! #cuechat
A4: My go to creation device/ tool is any camera feature. Gives students a chance to express themselves where sometimes words may inhibit or hold them back. #cuechat
Rollin in a bit late, Jaymian from Porterville, CA teach 8th Grade Soc Sci/Phys Sci. Fav Sat cartoon Spiderman... when it was on way back when #cuechat
A4 the students!! I love tech but you gotta figure out what the students need and want. I do love Chromebooks for Ss and a PC, sorry Mac peeps, if great for me. #CUEchat
A4: My go-to creation device is whatever inspires me at the moment. Sometimes it’s Google Drawings. Sometimes it’s pencil and paper. Lately, it’s spreadsheets...I know, crazy huh?! Don’t judge. #cuechat
I go in a total creative zone when I'm making #HyperDocs. I love thinking about creative lesson design from start to finish, fonts to use, what colors pair well, but also what I want students to do with what I'm giving them and what it'll look like when they're working #cuechat
The 4th quarter- this is the time of year that separates the good teacher from the gr8. The gr8 finish strong. The gr8 use the momentum of this 4th quarter to fuel learning (theirs & students) through the summer. The gr8 never let a day go to waste. The gr8 make a difference!
A4: Depends on what I'm creating. Photos & other images - Photoshop, Movies - Phone or Camera & then iMovie, Coding - Scratch a lot of the time though lately something w/micro:bit #cuechat
A2: mrs Tucker my AP art teacher. Always said “if you want to be smart, you gotta have art” She taught me creativity and perseverance -always finding ways to make your art better and try new techniques. Ps I won my HS art award in senior year #cuechat
A5: There is nothing wrong with completely unplugged lessons. Tech is not always the solution for enhancing learning, in some cases it can even detract from the learning. #cuechat
A5: Shouting from the rooftops: IT'S THE LEARNING OBJECTIVE not the tool. That said, Twitter to develop you as a learner. Flipgrid to ensure hearing from every learner. Google Drawing is a go to. #HyperDocs and #Eduprotocols#cuechat
A5: I’m getting ready to do a screencast (using the Loom extension) about hanging indent and research tools in Google Docs...I’ve been sharing with students and colleagues (working on degrees) so much lately! #cuechat
A5 whatever they r comfortable I like 2 keep a tight toolbox get really good at stuff before I move on 2 the next Sometimes there is just 2 much stuff Next CUE I want 2 do a session called 'What's in You Tech Toolbox' Don't steal that please @creativeedtech is my witness #CUEchat

There is so much power to be had in a simple Google Form for reflection. The trick is in actually USING them for reflection! And I love @cogswell_ben 's idea of posting your feedback publicly. #cuechat
A6: Nothing like a good podcasting session to get myself or students reflecting on learning. Something about audio that focuses your thoughts. #cuechat
A6: Again, the answer is always @flipgrid! So versatile, from private to public reflection, it knocks down some barriers to getting students to think and allows for awesome creativity in answers and reflections! #cuechat
A6: My favorite reflection tool to use with students is Questions in Google Classroom (set to private, can edit) I love posing questions and hearing/reading their thoughts. The ability to pose a Q & let it simmer for a day before collecting is powerful. Timing is key. #cuechat
A6: Always reflecting...I use Google Forms and Flipgrid. Forms for daily check in and behavior logs, Flipgrid for more detailed, thoughtful reflections and constructive comments on other Ss work #cuechat
A5: I have a habit of listening to what they are doing in the classroom and then saying you should check ___ out then. Try to match their needs, but it's often G Suite related #cuechat
A7: My first #FallCUE in 2015, watching @bribriggs and @creativeedtech talk about podcasting and education and getting rejuvenated and re-inspired to get @TosasTalkinTech off the ground. It has changed my trajectory as an educator! #cuechat
A5: I love @PearDeck because it gives all student a voice for whole class collaboration and @padlet for Ss posting photos of their math diagrams and calcs to share with entire class #cuechat
A7 The first time I got tweeted was pretty cool. And I kinda like when tech messes up for me so that people see that I am real, and you can recover from a momentary glitch. #cuechat
I love how #cuekaraoke at Spring CUE brings everyone together to let loose and have fun. Truly unique to that conference. I also love how the intimate setting of Fall CUE lends itself well to impromptu meetups & hangouts with my PLN peeps #cuechat
A7: Hard to top with getting a shoutout from @ericcurts in his #ISTE17 session, but I loved meeting people as a volunteer as well. The hallway learning game was strong at ISTE, #EdcampSCSD and #METC18 this year
#cuechat
Amen to all that, Kimberly! I think modeling grace under fire is HUGE. When others see it actually happens to all of us but then have a model for how to best respond when it happens, it's powerful. #cuechat

