A1: It provides access to internships, face-to-face interviews, and opportunities for development in the critical skills to secure good jobs after graduation. Many students NEVER have access to these invaluable opportunities without school advocacy. #DivergEd

Q2: In my area there are many colleges that provide insight into the caeers my students think they may be interested in. This provides a valuable resourse in the community #divergED
A3: In every lesson, I strive to include either application of relevant skills, real-world connection to current events, or opportunities to hear from the kids to hear their perspectives, questions, or needs. #DivergEd
Relevancy is a big part of our work @Proj_ARC#divergED. We work with teachers to design challenging learning experiences with learners, and then to support the pathways learners choose to uncover standards.
A3: As an elem. principal, we created an economy school wide. Ss applied for and were hired for classroom and school jobs. They were $$ weekly. Spent/saved for items at school bookstore. Stocked many school/home items like toothbrushes & deodorant. Ss were empowered. #diverged

That's an understatement! It also takes trust and openness by leadership at the school and central office level. Difficult for many to let go and trust teachers to build those connections for the benefit of kids. #DivergEd

A4: Meaningful and authentic partnerships between schools community, and business - designed from the ground up - is a key to relevant teaching and learning #divergED
A4: Throw out "standards" after middle school and develop tracks for development so that Ss develop the best practices for success. This can be done from a liberal arts perspective, but the goal is maximizing skills and application to maximize post-secondary success. #DivergEd
A3: I try to bring a real world example in everyday and the local community has some amazing guest speakers- I had a wonderful police officer come in to talk to my forensics class. #divergED
