What's the best way to learn about the new changes to Google Classroom? Search, ask , etc. ?
Thinking about screen time a lot lately - What's your purpose with the tech tool you're using?
I agree, tech shouldn't be looked at as either or when used in schools. I like the active vs passive tech user explanation.
and install the Google App Training extension for

No program teaches kids. Teachers teach kids. via
Closing the gap is an urgent matter. Kids are depending on us to deal with this immediately! Tech tools can help at school & home.

How do we teach critical info assessment in social media?
I learned a new word 2night,multi-modle.It has various links 2 go off of & learn from digitally.Communication is a constant change.
Excellent ? since about 60% of young people get news thru Twitter!
What would you say is the most important piece of teaching literacy?
Communication and writing says so much about a ss. Get to know them.
Teach the writer, not the writing.
Being a critical consumer! Tchrs must model for sts how to discern what's read & heard!
When teaching writing, ts need to give ss short & direct instruction. Then ss go & apply it.
Are there tools you recommend to help English language learners in reading and vocabulary development?
Of course, we will tweet it out later! I'll tag you on it.
Motivating reluctant readers:
1. give choice
2. motivate dedicated literacy
3. confidence
Reluctant readers: give ss an option;dedication (the why);celebration (be positive and show the ss that ur supporting them).
I came to the party late but am loving what I'm reading here!
Choice, choice, choice! Comic bks, Sports Illustrated, Chaucer, doesn't matter! Just read!
Learning a lot about literacy tonight from .
Jumping into a little late tonight. Need to get back into my school routine! Allison, 4th grade teacher at Central Lee
TY for the info and answering my question!
why on connecting w/ ts on social media?model to ss how to use social media effectively and how not to be used by it.
Oh, I love that! "How to use social media, not be used by social media..."
To me,reading is an aspect to a child's education. I salute you for making a difference!
Resources for teach speaking skills for MS and Elem S? Help with in class S videos? Transfer write to speak?
why on connecting w/ ts on social media? 'the smartest person in the room is the room'. I like that saying.
Broaden your room! Break down the walls :)
If we model social media with students we need to ADD them to our social media PLCs. Can of worms? Yes or no?
why on connecting with ts on social media?24 hr PD and like you can go to it for any ?s.
I joined Twitter because of She talked about it during a PD day. Started slow, but 4 or 5 yrs ago jumped in.
Have never regretted Twitter. I have learned so much from amazing educators.
All social media blocked for S at my school. Started opening google docs create chat rooms. Gonna find it, gotta model it!
why on connecting w/ ts on social media?Find that tool that fits your need and use it. Can be twitter, insta etc
Social media has expanded my teaching. Blogging, Twitter, Pinterest have all created new places for me to learn
It's about the connection, not the tool. Different platforms help me connect for different purposes.
My story: challenged by a superintendent to"try Twitter out" as she'd been learning. Jumped into a & haven't looked back.
Where has this been in my life!? !?
So true!! It's expanded so many horizons!! https://t.co/x5huNjSA7k