Had a great time at #CUE18. Thank you @ccho01 for presenting with me and to my awesome team @edtechbydarin and @OCTechNet for coming out to support!! Thank you @cueinc for this incredible honor!!
A8: Not a fan of the term Edu-Celeb but a great Educator/ Innovator would be @TechCoachSusan who has done so much with #k2cantoo and getting Ts to believe that that age group can do so much more. #cuechat
A8: Macbook Pro 15 for everyone in class along with iPad Pros and Apple pencils, and hotspots for every student's home. Cover all the creative and educational bases. I would eliminate paper in my room and I would be able enhance communication from school to home #cuechat
Oh wow, an unlimited classroom budget?? Since I'm a TOSA what'd I'd love to create is a space on campus for Ss to have a place for quiet reflection, where I could teach a meditation class. Imagine a school where students have a period of meditation on their schedules! #cuechat
A6: Getting math Ss to write about what they learned in words is key to understanding the abstraction of math . So google doc would work. I would love for Ss to write a daily blog with photos of daily work ! Aha! I think I have just discovered next years plan for HW #cuechat
A8: Open hearts, open minds, patience, respect, patience...and plenty of classroom field trips to takenour learning to where the magic really happens. Did I mention patience? #cuechat
#cuechat How did I not know about this chat?? Joining wayyy late tonight!! A8: A lot of coding and robotics materials, tablets, and engineering supplies.
Since we're already making plans for next year, the edu-celeb I'd most like to chat with & pick their brain is @BethHouf co-author of #LeadLAP so I could gain her insights about team building amongst the staff. She's got some amazing ideas & energy. #cuechat
A9: I'd like a sit down with John Hattie, I love his visible learning book! Such great ideas and game changing applications. I'd Love to have him on the podcast too #edudreams#cuechat
A8: An unlimited budget 😍...I would go for my own Chromebook cart, a second display, makerspace, $$ to have experts come out and connect with students #cuechat
A9 Not a fan of the term Edu-Celeb but a great Educator/ Innovator would be @TechCoachSusan who has done so much with #k2cantoo and getting Ts to believe that that age group can do so much more. #cuechat
A9: I’ve been fortunate to meet many amazing educators and pick their brains. Some of my favorites are ones I’ve worked down the hall from and those who are part of our #connectedTL voxer group 😍 (but I might be slightly biased) #cuechat
A8: I like Toms idea of iPads and pencils so could still do math by hand but have it digitized for further usage in google classroom . Also want new flexible seating furniture to easily create different arrangements to match group needs #cuechat
A9: I love @shakeuplearning! Met her twice but never got to just sit down and chat! Would love the chance to talk all things Google with Kasey! #cuechat
AWWW! Thanks Mike! <3 It was so great to connect, even briefly, at #CUE18! Yes! #K2CanToo! Let's spread the word about what our littlest learners CAN do! #CUEchat
A9 Not a fan of the term Edu-Celeb but a great Educator/ Innovator would be @TechCoachSusan who has done so much with #k2cantoo and getting Ts to believe that that age group can do so much more. #cuechat
A0: hi #cuechat David teacher/tech mentor from Covina High @SGVCUE board mem. Joining super late. Fav cartoon? Classic was Scooby Doo & Hanna Barbera cartoons. Today: Phineas and Ferb.

Major props to @CateTolnai who constantly inspires and invigorates me to be a better connected educator. Also to the amazing @annkozma723 who taught me the phrase "If you don't tell your story, someone else will". #cuechat
A10: Without a doubt @cogswell_ben for all things TOSA, @TechTomBUSD for pushing me to connect more, and @annkozma723 for showing me you can never have enough excitement for education. #cuechat
A3: best lesson? It was a German directions lesson. Ss built models of stores/places in a German city then we set up the room as a city w/ streets and had to navigate it. #cuechat

A10: Eight years ago, Kari Stubbs @karistubbs (from @brainpop) took a chance on a new college grad from @Kansas_SOE and mentored me into some amazing connections. It’s been a wild ride so far and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next. #cuechat
